Happy Girl Dancing

It has been a very busy couple of weeks for me. It started with us FINALLY getting our 2019 tax returns (a week after filing our 2020) started a cascade of returns and stimulus payments. Lots of bills paid, some clothes shopping and other stuff. The clothes included my first dress, a nice jersey sheath dress, and my first swimsuit 🩱. The biggest news though.... drumroll..... I am officially in possession of a nice letter of recommendation for femme-n-m’s (Shamelessly stolen from @Jackie C.) I just have to wait til June for my endocrinologist appointment. Anyone got a time machine to skip me forward about a month and a half? 🤪😜

I would do some more dancing, but this girl is TIRED. Lol

That is all wonderful news Justine! I wish I had my time machine, but nobody returned it last time I lent it out, so I am kind of having the same issue, just about different stuff. Hopefully you can enjoy wearing your dress and swimsuit, and then your appointment will be here sooner than you know it.

That's OK, I shamelessly stole it from an article about nicknames for HRT. I also enjoy tit-tacs and anticisthamines. A month and a half isn't bad at all. The one I initially wanted had a SIX MONTH waiting list. However there was this newer doctor in the same program who practiced about twenty minutes farther away... I went with her and the wait was only a couple months. It's hard, but you've got this.

Hugs!

That is so funny and clever Jackie.  I'd never heard antihistamines before.  I'll definitely pass it on.

I can’t remember if I saw it on here or on the Mandalorian Merc forum, someone called them titty skittles.

More updates

I've been trying to see if I can get an earlier appointment with my endo but so far no luck, can't really go on the waiting list for cancellations because of my work schedule.  Got a gel nail kit ordered, supposed to be here sometime tomorrow.  Also got a new adhesive kit for my breast forms, so far it works great and I can go braless if I want to.  Spent the last couple of days playing "how in the heck does this go together?!" with a couple of exercise machines. But I got them together with only 5 spare parts (jk)

I had just about every breast form made in every material and size way back in the 80’s but I never splurged and bought a pair of those adhesive breast forms. I always wanted to try them but back then there was no internet to get reviews or ask anyone about them. Let us know how you like them. Are you able to jog, run, or go down a stairs and feel them move like the real thing? That’s what I was curious about so many years ago when I first heard they existed.

@Susan R according to the item description it is supposed to be a water proof bond. I just tried going without the bra today and after about 7 hrs they were still 90% attached.  The forms I got were originally adhesive but not very good, basically just enough to stay in place with a bra. I did t try anything crazy (yet) just wanted to see if they really would stay on without a bra. I will let you how they hold up during workouts and such as I try them.

Forms are the Y-NOT silicone breast forms in Nude-C from Amazon

Adhesive kit is here https://www.glamourboutique.com/buy/breast-forms/breast-form-adhesives/budget-breast-form-adhesive-kit

Well tested the adhesive kit again today, the kit seems to be good if you’re not doing much or if your wearing a bra but not much else. Going down the stairs the forms started coming off. Oh well at least I don’t have to worry about the forms falling out of my bra lol.

Yeah, mine didn't stick that well either, but I have the same problem with patches so it could just be my skin.

Oh momma! I am stressed this weekend! Finally got an extended weekend so we went south to Illinois to meet up with family.  Made the drive down today and most of them start coming in tomorrow. Met up with my Mom for dinner, she asked how I was going to be dressed because she “has a problem with me dressing feminine” I was just in jeans and T-shirt so it went ok. Had dinner, some nice conversation but it felt like there was an elephant in the room no one wanted to acknowledge.

Then I had to take both the boys to the bathroom. Apparently while I was gone Mom talked to my wife about my transition. My wife made several points about how much I had hated myself for bottling this all up, how suicidal I had been, and how much happier I’ve been since Justine came out.  She also pointed out that I have made so much improvement that my therapist released me to “as needed” instead of routine appointments. I’m not sure if it helped or not, but Mom seemed a little less tense when I came back.

As for the rest of the stress, I packed some of my makeup and my transformation accessories. All of my Dads side know about Justine but they haven’t actually seen me as her. So this weekend will be the first time they meet her. I’m nervous as hell but it’s got to happen at some point.

I am sure this is going to be super nerve wracking. I haven't done this yet with any of my family except my dad so far, and I haven't gone as far as doing makeup yet, so I have only given a taste of it up to this point. I am sure things will work out, however they are meant to happen. Try to just be yourself and enjoy the time. If it becomes too much, just pretend like you feel sick from last nights dinner, and either leave or get out of there to breathe. I am sure you have this.

Well I do believe I can file today under the “success” category. My brother was a little startled to see me as Justine and my niece didn’t quite know what to think, other than that no one really batted an eye. A couple minor questions about name and that was pretty much it. The surprise came at the end when my brother GF came up and offered to connect me with a friend of hers that started MtF transitioning 6 yrs ago. Chatted with her on messenger for a little bit, very nice lady.

Seems like the more nervous I am about something the better it goes lol.

Amazing how a short message can mean so much.

