@Erica Gabriel, you look like one those real sweet old ladies you occasionally meet when shopping.  Like...you're smiling, you look relaxed, your outfit says "casual but classy," and you've been shopping at wherever you are long enough to probably know where things are better than the employees.  Totally love it!

Did you just call her old?  😬    lol.

Me and the wife had a pretty good laugh about this last night. She now calls me her “old lady”. Too most younger folks I’m ancient.

Thank you, except for the “old” part 🤪

I’ll let you know when you can come out of “time out” 🤣. It was taken in good humor. No worries ❤️

I got a couple new sweaters and a friend bought me a pair of boots. I wore this to an LGBT group tonight. Just ignore the dog beds in the background.

Very nice @Elizabeth Star!  I need some boots like that.  Love the sweater to, but I think you're pulling those colors off way better than I could.  And did you do your nails yourself or go somewhere to have them done?  I could always use tips for the nails.  Mine are horrific, but no where near as clear and clean as yours look there.  Also, are the pants leggings or just a skinny fit cut sort of deal?  I really need to consider doing something with my hair...  You're like the 4th or 5th person in the past few days that was sharing pictures sporting colors.  It looks so nice!

Here's my latest efforts.  I was a little stir crazy and wanted to get out for a bit.  The only issue I have is with the hoodie.  Not for any negative reason, I love to wear it.  It's just way to warm/hot down here (I'm in Florida) like 98% of the time for wearing it to be a viable option.  Given how easily and excessively I tend to sweat, I can't get away with this as often as I would like to.

Been a little while since I posted any pics here, but this is a couple from yesterday. I love the look of jeggings/jeans but due to my "apple" shape I really struggle to keep them up even though I have a belt (I only buy jeans/jeggings that have belt loops). For this reason I tend to prefer dresses.

I usually wear a lot of black but have been trying to wear other colors. I got my nails done for the first time last weekend. I've never had them this long before. I like them but it's a real challenge to type and almost impossible to text. The bottoms are just cheap active wear leggings. I rarely wear jeans anymore.

You gals make me a bit jealous.  You look lovely!

I'm sitting here in long undies, jeans and chamois cloth shirt before bundling up and heading out to do chores and prepare for an incoming storm.  Tomorrow similar layers with insulated Cahart coveralls under coats.  I'll be sitting on an open tractor plowing snow.  I do have a lovely pink down jacket i may use as a top layer.  Oh well , the sheep don't care how i look as long as they get food and water.

Hugs,

Charlize

I have been seriously considering getting my nails done.  The psoriasis is frustrating though.  It has stunted their growth and left them more brittle.  And I am totally  with you on darker pallets.  I usually fo with sapphire or emerald.  I make exceptions for pink though.  Gotta have my pink.   I don’t know if I could wear the active ware as well as you are.  Still going to try though. 🤗

Loving the looks you have going on!  Is that *your* or something like a wig?  Definitely a fan of it either way.  The way you have it put up.  Your look as a whole is wonderful!  That coat also looks super comfy.  I’m slightly jealous though. 😂

You are pulling off that shirt in the second picture with grace and that “classy but casual” look.  I seriously doubt I could get it to work for me like it is for you.

It's one of many wigs. But it wasn't until recently that a wig specialist showed me how I can style a wig in a number of ways. There are limitations, but there are quite a few different ways I can have my shoulder length wigs. In this case it was held up at the back into a short pony tail using a scrunchie.

I agree with @Charlize

Everyone looks great. I’m about to go out and clear the sidewalks and driveway of snow. It’s 20•F here so it’s about warmth not fashion this morning.

Quit the job I was hating yesterday. Still going in for a couple of weeks to take care of a client because I said I would but... behold! One of the few remaining pictures of me in my work garb!

That's great @Jackie C.

I'm partially retired, having started my Teamsters and CLTL pensions. My business partner and I have agreed to keep our small two person company going strong in 2022, but once I reach full SS retirement age. I'm out of here.

Best wishes, stay positive, and safe,

Snap - I quit my job today. Loved the job but fed up with my requests for some small recognition for my contribution to their profits being recognised. Not had a pay rise in 12 years! I chose time of leaving to be at the most critical stage of a major project. Be interesting to see what they say. But I shall be very happy to throw any last minute offers back in their faces. I'm choosing retirement instead. I love your hair by the way and it's cosy casual look you've got going.

Niamh, there is life after retirement. You may even find it more rewarding to volunteer for your favorite charity.

Best wishes,

My partner would absolutely love your hair.  They’re quite taken with anything moving towards any sort of purple.  You look comfortable too.  Is that a scarf around your neck?

