Cosmetic surgeon recommendations

Hi there,

I'm totally new here, but I've been out and open about being trans for a couple years now.  Recently, my financial situation shifted positively and I can actually start affording the cosmetic surgeries I want to have a body, face, and voice that don't make me feel terrible.  The problem is, I'm struggling to figure out which surgeons are good for which procedures, and who are trans friendly. If anyone can provide some recommendations, I'd really appreciate it.

Here's what I'm looking to get:

Brazilian butt lift*

Breast fat transfer*

Facial feminization surgery

Vocal chord feminization

Phallus preserving vaginoplasty

(*ideally with HD lipo, I really just want all my body fat in these two areas ?

I know this may seem shallow, and part of it is, but I want to feel comfortable in my skin, and I'm also in an industry that heavily favors aesthetics.

Thank you all so much, in advance.

~Freyja

You can start here on our main page, using the Resources choice https://www.transgenderpulse.com/

The next suggestion I can give is to contact your local LGBTQ Community Center's Trans programs group.  Those of us who are happy with the results we have, of course, will recommend our own surgeons.  Several members here have had one or more of them.  I have only had the GCS 8+ years ago, but no regrets of any kind.

I would recommend googling surgeons for each process and seeing what insurances they accept and their reviews as I assume you'd prefer a surgeon as close by as possible.

I would recommend against vocal chord surgery unless you are very young because vocal feminization exercises and a good coach can do wonders. There are some very good teachers on line as well. I recommend The Vocal Stylist - she has a wonderful series of videos on voice feminization.

I'm assuming you've been on HRT and seeing a therapist so that shouldn't be a barrier.  As far as plastics people, for the BA, fat redistribution stuff, that's not specific to Trans so anyone locally recommended will probably do you fine. Just call them and ask how much experience they have with transgender or go on their websites to look at their before/after pics. If they have a transgender section then you know they are friendly.  There aren't many people who specialize in Vocal fem surgeries so start with a google search and give them a call.  There's a doctor in Korea who basically wrote the book on it and the ones here in the states usually have gone to him for training.  I'm probably leaning toward Dr Spiegel in NJ to do mine. Take your time researching and don't be afraid to ask hard questions like "how many revisions" have you had to do.

I'm heading down this road this year as well but since I have Kaiser they have specific people they use. Johns Hopkins has a transgender center as do Oregon Health and Science University (OSHU) is very well known and respected for transgender surgeries.

Havent exactly researched surgeons doing phallus preserving vaginoplasty, but Wittenburg in San Francisco does offer them

So, I have the VA for my insurance, which means I'd be paying for everything out of pocket.  As far as looking to local providers, I haven't really found too many that impressed me, and none that I can tell from their pages are trans friendly (maybe they are, dallas does have a substantial queer population).

Hi @TheOdinsdottir Welcome to the group from a fellow Texas newbie. I hope I don't get in trouble for this but look in Austin at the Crane group as they specialize in transgender surgeries.

No trouble at all, we have other members who brag about their experiences there.

Do you know if they do breast fat transfer?  I can't see anything about that on their page.  I see something that looks like a BBL, and mentions of fat grafting, but nothing about boobs except implants.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
