Don't buy these.

Don't buy any of them silicone cleaning pads. That are ment for cleaning brushes. I bought one, as I have about 30 brushes. That need cleaning about twice a a month or so.

I figured yes that will save time. In reality it takes longer. Especially when the product builds up on the pad. Since its silicone. The product just sits on top, and really dosn't wash away. Even with water running over it.

Just use dish soap, a non toxic cleaner like simple green, or brush soap, and your hand. Pro tip do powders first. As they generally wash off under water in your hand. Do liquids last especially if you use a foundation brush. That brush will take the longest to get clean, and will usually be the worst.

Yes, I use pretty much the same - Liquid soap in the palm of my hand and just swirl around and rinse. I don't always use the best quality brushes but do find they are far better with less lost bristles. I use paintbrushes quite often, both for painting and makeup (not the same brushes lol). With my paintbrushes I use saddle soap to clean them. I suspect it would work well with makeup brushes but have never tried it.

You too?  I once worked in an art supply store, so a lot of my eye and blush brushes are made by Windsor & Newton or Grumbacher. They work pretty well. lol

I have brushes ranging from like 5-25 dollars. With the avg being around 10, so I wouldn't say I'm spending a lot on brushes my self. I don't paint my self, but when I started I bought a lot of junk brushes. That worked really well for cleaning the inside of my car.

I usually use a tea tree cleanser that is a budget brand works just the same as the higher priced makeup brush washes.

I have started using dawn dish soap. That really cleans everything well. It knocked my cleaning time in half.

I have had great success with Dawn dish soap as well.  It cuts the makeup really well and seems to leave my brushes in good condition.  Rather inexpensive as well.

My only issue is it makes them clumby, but simply beating them against a finger. In a up and down motion. Usally gets out the last of the water, and soap

Hey @Heather Shay the Ramones provide a neat segue to L7, an all-girl grunge-era punk band I've been listening to a lot lately. Their big hit was "Pretend We're Dead", but I've only just discovered the earlier album, Smell the Magic, produced by Jack Endino of early-Nirvana, Green River and Screaming Trees fame. L7 rock!

Many people I know in the UK have gone down the private medicine route to transition and that's fine if they can afford it. But many others simply cannot. A few have basically put themselves in a position where they will be working until they drop to pay for GRS.  I started work at 15. The first job I had that paid a decent wage, I only got when I was in my mid 40s, then due to health issues I had to quit that which is how I got into making a living in music but that's been pretty much hand to mouth.  So my only route would have been via the NHS and that's usually a long wait.

There are definitely pros and cons, but my particular conformity is neither a blessing or curse, it's just me. Not my fault people in society have low tolerance for my existence. I feel I'm cursed with allergies, and a fate to be stuck on a planet full of overly big headed animals that are destructive, complain a lot, and are fickle.
    • Marcie Jensen
I think it's a bit of both, actually. The blessing part comes from being one's self, being given greater insight into how different people think and see themselves as well as having a greater understanding of who we are as individuals. The curse part, well, it comes from being marginalized and the frustrations associated with a general lack of acceptance by society at large.   It's funny @Heather Shay. This thread brought an old Kris Kristofferson song to mind. It's called "The Pilgrim: CHapter 33." There's a line in it that says: "...Never knowing if believing is a blessing or a curse, or if the goin' up is worth the coming down."  For some reason, not sure why, this seems apt with regard to your question. Mostly, I believe the going up (transition) is more than worth the coming down (prejudice, fear, hate, etc) that we all experience.

Do you think being different from society's norms in regard to gender or sexual orientation is a blessing or a curse?

I have been in Colorado several times and one of the beautiful sights is the Rocky Mountains which have rocks.Sadly, they have an elected rep who has the same intelligence as the rocks, but is nowhere near as nice to be around.  Good for AOC.
    • Carolyn Marie
Thanks, @Jamey.    Yes, AOC doesn't put up with any b.s.  Boebert and her ilk enjoy stoking the flames while pointing their fingers everywhere else.   Carolyn Marie
