Places to go as a crossdresser

Recommended Posts

Until recently I've only crossdressed (MTF) in private.  Lately I've decided to afford myself more freedom in exploring my gender.  The idea of going out in public presenting as female really appeals to me.  I put a lot of effort into my dressing and have some good outfits/looks, but I'm not as passable as I'd like to be.  Most people would know I'm a crossdresser.  Where can someone in my situation go out fully dressed?

In my area there aren't really any crossdresser friendly clubs or establishments to go to.  I looked on meetup.com for groups to socialize with but there aren't any near me either.  I've considered using my vacation time to go to Las Vegas, as I've heard Las Vegas is a crossdresser's paradise.  I'm not sure of all the opportunities in Las Vegas, but from what I understand you can dress however you want and it won't raise any eyebrows.  I know Las Vegas has several MTF makeover services, and I'm sure there must be clubs friendly to our community.

I would love to hear anyone's experiences and suggestions.

I know Las Vegas quite well, and while for the most part you will be left alone as long as you are just out parading around the Strip, other places you can be in pretty risky territory.  Unless you know the city, it would not be my first recommendation.  It is always safer to be in a group at least the first few times you go out.

That being said, your best bet as #1 is to call a fairly local LGBTQ Center and find out what activities they may have at The Center.  Many of them have special CD support meetings and groups where you do have make-up parties or clothing modeling parties at the center or at a safe location where they hold meetings.

Next in line are going to be yearly Conferences or Conventions that are held in several places around the U.S.  This topic talks about one of them https://www.transgenderpulse.com/forums/index.php?/topic/84574-keystone-conference-2022/&tab=comments#comment-778993.  Conferences are a lot of fun, especially if you suspect you may be in further than just CDing because you are talking IRL with people on your level.  I have been to many over my years of being fully OUT and am raring to get back to one. They are safe and much more fun than standing in front of a slot machine in a dress while being ignored by all but the wrong people.

Just remembered, there is a Trangender Conference that takes place in Las Vegas in May, and that would be the way to go there in my opinion.

Alex, @VickySGV's suggestions are excellent.  If you do happen to go to Las Vegas and have some $$, check out "Just You."  Someone close to me has used Amy's services many times and her clients have a wonderful time going out together on the town.  She'll dress you, do the makeup, and take you to all the right places.  Her clients are transformed.  Here's the Link.

I had forgotten about that. Too many trips to Lost Wages since coming out.  Actually I knew it under another name, and YES that would be a way to do it there.

Vicky and Carolyn make excellent recommendations and I have to second the notion of attending a conference.  Just coming out, you'll probably feel most comfortable at a conference.

Another real good option is to go out with a CD or trans friend who is already comfortable being out in public; a big sister, so to speak.  Of course, that would assume you know someone.

As for places to go, I go where other women go; places like the shopping mall, department stores, or eating establishments.  Night clubs and bars were never places I enjoyed or felt comfortable, but a bar that is part of a nice restaurant is actually appealing.  Often, I'll end up there waiting for a table.

Going out is so much fun and it is a great way to express your inner woman, so whatever you decide, I have no doubt you'll enjoy yourself.

I'm puzzled by this chapelle backlash. He had a wonderful relationship with daphne. If one watched the special, at the end, chapelle informed us that he is setting up a fund for daphne's child. I don't think that's transphobia, rather, I think that is the best humanity has to offer.   As for trans related jokes, bring em on I say. Having a laugh at myself or feeling a bit of sarcastic pain is good for my soul. It reminds me that I am living in this world....which of course has always been the ultimate goal.

Sounds like a great outfit!  I busted out my knee highs last weekend.   ...and ya, looking good ladies. I just got back from Target, and noticed my body is beginning to give me away.  I think I'm in a place where the gender I'm presenting is largely in the eyes and ears of the beholder.  Not as cut and dry as I once thought it would be.

Welcome @MaybeImSkylar ! I'm glad you found the forum. I've found it to be a wonderful place with people who give loving support, advice & acceptance. I think you will too. You might find a gender therapist helpful, I know mine has helped me. A book called You & Your Gender Identity by Dara Hoffman Fox is another great way to explore your gender. They read it on YouTube also. I hope you enjoy your journey exploring your gender. Oh, your English seems fine to me.   Hugs! Delcina

I'm sorry that is not right that she took it.  Can you get it back or get another one maybe?

I got thing where I bring a bagel with me to work for breakfast. A couple months ago the owner happened to see it on my desk and asked for a piece. Besides being the person who signs my paychecks he’s really a great guy so I happily let him  have some. Since then he would randomly come by in the mornings looking for his piece of bagel so I’ve been making sure to always have one if I really wanted it or not. Now and again I would see him in back working with techs and would slide in drop if a piece and go back to my desk. He always thanks me for the mini-breakfast but today instead of just generically thanking me I got “thank you girlfriend”. I admit it was a little awkward but I feel really affirmed that he sees nothing but the woman I truly am.

Okay, I know the name of this thread is "What are you wearing today," but tomorrow, I am going out to dinner with a few girlfriends, so I'm already thinking about what to wear.  I think I'll be wearing a red, knee length pencil skirt, a black V-neck top and black knee hi boots.  Yippee, it's finally boot wearing weather here in New Jersey.   And ladies, let me just say, you all look so terrific.🙂

That kinda sucks but it doesn’t sound like it’s your problem to figure out. You just need to take care of yourself and get well.

Well. I haven't posted up the real kicker in my world. It is me, my store manager and the commercial manager that are out. The store manager lost his dad Wed night to Covid. and now he has pneumonia. SO he is out the full 14 days. We have one other manager that knows how to open the store. The other assist. We have 2 other managers that can close but one only works Weekends.  Don't know what the upper manager(s) are doing.     When it rains it pours.   Kymmie

🇺🇸Good☕️afternoon🏳️‍⚧️everyone🦋 I seen one of my old Battlion Chiefs at the training center this morning. He said, I look like a lumberjack from the front, and a lesbian from the back. 😂 😆 He has no idea how true the statement is.   In his defense, this is how I was dressed for a light rain day.
