What are you wearing today?

? They look natural to me. Even with real ones, you need that Parka outside in the cold, it hurts less. My favorite coats are the ones that are like sleeping bags with arms and fur trim.

Well, I like the cold so wearing the parka zipped all day was more to hide them...?

You look happy! How did they feel for you? They seem to be the right size for you.

They're a nice size and fit well. They're 1000cc from a company selling on Amazon as Ivita. If I decide to go down the path of HRT I'd be happy if I ended up like that naturally.

I think I'm going to look into other shaping wear so have a more feminine hips and butt. In the whole "butt or boobs" line of thinking I'm more into a nice butt. (I'd love to have the kind of figure that Sir Mix-A-Lot would praise.)

OK, so you're more built like a friend of mine (she's a touch taller but until she told me I could have SWORN she was taller than 5'4"). Doesn't mean anything though, she's been practicing martial arts since junior high and could probably kill me if she wanted to. Then again, she has an intersex condition and is sporting more testosterone than I am on any given day. I've never seen anybody give her a hard time either, but she goes to a private martial arts gym so I imagine the etiquette is different.

Hugs!

Being trained in self-defense does help with walking with confidence, I just don't have the stamina to fight long battles cuz of my hypoglycemia and anemia leave me with a very short energy bar to work with. I don't know my hormone count cuz haven't had those tests and I'm really good at avoiding doctors. I swear if I go to the doctor and they tell me "you have a intersex condition", it would answer a lot. I don't fear the can of worms so much as the clean up cuz I really don't have the energy to be spending on the extra management. More than likely after the pandemic, I'll have to face all them tests. Didn't even get a chest x-ray.

I was thinking once my (rather sizable) income tax return arrives I might go clothes shopping, even if I only go to Goodwill.

Got some of my favorite items from Goodwill, you just might need a bit of repair work after but it's all still good.

Seriously. Goodwill, thrift stores and resale shops are a freaking goldmine. You can find some great pieces for not so much cash. It takes some looking, but looking is fun too!

Hugs!

There is a Goodwill Outlet within sorta reasonable driving distance.  I have found some nice things in those big bins.

So true Jackie! Several months ago I went to a Value Village and they were restocking the shoes. They added a cute pair of ‘like new’ SAS casual shoes in the size 9-10 part of the sales rack. A woman standing closer than me picked them up, tried them on, and looked at me and said, “I’d buy them if they were blue tagged” and put them back. Blue was the 50%off color that day. After she walked away I tried them on and they fit perfectly. I paid $7.50 for them and it was seniors discount Tuesday so I got 30% off.

Later that week I went to see if I could buy another pair online figuring I could get a pair for $40-50. Nope, at the time they were priced at $147.50. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn male or female.

@Niamh

? Love them killer deals but it is sad when you can't repeat cuz of the original killer prices. Those do look very nice and I like the maroon dark red color. They also have a reasonable height and have a good heel. Good shoes may be expensive but since you need your feet well kept, some things are worth the extra money.

80% of my wardrobe is thrift store finds.  I live in a pretty affluent area so thrift stores are always stocked with nice things here.  Sunday I'm going to look for some more yoga pants, I need to size down! I should only have to spend about $5 each so in theory a $20 bill would be my cost for the day. Problem is, I will probably fill a shopping cart for $100 lol.  Yes, I have a problem.

SAS are very comfortable!   That was a fantastic bargain.

I have a pair of Chanel slip on flats that were given to me by an aunt.  They are divine to wear.  I know they were four figure shoes to buy new.  Are they worth that?  No but it shows what a hand made shoe can be.  Cheap shoes may look nice but they don't last.  I'm into having things for the long run.

The majority of my clothes are second hand.  Way cheaper and lots of life left!  Win-Win!

I just ordered a pair of inexpensive hip-and-butt shaping panties and some cheap yoga pants that are one-day shipping so I'll give them a go tomorrow. From what I'm seeing there's a price floor for decent quality shapewear and breast forms and right now I'm only able to touch the very bottom. For example, I'd love to see how a larger chest would look on me, but couldn't afford it.

I live in the Indiana suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky and we're pretty solidly middle class area and the Goodwill store reflects that. Sometimes there's some amazing deals, but it's slim pickings for nice things other times.

Hara you look fine and the boobs are just right. Yeah it was cold here today so deff wear a coat.

I got out and found a few tops and a pair of jeans today so it was a productive day.

Goodwill is one place I go to all the time. You never know what you will find there. The clothes selection is awesome you just  have to comb thru a  lot to find the jems.

Going to hit some pawn shops tomorrow and find a decent digital camera that doesn't wash everything out like my phone cam.

To top it all off the pics I took tonight I deleted the whole group accidentally.

Not a good night at all but I am laughing at myself .

I like that picture @Teri Anne you look adorable.  Nice look @Niamh, I'm enjoying getting dressed up for my zoom meeting.  Therapy is another safe place I like to look nice for.

I've been having great luck mixing Goodwill with a little Walmart, H&M, and ebay.  All pretty cheap.  Retail for the staples and thrift shops for the unique pieces.

I actually dug out some man clothes today, but only because I'm wet sanding and polishing a car, and need some junk I can throw away after wearing.  I guess I'll save some of that stuff for disposable clothing. ?

After 42 years, I don't think I'm ready to give up the easy sizing on men's pants. And I've thought for years that the "female version of me" would wear men's jeans for the same reason. (And I've met plenty of women who do that.)

