scared of telling my best friend

Dysphoria has been hitting me really hard this months, and honestly i can't take it anymore. So, i've been thinking of coming out to my best friend. I think if at least someone refers to me as male, dysphoria will reduce. But i'm still very scared. A lot of acquaintances have been coming out, so maybe she will think im just trying to fit in trends. I'm so afraid that she will treat me different and i don't wanna lose her, she's practically the only friend i have. I wonder if coming out will help me or make it worse

Hello @Kenma_kozume Have you talked to a gender therapist yet? If not that might be a better thing to do first. That way it is a safe way to discuss your dysphoria and get some help on how to approach your friend. For me I came out to someone I know who lived far away and I trusted but knew if he didn't accept me and I lost him as a friend, it wouldn't matter. That's how I did it and it helped me gain confidence - but I think having some help and guidance would be good.

It's always a hard decision but what I found is that me fears and worries were always way overblown and reality was always better.  That's not to say things always work out but most of the time, friends are much more accepting that you think.  Good luck and EVERYONE with gender dysphoria should really have a therapist to help navigate things.  I hope it goes well and we are here for you regardless.
