Hey all! My names Becca, im a 38 year old Transgender Woman from Ireland.

Ive struggled with gender most of my life though didnt fit into the supposed norms for it( never played with dolls etc so ive been repeatedly told) As a young teen i used to cry myself to sleep because i knew i was ment to be a girl, i was bullied a lot in school and in general so i bottled those feelings for fear it would make me more of a target. Over the years those feeling surfaced but i kept pushing them down making my mental health worse and worse. 

Scroll ahead to 9-10 months ago i was at the peak of my depression and anxiety, drinking pretty heavy too.

I went in search of answers and finally was honest with myself. 

Scroll forward again and here i am, out to my family, accepted in work and out to the rest of the world as me, Rebecca! 

Im just under 6 months Hrt, living my life like i always should have. Im married to a lovely woman and we are pretty strong together, honesty and communication is the key, plus buckets of love!

I never really played with dolls much either as a kid, but most of us here can probably relate to struggling with gender our whole lives. I'm glad that your wife is so accepting and loving. That's pretty awesome!

I'm happy that you've joined us Becca.  Accepting myself and coming out to the world has made me so much happier as you describe.  Glad you are honest and open with your wife.  That was hard for both my wife and i but time has helped bring us even closer as we grow older together.

Despite the problems of many years, I'm glad you've figured some of it out now.

 

I envy you that you figured it out at 38.  If I had figured it out then ... so may things might have been different.
