I'm starting my journey on surgery a Vulvoplasty and I'm in the state of Nebraska the only place near is Kansas City medical center in Kansas my problem is I think Medicare only pays for 80 percent of the surgery costs I think so thought the rest could be paid for by my Medicaid but wrong on that kansas won't take Nebraska's Medicaid so now don't know what to do was quoted a price from another transgender that had one done that her cost was almost 70,000 dollars and 20 percent of that is alot of money to come up with for me being I'm on disability and only get enough to live on .... So any ideas on funding this maybe any help out there for me to look into? Need help don't know if I can live without this procedure ...

First, check out our main page for scholarship programs

https://www.transgenderpulse.com/surgery-funding-assistance/

Next would be to contact Your local LGBTQ Center and speak to their Trans Advisory Staff who may know of local scholarships or treatment grants.  They can also help you assess EXACTLY what benefits you do have under Medicare, it may be better than you think it is.  There are also gray areas where "medically necessary" procedures described properly by your medical care team are covered to a higher degree that is well known.

Well found out that My medicare advantage isn't an advantage in the area of getting surgery done in another state they say its out of network so wouldn't cover it so come the 15th of the month here have to redo my insurance back to original medicare to cover going to kansas for the surgery but still have the 20 percent problem with it cause of medicaid won't pay out of state ....

Do you have a maximum out of pocket cost with that?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).
