Suggestions for a tall girl

Hi all!!!

 

so I’m on the taller side (6’2”) and proportionally weighted - I’m between 190 and 195 depending on the day. (I’d love to get down to like 160 but that’s for a different forum, lol. I’ve thought myself a cross dresser until recently so I’ve bought clothes to be worn in private and hence there are clothes I WISH I could pull off (short dresses, high heels, etc). But as I come to admit to myself that I am trans I’m wondering about what clothes are best for a tall woman like myself. I love dressing to the 9’s but I know that running errands doesn’t call for that though I still want to accentuate my assets.  Lol.  Any advice?

If you are able to thrift shop that is good. I've noticed other woman and their choice of clothes and found causal jeans, nice unisex tops and of course the right undies work very nice and over time I have been working on my style now that I no longer am in the hiding and dressing phase and I want to be just a reasonably well dressed lady. I found great deals at Walmart as well. It toof a while to get me right sizes and Amazon is good for helping there as well as just googling. I am 5' 10" so not exactly petite myself. I try to find clothes that DON'T accentuate my large shoulders. 

 

Good Luck and keep us posted as you delve into your new shopping. Maybe supply photos if you wish. There is a nice thread going called "What are you wearing today" and many ladies respond to that. I don't sadly because I'm not exactly feminine looking material, but that's okay - I'm happy with who I am finally and that is more important.

Ditto thrift stores and not accentuating large shoulders!

 

If we can lean out, I think we do better at passing as a lean female.  Not the case with all mtfs, but alot of us look a little burly/manly with extra lbs on.

 

As far as style, yeah, if you want to be public, even if you're not stealth level, I think there's a certain level of passing acceptability, if you display taste.  Women judge each other, and most people don't understand when a middle aged assigned-male--at-birth person starts expressing their style, coming from a pre-adolescent place. 

 

I (we?) want to be sexy and cute and recieve attention for it. 

 

 

In reality, I'm wearing alot of jeans, leggings, and shorts, because that's what most of the other females are doing...

 

Hide them shoulders

I have a few years on you and was your height.  If its any consolation you may lose a couple inches as you age.  I'm at an even 6' now.    There is a Goodwill in Seabrook that always seems to have a nice selection. Occasionally you can find nice slack or jeans in the correct length.   If you are handy, I've taken pieces that fit nice but are short and hemmed them into capris.  Same for shirts, but three quarter sleeves are a thing so not an issue.

 

A lot of brand's have Tall sizes just not in the stores (any longer).  I prefer to shop in person to ensure fit but online works.  I've had good luck with Banana Republic at the Kittery Outlet's.

 Maddee's advice is spot on!  We can tend to dress too young in looking to make up lost time but save that for the bedroom not in public.

When it comes to sliming shoulders try wearing v-necks.  That works for me unlike a scoop or boat neck.
