What are you wearing today?

Why would a day centre have a dress code, sounds very odd?  I am not sure what kind of centre it is, please forgive my ignorance.  It just sounds weird and probably discriminatory.

Nursing home level-of-care, outpatient homecare and day-centre. They are Christian based, and very far-right orthodox Christian! They did have mandatory 'revivals' until I complained (I'm Jewish). I'm allowed to wander the halls whilst service are in session.

They have made it very clear they don't condone 'gender bending'. So AMAB means I must dress at least androgynous.

The swelling on my leg is getting bad enough that wearing slacks is getting hard. My calf just won't fit down them.

I know the day-centre doesn't allow me to wear a dress here, but I'm out of winter choices. Shorts aren't going to work here shortly.

Looks like I'll be wearing long dresses anyways. I'll modify a blanket into a blanket/skirt on Sunday. 🤔

Yikes they really need to get rid of those stupid rules.

I just got back from a bra fitting and, have been wearing the wrong size.  So glad to have something that fits now following years of hating wearing the things.

Speaking of bras, and for those of us who still spend (a lot of?) time presenting as male, I've been wearing light support bras sold by a well-known company that offers transgender fashion under my clothes to help stave off the dysphoria. While they have been effective, they are pricey for their construction. As an alternative, I've found sports bras are effective, especially when they have some light padding - but also not as evocative of or offering the sensation of wearing a traditional bra.

My wife and I were at Sam's Club the other day - a good source for some of my clothes at lower prices - and I spotted a two-pack of Member's Mark branded adjustable bralettes. They come in a size that fits my band width - 42" - XXL with just a light padding and a variety of colors. At $20 for the pair I decided to buy a pack and try them out.

While not the most elegant, they are comfortable, fit well, and provide me with the sensation of wearing a traditional bra that is discreet for under my normal clothes with just a hint of padding. I wore one comfortably yesterday for hours under a t-shirt with no one noticing. Perfection for me.

I actually found another pack on eBay for $17 delivered so I ordered two more.

I've found that as I've let my natural hair grow out, my wig fits better. And, since the color of my wig matches my natural hair, I can let it out from under the cap, especially in the back, to add body to the look.

That really has helped keeping the wig from sliding around or feeling bunched up.

I didn't think of that. I just wanted to go with a nice looking wig which is definitely not my natural hair color.

Curled my hair a bit with the diffuser, minimal makeup, fairly androgynous blouse from Torrid, shorts, and black stockings.

Just dressed for another day at the day-centre.

You are so much better than me I suck with anything that has to do with my hair and I had to comb it out but diffusers curlers I’m a mess,. Nice job

I'm wearing a skort with a white base that's covered in multi-colored flowers along with a yellow t-shirt and pink flip-flops. The last gasp of hot weather here. Next week I'll be in a sweater or a sweatshirt.

I love squirts. I’m so glad they came back when they originally came out I hadn’t transitioned yet I missed out.. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with the sweater either.  It’s nice and the cool weather comes here..  and then get to pull out my cute winter clothes

Not feeling great in myself today, but I have a nice outfit. Black short sleeved button up, cloth belt, cowboy boots, bolo tie, and my work jeans.

Looking good. It’s a nice classic look.

My natural hair falls to my shoulders, but there just isn't much on top.  I have a couple of inexpensive wigs that I wear (or hats and such).  The wigs are grey, as is my own hair, so if a bit slips out it's not very noticeable.

I resisted getting a wig for a long time, but a cis friend talked me into trying one.  As soon as I put it on I loved what it did for me.

My new 48DDD bra, I think I could have gone a 46 band instead. It fits a bit loose in the band on the third set of hooks. The cups are full but not too full, so cup size is fine.

I'm not losing weight, but I seem to be losing inches.

Thanks @Sally Stone for a recent reminder of this style time of year.

I might have missed it and gone straight from summer to igloo..

I didn't leave time for myself to get ready today, so this is what I came up with. A blue kurta, grey vest, and blue jeans. I love colour-coordinating, but these specific shades don't necessarily go together as I would like. I do however, like how my hair turned out this morning.

Sorry to hear that.  Take some allergy meds.   I had the same experience when my brothers and I were cleaning out our father's house.  He hadn't cleaned since his wife died 9 years earlier.  This was long before covid so I didn't have a mask handy.  Fortunately, his neighbour was a nurse and gave me a mask to wear.  Definitely mask up if you have to go back there.

Well, just when I thought I'd turned a corner....the bus hits me.   I've been working with an aging aunt and uncle for almost two years. My uncle was in memory care nursing and passed away last October. My aunt was in and out of the hospital, rehab and her apartment for most of that time. I finally convinced her that she needed to be in skilled nursing and moved her to a facility close to us.   Since then I've been working to get her apartment cleared, cleaned and transition her to Medicaid.    I've spent the last two days at her apartment - a 1.5 hour drive each way - having it cleared and then cleaning it. SHe just wasn't able to clean for herself and the apartment was filled with dust and grime. Last night, after breathing it all in all dal I think I set off an allergy and I have been sick as a dog. Sore throat, congestion, tired, I've slept almost all day and, as my wife has told me several times, I look like hell.   This is really the first I've sat with my Surface all day...and I'm in bed.   Tuesday, I drive back down to have the final inspection and turn in the keys.   Our puppy is now 14 weeks and almost 30 pounds. She had a vet visit on Thursday for her distemper booster and the vet said she is "perfect." She's totally house trained and on her way out of the Velociraptor phase. What a doll she is.   Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!!!

Glad you are going to a Pride picnic.  I never know in advance what I am going to get to do.  And by the time I do know it’s too late to sign up.  Working is the pits but I am making progress towards being able to quit once and for all, again.  I just don’t know what I’ll be able to do after I’m no longer working because I had to give up all the things I liked to do.   the only way I get a particular day off is to schedule way in advance such as my doctors appointments and church things.  Which reminds me I have some future events I need to put on my need off schedule for October and January.     het @Mmindy just a little play humor there.  Our dog is getting older but as a puppy she was all but housebroken when we picked her up. Just needed to learn a new environment and we had to learn her puppy signals.  We put in an underground fence and she learned to recognize the warning without getting zapped.  When we took her to obedience school she was a quick learner for all but the reason we took her, don’t jump up on people. Learned to Use a bell.  Learned to open lever doors to go out and in.  Still doesn’t like going out in the rain.  Taught us how to interact with her sign language.  And has been a very smart dog.  Her sister is still kept in a cage when no one is home.  Sweetie doesn’t even have one.   best dog ever but will be our last dog when her life ends.  Best to end being dog parents with your best dog.  And yes she is a family member, not a pet.   Willow

@Willow since my wife and I drink different coffee blends, and the puppy gets me up way earlier than I had become accustomed to in retirement. He and I are up and sharing the morning alone, because the wife still sleeps in.    Parker had the last of his puppy vaccinations and wellness check up yesterday weighing in at 24.2 pounds at 13 weeks old. He’s responding well to training and is mostly potty trained. We’re using the sleigh bell method for marking the door to get outside, and waiting for him to bark at the door before letting him in. He understands not to rush the door or gate when we’re moving through them.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
