"In South Carolina, for example, Rep. Ashley Trantham said she knew of no transgender athletes competing in the state and was proposing a ban to prevent possible problems in the future. Otherwise, she said during a recent hearing, “the next generation of female athletes in South Carolina may not have a chance to excel.”

 

In Tennessee, House Speaker Cameron Sexton conceded there may not actually be transgender students now participating in middle and high school sports; he said a bill was necessary so the state could be “proactive.”

There seems to be two assumptions at play in the arguments you posted, @Jandi: first, that if even one trans athlete were to show herself anywhere in the state, it would mean that every cis-girl in the state would have her chances of success destroyed and female youth sports would have to end.  Second, that any trans athlete would dominate in whatever sport they chose and would wipe out the competition.  That is a lie, since it hasn't happened in any state where trans athletes are allowed to compete.  Sure, some female trans girls have had victories, but I know of none who have won every competition.

 

It is just a pack of lies, which the press seems totally unable to refute or even ask the proper questions.  It's all so frustrating.