I am so happy for you Justine. What I would’ve done to see anything remotely close to that from my late father. That is such a wonderful acknowledgment of you! 🙂

Hi everyone    It’s been an day of ups and downs literally.  I spent the afternoon working on my boats engine install. I am so close it’s amazing.  I had to get some materials to shim the engine. I made the shims and was headed down into the salon to install them and my companion way ladder slipped and down I went. Didn’t do any more after that.  Rested on the couch, took ibuprofen and listened to the radio until I felt good enough to drive home.  Iced and rested at home.  I’m going to feel it in the morning for sure.   @Elizabeth Star that is certainly the confusing part when things are good one day and not another.    Everyone is different of course but I take this as a sign of trying to accept but it is difficult still.   Willow

How does substituting one form of bigotry for another help improve society? I find the concept of privilege to be 'acceptable prejudice'  that has been driven by political ideology. There is no question that there are significant inequalities in the world. There isn't a simple cause nor a simple solution. My goal is to have evidence before I judge someone. Human beings are extremely tribal thus less trusting of those that are different and reluctant to stray from their tribes world view.   I think we confuse entitlement with privilege. I worked in technology in the 70s, 80s and 90s when it was almost entirely a male field. In my personal experience, I was guilty of having preconceptions about women in technology that I learned over time were just bias. I preferred working with women because they more likely to discuss issues than dictate the solution. I did discover that those men that behaved with what we would now term privilege were mostly viewed with the same dislike by the women and men I worked with.

That's a bleak and dismal view of humanity; I don't buy it personally. Like I said, every group has upsides and downsides. One of the downsides of being a male is that it's only socially acceptable to feel three emotions; "Fine/Okay", "Angry" or "-excited-". If you express any other emotion, society labels you a wuss lol. ALL groups have upsides, downsides, good qualities and bad qualities. That's the nature of duality; that's the nature of yin and yang, that's the fundamental nature of the whole Universe. Trying to say any one group is "more" or "less" is....illogical lol. Especially in America where all Americans have the same Bill of Rights under the same Constitution.  One of the downsides of being white for example is that anyone who isn't white will probably automatically think you're a racist just because of the color of your skin; happens to me all the time. Didn't used to. I wonder why??? Kidding lol. I know exactly why racism against white people is on the rise. (Identity politics. It's divisive lol.) Hell, look at our school system (what's left of it.) A lot of teachers are leaving because of the "Critical Race Theory" bull crap that's being forced on them, because, for some baffling reason lol, teachers just aren't comfortable with teaching kids that there's something wrong with the color of their skin. They don't want to tell black kids that they'll never be good enough in the eyes of society. They don't want to tell white kids that they're inherently racist because of what their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. Why don't they want to teach kids these things? Because it's racist, and Contrary to what the left would have you believe, America isn't a racist country. The left is definitely a racist party though if you ask me; all they ever see is race lmao. And it's disgusting. They don't judge people based on the quality of their character; they judge them based on their race and gender...so they're SEXIST too lmao.  I know I'm probably a minority in my beliefs. I know it's dangerous to share my opinion. I don't care.  Nowadays it's dangerous to be anything but a super "woke" liberal socialist lol. Anyone with a different viewpoint is just a racist lmao. "Worse than Hitler!" 😆🙄 PS: Yeah, people in my country at least DID see other people as people. At least they did before Obama started telling everyone race was still a serious issue...despite becoming friggin' PRESIDENT lmao. XD I gotta love the hypocritical irony; just gotta laugh at it sometimes lol. Like when Biden said masks work but walls don't. That cracked me up lmao. XD Anyhoo....yeah, this country gonna get ran into the ground now. I'm just sitting back with a bucket of popcorn waiting for the new Civil War to begin so I can run for the hills to avoid my fate in the concentration camps lol.

ive tried before (with cousins) plus kind of with parents but nothing is working and i talked to a therapist before while i was feeling too different but that just led to talk to a therapist that like specializes in trauma because of how shy i can be   ive heard once before from an online friend i had before that each of us needs to take care of our selves the most not seek help. thats true but each one of us does need help too   but thinking back to before i was open i never needed help and im trying to not need help like before

Also I do care, I just am not in a position to help you, I was thinking someone like a parent or sibling.
    • rainflower
Ok Mary, then you need to tell someone that cares about you and get help, either thru hotline or hospital.
    • rainflower
Don't be blind to the issues, there is privilege based on race/sex/ethnicity/gender/economic status etc. and others suffer for it. There has never been a time in recorded history were people saw other people as people, the only difference is now these things are getting labels and brought into the light to be confronted.
    • Maddee
I sang a lot to cope.   Avoided manu passages of man life.  Didn't want to walk through them I guess.   Not surrendering to being entirely "normal" (as I percieved it) helped me.    My life matrix aided and abetted my escapade.  Especially prior to coming to terms and committing to transitioning.   That last part may sound strange, but Im not sure how else to express it..

Thank you for sharing the story, @Jandi.  It is unfortunate but entirely expected that such stories as yours will not play well in conservative-leaning communities.  Times change as well as attitudes, however slowly; the acceptance of gay marriage being the most obvious example.  Yet,  there are people who wish to roll back the clock on even that.  They will not succeed, because people have seen that gay marriages have not "destroyed the institution of marriage" as some predicted.  They will also come to see that trans people are not scary, and deserve equality and respect.  But it will take time.   HUGS   Carolyn Marie