Jealous though. I wish my hips looked like that. I'm basically Wonder Stick.

Ew, really? I junked all my man pants because my very, very delicate skin could not deal with the heavier, coarser fabric anymore. They just feel like wearing a mail sack.

I second the ew. Mail sack has got to be the most accurate description yet.

I donated every piece of male clothing I had except a few hoodies and some t-shirts from places I've been. The tshirts I sewed up for a more hourglass shape and a dart here or there.  They are still to big but at least they are feminine.

Today I really felt the need to "rock it". I've been having some dysphoria lately so out came the skirt with a few pleats in the back, tights, pumps and a ribbed top that almost feels like a really light sweater. It flairs nicely and makes me feel like I have some hips. lol If I have to work on the weekends I might as well look good doing it ;)

Everything here except shoes/tights were thrift shops including the jewelry.  Minus shoes, this whole outfit was probably $18-$20. The shoes were clearance rack DSW.  They are Clarkes so they're very comfy.  I think they were about $30.  I have to say, I'm very lucky to live in such an accepting area and running my own business means I can present the way I want.  I really feel for those of you who can't.

I felt like dressing up today. I also put on a bra after my first round of pictures made it PAINFULLY obvious I wasn't wearing one.

@Mia Marie I agree that it seems most of the focus is on Trans Youth.  And maybe that is in part because of protecting Trans Youth from the political environment, and to give them a chance to transition at an earlier age.  Many of our generation have been cloistered for most of our lives by societal exceptions and I think that has made it more difficult to be Visible ... until Now. So I guess my answer is ... Be Visible and seek out, or even start, support groups in your local area.  Planned Parenthood does provide Gender Affirming Care and therapy in most U.S. regions (and they take Medicare!).

As a registered CA voter I would be HAPPY to vote against this bill ... BUT as @Carolyn Marie mentioned it has little chance to make the ballot.  Hopefully this will put the Death Knell on the bill.   wrt Parents Rights of notification.  I would agree if there was potential harm to a child, or if the child was involved in potentially harming somebody else.  BUT, that would not be the case in the preponderance of situations.  The decision to Come Out to one's own parents should be up to the individual child only.  If the child does not feel Secure or Safe in their household then it should not be up to the State or School to make that determination. If the child did feel safe and secure they would have probably already come out.  If they haven't ... then the situation seems obvious.  Protect the Child, not the System.

Great news!  We ARE starting to receive more public support and visibility in opposition to these types of horrendous and wasteful bills.

Nice to meet you @mattie22 , and Welcome! Your feelings are very normal.  I felt much the same at the beginning of my Journey.  But, in fact it is a 'journey' that is unique to each of our individual lives.  There is not a specific or pre-determined destination.  That's up to you to discover as you find your way. You already received some great Encouragement here.  I hope stay with us, and you will both discover and contribute.  Deeps breaths ... one step at a time

Incredible news for transgender and abortion providers and patients in Maine. Despite violent threats, Gov. Janet Mills of Maine has signed a sanctuary bill into law. It even enshrines WPATH Standards of Care as protected by Maine.   https://twitter.com/ErinInTheMorn/status/1782894991368462520/photo/1

Basically my only source of validation is from close friends who know I'm trans 😅   I'm not a very masculine-looking guy in general, and I've had to stop binding due to pain, so strangers and physical validation aren't things I can get. My family still uses she/her pronouns and female terms with me, so there's not much validation at home, either.   I'm grateful I have friends that are willing to use my pronouns and such, though. It makes me feel a lot better.

I use my  chosen name online and when ever I can. I play some online game and only go by that name. That is how everyone there know me. Yes it does feel great to be called the name you prefer.

I was ten years old when my mom walked in on me frolicking around my room dressed up in her bra, panties, and some pantyhose. I had been doing this in the privacy of my bedroom for a little while now so I had my own little stash box I kept full of different panties, bras, etc ... of hers. My mom's underwear was so easy for me to come by and she was a very attractive woman, classy, elegant. Well when she walked in on me, she looked at me with disgust and said to me... "If I wanted to run around like mommy's little girl instead of mommy's little boy, then she was going to treat me like mommy's little girl."  She left my bedroom after telling me NOT to change or get dressed or anything and returned with a few of her work skirts and blouses and such. She made me model off her outfits for her and I have to admit ... I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. I felt so sexy, and feminine. And she knew I loved it.  She told me we can do this every weekend if I'd like. It would be OUR little secret.

The usual social ways, of course.  Taking care of my partners and stepkids, being involved in my community.  That makes me feel good about my role.   As for physical validation and gender... probably the most euphoric experience is sex.  I grew up with my mother telling me that my flat and boyish body was strange, that my intersex anatomy was shameful, that no man would want me. So experiencing what I was told I could never have is physical proof that I'm actually worth something.

<Moderator hat on>  I think that, at this point we need to get the thread back onto the topic, which is the judge's ruling on the ballot proposition.  If there is more to be said on the general principles of gendered spaces etc., please discuss them, carefully and respectfully, in separate threads. <Moderator hat off>
    • Abigail Genevieve
People who have no understanding of transgender conditions should not be making policy for people dealing with it. Since it is such a small percentage of the population, and each individual is unique, and their circumstances are also unique, each situation needs to be worked with individually to see that the best possible solution is implemented for those involved.
