I get some looks too, but...whatever.  I think I'm adorable. ?

I love your style! Black with white accents on the hat, shoes and necklace, purple glasses and scarf! No wonder you get some looks!

This was taken 16 years ago. I was in Charlotte, NC.

I was at the Betta Kappa Girls chapter meet. I'm on the far right, the little one.

By now I have been to many trans meetings, and many more to come.

I had learned so much from my peers, and it helped this time.

The lady on the far left is Meg, she was very new. She wanted more than just a meeting.

I ended up escorting her out. First the clubs, breaking the ice so to speak.

When all that was over I told we have one last stop. She freaked out when I pulled into the parking lot, asking me, are you sure?

I took her to Deny's restaurant. Main stream public. She had a very good time, her first time out in public, And I escorted her!!

Who felt better? Her or me? I have to admit I felt really good seeing her excitement, wow.

The important part of this story is all about the meetings, learning from others, I too was escorted out when I first came out.

I had a lot of help, then I went out on my own and a new world opened up.

I owe it all to the LGBT, I didn't learn on my own.

Groups are the only way to go when you are just starting out. Knowing there are others just like you is a huge help.

in the vane of "here's me warts and all". lol

It's football Sunday AND an electrolysis appointment.  Normally I wouldn't combine them but my electrolysis person has been training someone and told me to see her for free 90 minute sessions periodically as a training and I get the session for free so.....

Not pictured are my Dolphin's themed sneakers and white capris

Pfft. You look perfectly respectable. Also, I'm guessing that that's the numbing gel? Good luck with your appointment!

I wandered out of my comfort zone again. Sans skulls and a minimal amount of black.

I LOVE those colors on you though. Maybe you should invest in a skull pendant or earrings. You know, just so you never have to go without skulls completely.

Oh, or...

Grave Digger Skull Handbag by Killstar

Just carry it with you. https://www.inkedshop.com/products/grave-digger-skull-handbag-by-killstar-black

It also comes in pink if you're feeling girly.

Thats right  and just because you feel like it is reason enough.

Stopped by my neighborhood Goodwill and luckily found a few tops and some jeans which is odd because I rarely find any plus sized clothing in that one Goodwill.

I usually check that Goodwill for movies and electronic stuff or books,

There's a big goodwill a block from where I live now.  I recently bought some jeans and a small shelf stand there.

I'm feeling down.  Crying all the time, confused, uninterested.

I only wore this dress out once, on Easter, to a couple girlfriends house, 5 years ago (when I still had some friends to go to).  Now I don't wear stuff that doesn't cover the shoulders or hide my upper body.

I got it pretty good really.

Sorry im not more positive.  And for my lack of effort with hair and makeup.

Wondering how far I'll have to go with surgeries to help my "dysphoria"

Reaching out in the middle of the night that is my daytime.

You make that dress look great @Maddee! Thank you for sharing!

It sounds like you're having a tussle with the depression monster though. Is there anybody you can talk to? The depression monster is really hard to beat alone. At the very least, try to do something nice for yourself. Self care is super important when depression is trying to kick down your door.

No answer to the "how far" question though. That's personal. You just do what you need to to do feel right and it's different for all of us. I hope you find what you need.

Hugs!

I don't have anyone to reach out to.
Will keep looking- in the meantime I'll have to play halfass dress up and fish for compliments to keep going....

I don't know what the landscape is where you are, but over here when I feel sad and lonely I reach out to groups in the community. I'm introverted as heck, BUT I can mingle with other LGBT+ folks for a couple hours without coming off like a total freak. Are there any groups (I use Meetup, your mileage may vary) you could hook up with for something casual?

Chatting on the internet is great and we'll do everything we can, but at our heart, humans are social creatures. We really need that face to face connection to maintain our mental health.

Hugs!

Is there a trans group in your area?

Call the local LGBT pride center closest to you and ask them.

A local trans group really helped me to sort out my dysphoria.

I grew away from that group when they got too political and started taking sides on everything.

I still have my down moments but they aren't near as bad these days.

felt pretty good, and fierce, these past two days. My Friday outfit was a bit more subtle in real life because it was rainy and gloomy, not bright lighting as in the pic, but still very oooh la la!

Looking good @Emily Michele! I am MUCH too old for either of those outfits. Also, I work with autistic kids so that wouldn't work at ALL for professional apparel. ?

@Jackie C. I just turned 47 years old, and as my mama says, “you are only as old as you feel.” Are you really too old, or do you just think you are too old?
ever hear of a lady named Iris Apfel?

Don’t limit yourself with a number or a label. You’ve been unbending yourself from limits in other more difficult areas, why keep this particular restraint in yourself? I just buy and wear what I like… and I feel great and unstoppable in my clothes!

I'm thinking about some interactions yesterday I did, while presenting as male but acting as female, that were far better than I did when I was presenting as male and acting as male.  #girlunderhood. I do a crappy job at acting as male and I am giving it up.  I am not talking about feminine gestures or presentation but just relating as a woman.  People don't realize I am doing it but it is a whole lot easier to do.   You don't just put on a dress and BOOM you are a girl.  You are a girl and you put on a dress.  Or not. Whether I am in jeans or a skirt (I wish, wife would have lots to say) I am a girl.  I don't need $250 in makeup and heels and hose and all that.  I don't need surgery. Honey, I have arrived.  Now I have to work out how that best works in my life, causing the minimal damage and creating the maximum good, but I have more working room.   Oh, and I am still pissed off at everyone and everything. #Contradictory.

@Willow it is certainly possible that my husband planned it. Placing me in the path of an opportunity....he certainly does things like that. GF has done some work for the company as an outside consultant, so I'm sure the company owner knows what potential resources are around.    It could also have just happened randomly. He has taken me to work with him before, just because he likes to have me around. I remember one time that I fell asleep with my head in his lap, and he held a meeting with his subordinates without waking me and making me move.  The company culture is family oriented and relaxed.

The photo is great.  Software is phenomenal but it also is sort of a promise of things to come. Years ago this sort of thing took a photographer and Photoshop and all sorts of things and you would say, "I can look like THIS??"   Me, I am a duck.  That's from my driver's license.  Just kidding.

I lucked into that picture. I took like 10 before that, which appropriately make me look like a donkey. ;)   Thank you so much for the compliment!

This is a great analogy. The statement is true as it relates to the tree. The analogy fits because we as a LGBTQIA community are stronger when we stand together. It also work here on Transgender Pulse Forums. The support I feel from so many others has made me comfortable with my stance, because I'm in a beautiful forest of friends. So when I'm out alone and confronted. I can respond and act like the single tree in the field, surviving whatever comes my way. My roots reach back and communicate with others like me.    Standing Strong,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      M.   The term bigender works for me because after taking the time to explore my feelings, I kept coming to the same conclusion, that while I felt an overpowering need to express my inner woman, I also enjoyed being a man.  I realized that my personality was equal parts man and woman and to be happy and fulfilled, I needed to express both sides.  There are challenges living a life of two-gender expression, but I'll expand on some of those in future posts.     Hugs,   Sally

I thought Hey, I can't be experiencing Gender destroyer because it doesn't fit the narrative, but Hey I can. I am experiencing mild discomfort in relation to my gender. Because and that can be a form of mild form of it this forum because their elements of my gender that are out of alignment with my sign gender at birth. There are elements of my gender I have been holding back on some I did not even know for fear it did not fit was told was not very manly or in some other way not correct for someone who is an amab. I tried embracing and expressing some of these parts of me even for just a little bit every once in a while and it feels like a relief to me like a weight has been lifted.