People who have no understanding of transgender conditions should not be making policy for people dealing with it. Since it is such a small percentage of the population, and each individual is unique, and their circumstances are also unique, each situation needs to be worked with individually to see that the best possible solution is implemented for those involved.
    • Abigail Genevieve
No.  You are getting stuck on one statement and pulling it out of context.   Trans kids have rights, but so do non-trans kids.  That conflict is best worked out in the individual situation.
    • MaeBe
I get the concept, I believe. You're trying to state that trans kids need to or should be excluded from binary gender spaces and that you acknowledge that answers to accommodate those kids may not be found through policy. I disagree with the capability of "penetration" as being the operative delimiter in the statement, however. I contest this statement is poorly chosen at best and smacks of prejudice at worst. That it perpetuates certain stereotypes, whether that was the intent or not.   Frankly, all kids should have the right to privacy in locker rooms, regardless of gender, sexuality, or anatomy. They should also have access to exercise and activities that other kids do and allow them to socialize in those activities. The more kids are othered, extracted, or barred from the typical school day the more isolated and stigmatized they become. That's not healthy for anyone, the excluded for obvious reasons and the included for others--namely they get to be the "haves" and all that entails.
    • Abigail Genevieve
Context.  Read the context.  Good grief.
    • MaeBe
Please don't expect people to read manifold pages of fiction to understand a post.   There was a pointed statement made, and I responded to it. The statement used the term penetration, not "dissimilar anatomy causing social discomfiture", or some other reason. It was extended as a "rule" across very different social situations as well, locker and girl's bedrooms. How that term is used in most situations is to infer sexual contact, so most readers would read that and think the statement is that we "need to keep trans girl's penises out of cis girls", which reads very closely to the idea that trans people are often portrayed as sexual predators.   I understand we can't always get all of our thoughts onto the page, but this doesn't read like an under-cooked idea or a lingual short cut.

I shopped online in the beginning of transition. I had great success with SHEIN and Torrid!

Have you read the rest of what I wrote?   Please read between the lines of what I said about high school.  Go over and read my Taylor story.  Put two and two together.   That is all I will say about that.

"I feel like I lost my husband," Lois told the therapist,"I want the man I married." Dr. Smith looked at Odie, sitting there in his men's clothing, looking awkward and embarrassed. "You have him.  This is just a part of him you did not know about. Or did not face." She turned to Odie,"Did you tear my wedding dress on our wedding night?" He admitted it.  She had a whole catalog of did-you and how-could you.  Dr. Smith encouraged her to let it all out. Thirty years of marriage.  Strange makeup in the bathroom.  The kids finding women's laundry in the laundry room. There was reconciliation. "What do we do now?" Dr. Smith said they had to work that out.  Odie began wearing women's clothing when not at work.  They visited a cross-dressers' social club but it did not appeal to them.  The bed was off limits to cross dressing.  She had limits and he could respect her limits.  Visits to relatives would be with him in men's clothing.    "You have nail polish residue," a co-worker pointed out.  Sure enough, the bottom of his left pinky nail was bright pink  His boss asked him to go home and fix it.  He did.   People were talking, he was sure, because he doubted he was anywhere as thorough as he wanted to be.  It was like something in him wanted to tell everyone what he was doing, and he was sloppy.   His boss dropped off some needed paperwork on a Saturday unexpectedly and found Odie dressed in a house dress and wig.  "What?" the boss said, shook his head, and left.  None of his business.   "People are talking," Lois said. "They are asking about this," she pointed to his denim skirt. "This seems to go past or deeper than cross dressing."   "Yes.  I guess we need some counseling."  And they went.

You look wonderful!!! A rose among the roses.

Mine would be SHEIN as much as I have bought from them lol.
    • MaeBe
This is the persistence in thinking of trans girls as predators and, as if, they are the only kind of predation that happens in locker rooms. This is strikingly close to the dangerous myth that anatomy corresponds with sexuality and equates to gender.
    • Abigail Genevieve
At the same time there might be mtf boys who transitioned post-puberty who really belong on the girls' teams because they have more similarities there than with the boys, would perform at the same level, and might get injured playing with the bigger, stronger boys.   I well remember being an androgynous shrimp in gym class that I shared with seniors who played on the football team.  When PE was no longer mandatory, I was no longer in PE. They started some mixed PE classes the second semester, where we played volleyball and learned bowling and no longer mixed with those seniors, boys and girls together.

Grey short sleeved dress under a beige pinafore-type dress.  Black thigh highs (probably look like tights).  It was cool this morning so a light black colored sweater.

People love bureaucracy.  It makes everything cut and dried, black and white, and often unjust, unmerciful, wasteful and downright stupid.
