Kinda weird I’m getting hand-me-downs from someone 20-something years younger.

My first load of clothes came from a dead woman about twenty years my senior. They all fit and I cherish that my friend cared enough about me to grant me her mother's clothes. Someone loves you enough to clothe you. Age... meh.

Hugs!

I'm wearing this today. I have company coming over again so I glammed up a bit.

I also really love all the pictures the members post here.

@Elizabeth Star That's a nice top! I love anything with any kind of strappy detail like that.

My first share on this thread:

Here's what I wore for my virtual appointment with my GT today. I think the cardigan and skirt might be a little too much of the same-ish color, but overall I think it's not a bad early attempt at an ensamble.

20211020_130435.thumb.jpg.7a76bb07e8164de4319126dc51d04a07.jpg

The shirt came out looking blue in the photo, but really it's more of a green (gotta do something about those wrinkles though).

I've found that my favorite pieces are almost all from Torrid. So this just happens to be an all-Torrid outfit, including the (hard to see in this pic) necklace.

This is my close up. No filters, just me in the raw with the exception of make-up.

I'm 66+ old. I'm weathered, been through the grinders, but I made it through it al.

Was it worth it all? I don't even wonder about that, it was worth every moment and experience I went through.

And as long as I can, I will continue my journey.

BTW I owe the members here a close up, so many close ups here and where the heck is mine? LOL.

LM❤️

Today I’m wearing a turtleneck and a “fat lip“, or at least the appearance of one.

Its a turtleneck because a cold snap has descended on the region, and also because I had an appointment with an otolaryngologist this morning to talk about a tracheal shave. It hides the bump!

it’s a swollen lip from electrolysis on Tuesday. First time concentrating in this area for 45 minutes. Yikes!

Torrid (though I'm sad the stores closed), Avenue and Long Tall Sally are pretty much where ALL my nice clothes come from.

When I first came out  there was a young girl that worked at a store I frequented and as we got to know each other we started trading clothes and we eventually became shopping buddies.

Free clothes are always appreciated.

I have errands in town today so I chose this to wear.

When I get back home I'm going to scrub my nails with bleach then soft soap

and then the clear nail polish, it makes a big deference.

??Good☕️afternoon?️‍⚧️everyone?

I seen one of my old Battlion Chiefs at the training center this morning. He said, I look like a lumberjack from the front, and a lesbian from the back. ? ? He has no idea how true the statement is.

In his defense, this is how I was dressed for a light rain day.

Okay, I know the name of this thread is "What are you wearing today," but tomorrow, I am going out to dinner with a few girlfriends, so I'm already thinking about what to wear.  I think I'll be wearing a red, knee length pencil skirt, a black V-neck top and black knee hi boots.  Yippee, it's finally boot wearing weather here in New Jersey.

And ladies, let me just say, you all look so terrific.?

Sounds like a great outfit!  I busted out my knee highs last weekend.

...and ya, looking good ladies.

I just got back from Target, and noticed my body is beginning to give me away.  I think I'm in a place where the gender I'm presenting is largely in the eyes and ears of the beholder.  Not as cut and dry as I once thought it would be.

The other thing that might give me away is the fact that I dress like a girl, wear makeup, and carry a purse.  ?

Yesterday was my colleges 275th birthday.  They put an appeal out for pictures of yourself in school colors.  Doing orange and black was fun!

Boots  are out, and I’ve been playing with thigh highs and garters in my outfits. Incredibly sexy and I get more comments than usual. I’ve even had cis women ask for me to go shopping with them because they want to wear my style. The baristas at my coffee shop always look forward to my outfits. 9CA63648-8D0A-48DA-9A92-9946406A5AE6.thumb.jpeg.bf9ecfcab5a798ea41cfde297886ac15.jpeg2C55D97D-E447-4A93-B394-ADBA02100C01.thumb.jpeg.93d797b63520cb15792bd23fa84b713c.jpeg1ECA008A-9D77-47F2-9B6C-CDA4D7D50B5D.thumb.jpeg.d77dac7e8a8f998f2fdae66e984925c6.jpeg

While I haven't been out of school nearly that long. This spring is 18 years. I come from a town of 1000 people. My class only had like 23 people in it. We are also the last class from the school to graduate as they joined with another school down the road.    Here is where It gets weird. My class was the only one in 70 or so years of them being around. That had the first gay person, and since I've come out of the closet last year. The only trans person.

I was on Mylan for my last prescription fill. Before that was Alora.  The Mylan was nice and tiny compared to what I have now.   Kymmie

Heh! You have that right. I am continually amazed at the instant understanding and patience of people when I point at my throat and shake my head while motioning "I can't speak".   Give me a couple of hours, I'll write up a comprehensive review of my experience at Haben's clinic. I should do this all in MS Word and save them. My previous was lost in the server crash.
    • Mmindy
I hope you are doing well, and guess you’ll become a quick note writing expert in the coming weeks, as you resist taking while you heal.

Thank you for sharing. I couldn't stop after all; I just couldn't hold out very long for similar reasons to those that you shared. So I decided to just be open with my wife and tell her that I have to proceed.   All of this is bewildering to me, since I have been able to plan and control so much of my life up until my dysphoria surfaced. If this were a sporting match, the score is now Dysphoria 10 vs. Nimue 0.   I am mostly content to be losing this battle. However, I am not always so resolute and struggle with moments of panic an doubt, yet these moments do pass and I feel more sure each time.

I just got confirmation of being enrolled in Sephora's online "Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community"! I don't have many people I can share this with who might understand how exciting this is for me, so I am celebrating with you! I hope you don't mind.   Happy dance!   Nimue

I couldn't stop if I tried.  My dysphoria had gotten to the point that just the thought of not being able to live as a woman mad me almost suicidal. I hate every "male" aspect of my being so I'm fast tracking full medical transition. My world supports me but it has also cost me my marriage. We tried counseling. She absolutely wants me to transition but couldn't "transition" into a lesbian and the loss of a male partner left a large hole in her emotionally. We realized we both deserve someone whom we are attracted to and is attracted to us.  Still great friends but that was the price of being my authentic self. I'm lucky that she never wanted me to compromise, doing so probably would have killed me slowly. Everyone has their own journey and their own thresholds for what they are willing to do, or need to do in order to survive and live fully.   My advice is simple, if these compromises are tolerable for you and you are mentally OK with them the great.  On the flip side, if they are just an attempt to appease your spouse but they are emotionally painful for you then you need to reevaluate why you are compromising.  I've seen a lot of people compromise their transitional goals out of fear they will lose someone but even then, they don't "fix" the relationship. It just stagnates and resentments occur on both sides. Couples therapy helps you both see where things truly stand and why you are deciding to slow down or why you are being asked to slow down.   I HATE the fact that I've lost my wife, we had an amazing mariage. But we also realised, it wasn't going to survive without resentments. It was out of respect for each other we split. (also why we still love each other and are friends) My life will be harder and sadder without her, but I will also be able to flourish at some point as my authentic self, free to be me without the fear of hurting someone or myself.

I heard this interview this evening on my local public radio station. Warning; this is a very emotional interview in which everyone cries. They are making a tv series on this ministers life. https://www.cpr.org/show-episode/nov-26-2021-transgender-pastor-shares-revelations-in-as-a-woman/
