I believe this is state #3.  The others are Arkansas and Mississippi.  Its so nice to know that its so much safer for cis-girls now that a non-existent crisis has been ended.

In order to participate in school sports a preteen child needs to impregnate another preteen child to for both of them to play school sports?  That is how this bill can be construed, and it can really get ridiculous.  Even the seeming right genitalia does not do the job.

I'd love to see what happens when a 17-18 year old FtM trans youth signs up to play girls softball, or any other sport, for that matter.  Not that any would, but it would be interesting just the same.

LOL

Of course we all realize this has nothing to do with sports anyway.

OK

I was thinking about that one myself.  I read a couple of pieces on Face Book about his POV on this.

I saw this being mentioned on reddit. As some one who played competitive stick and ball sports most of my child hood. I'm kinda mixed about this, and got ripped a new one by a few people over there. Who probably don't know how munch stronger a 15 year old boy is compared to even a 15 year old girl. Let alone how munch stronger a 18 year old man is then the same 15 year old boy. There is a reason why boys sports leagues are based on real small age groups after 10.

I said I personally don't find it fair for the girls. If a trans girl who went through male puberty is on the other team. I feel like it's fair if she had been on blockers, and hasn't experienced male puberty. I also said a ftm would be at a disadvantage compared to a 18 year old man of the same height and weight. I then was told he can take hormones to be as strong. Yes they are correct, but the avg puberty age for boys is 12. He has a 4 year head start on development, and he might never catch up in strength with a cis male.

In the end If I had a daughter. I would be upset if she had to compete against any one. Trans or not that has had testerone in their system period because I know what it advantage is. I'm all for equal rights, but I also feel this has to be put in to palce to save girls sports.

What about youth level sports "transitioning" to Non-gendered competitive sports categories.  We everybody regardless of gender identity is allow to participate and compete and the "level" of the category you are competing in is based on ability, not gender.
This is done already in things like Varsity vs JV levels, and a multitude of minor-league levels in baseball.

This would be good even for cis-gender youth who maybe don't have the physical attributes in their age bracket to compete at the higher levels (puberty hits everybody differently).  I was like that in my teens.  I loved sports but I could never match up with my cis-male peers.

I thought I might be crazy to think this is possible until I found this article ..

but as @Jandi said, this legislation really has nothing to do with sports ?

It does get complicated.  Of course a lot of these bills would also prohibit puberty blockers.

I do have some mixed feelings on the sports issues myself.  But I feel sports are only being used as an excuse to scapegoat the trans youth community.  Criminalizing trans medical care is kinda oppressive IMHO.  And forcing teachers to out trans kids to a hostile family is… well, cruel and dangerous.

It already evident that teenage girls are being allowed to play football in some high schools. I also know that there should be allowances for trans girls to play in girl sports but also that there should be a sizing and strength similarity between the cis and trans. We need to find some form of common ground for all people and we need to tell those in charge. Our government needs to know that. I am, personally, a transgender athlete in bowling. I am looking forward to joining the women's division soon. So my point is if there is equal abilities in both the cis person and transgender person, let them play.

Don't some sports have "Handicaps"?

There are in most bowling but I have seen some leagues with no handicap and cis women who could out bowl me on any given day. As for regular junior high and high school sports, no there aren't. I am working toward PBA and there is no handicaps used there.

And I was saying this as without any handicap added.

Oh, I totally believe you.

As the parent of 6 daughters - don't underestimate the girls.

https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/several-attorneys-general-made-abusive-legal-demands-get-trans-patient-rcna147910     This is a complex issue and I'm no expert, but the actions of these GOP Attorney's General don't pass the smell test.  Their motivations and actions are highly suspect and they lack any credibility.  What else is new, right?  I guess it will all come out in the inevitable court fight.   Carolyn Marie

I went to work with my husband today.  He asked me this morning if I wanted to go...of course I said yes.  I enjoy being with him, and getting away from the house for a little while.  He spent half the day in his office, which I think is why he asked me along.  He made a nest in the corner for me, where I can plug in my laptop and do my stuff...nobody minds me being there.     But today ended up with a strange opportunity.  I had a conversation with my husband's boss, the company owner.  They want some basic graphic design work done, so I think they might hire me to do it.  Nothing fancy, not nearly as complicated as what I've attempted to do for our county.  So I have a meeting with them on Monday, just to look at some details and see if I can do the work they want.  And especially talk about when they need it done, because I still work pretty slowly.  I don't really need or want the money, but its nice to feel like I can do something again.

I went to WM today with the objective of buying sandals: they would be women's, but look like men's; they would be brown or black, not white.  I realized the cheapest way to go  was to go for flip-flops, which I observed were prevalent in the store. So I checked out the women's.  Flowers. White shiny straps. Nothing that could possibly be men's. The best deal was one flip flop for $3.98.  At first I thought that was a pair, then, nope.  And because I comparison shop (is there the same thing in men's?) I found the cheapest over there was $6.98 for a pair of flip flops in green that also match my women's cargo shorts that I love.  Doing the math, finding the pink tax.  Rip off.  I have found a blue tax this way, but usually they charge women more for something than they do men. I guess women tend to lose one flip flop at a time or something. Weird.  The pairs were a lot higher.   So, following my rule, but unhappy with it, I bought the green men's flip flops.  They were the cheapest.  Later wife of mine complimented how masculine I look in my matching shorts and flip-flops.  Inward groan. We have not discussed the Subject in a long time because I think she forgets it is there as soon as the conversation ends.  Or she is trying to talk me out of this.  Not sure.  We only discuss it when necessary, and how often do most couples discuss whether one spouse is one sex or the other? Outside of here, I mean.  So we very seldom talk about it and she is happier if she does not know about it. Super stealth.  I do the laundry and I shower in the shower in the wing away  from the master bed room so I have my own shower.

I'm very glad that everything worked out even better than you thought. It's a tough spot to be in and I know the exact feelings. I'm still waiting to apply for divorce under abandonment so I officially can meet someone who one day I can call someone my prince or my queen. Although the desire for someone is fading because of everything. it's even more amazing that she was your high school sweetheart! Looking forward to the next entry.

Awww thanks for listening everyone. I have another 5-6 songs in this style that I started recording at the same time, so hopefully I’ll finish the next release soon.   Yes, exactly. Everything was easier about this project, mainly because it felt authentic. The energy was very different, because it was such a pleasure to express myself without a filter. I laughed a lot.

Thanks for listening @Mmindy.   You’re welcome @April Marie. I think Sally Can’t Dance is an underrated album.
