Full Time RV'er, Full Time Lee Ann?

Wife and I are retiring in a couple of months and going full time in RV.  I want to let Lee Ann have the freedom she deserves after 64 years of not totally expressing herself.  Has anyone had like experience and what should Lee Ann be concerned about.  She is not a flashy person and just wants to blend in and enjoy retirement.  She is fighting Parkinson’s  and wants to enjoy as much as possible. Will this work for her?

I don't see why not. It's how I approach life. I'm just me. I'm not flamboyant and go about my business. Very few people care one way or the other. You'll probably get some static here and there, but it will be far outweighed by the good people you meet and the freedom to be who you are.

Hi dear.  A few years back(2014) my wife and i had a long cross country trip in and RV.  It was a great opportunity to not only see the amazing sites this land holds but a great confidence builder for both of us.  We went late in the season which removed much of the crowding one can find.  Crossing the mountains can be an issue due to snow at high elevations.  

   The ladies rooms at most campgrounds had separate screened stalls for the showers so that was never an issue.

Overall apart from being a bit cramped, and we got used to that it was wonderful   Pick your outfits out carefully as big closets simply don't exist.? 

I wrote a bunch of posts here as we stayed at night campsites.  They were titled "Travels with Charlie" if they are still here somewhere.  We can certainly travel while trans.

Hello @Lee Ann and welcome!  This sounds like lots of fun!  You're never too old to be true to yourself.  I've read Charlize's posts and they are great.  Makes you want to get an RV and go.  Not being flashy is normal in my eyes.  Look around, most women blend in with others.  I rarely get all "dolled up" any longer.  I'm sorry to hear of the Parkinson's but don't let it slow you down.  Please join in the conversation.

Thanks for all of the very sweet reassuring comments.  I had a very good experience today like many I hope to have in the future.  My wife and I went to my doctor’s appointment and then shopping.   I had on a pair of women’s Lee jeans that I purchased especially for today that fix very well.  Put together with nice button down shirt and sandals.  Definitely more feminine look in public then I every had in the past.  My wife said I looked very nice and much better than my usual man jeans.  Wish I would have had makeup, painted nails and toes, and a much more feminine blouse but that I hope will all come later.  No one said a word about the jeans and I felt very comfortable.  Small victory!!!!  Also first thing after retirement, I plan on going the next day to get pierced ears.  Can’t wait.  I hope all of you have a blessed and happy weekend.

I don’t have an RV so I can’t relate to that exact type of experience. I remember camping just after starting to present full time when hair growth was more an issue. Shaving with an electric razor was going to become my biggest concern while camping with my wife. You have a much better situation with an RV which is more private than a tent like we have. My electric razor was so loud so I was going to have to use a disposable razor if we ended up camping next to someone else. In a tent, even a disposable razor can be an issue but likely not an issue in an RV. At a popular KOA this would have been an issue. I was so concerned about even the smallest of things back then. Back then I thought every little thing was going to “out me” and all hell would break loose.?

 

I think you’ll be just fine being yourself as long as you don’t get too hung up like I once was. As long as you’re considerate to others and just be yourself, you can enjoy the time of your life. This can be a very freeing time for you and your spouse. You deserve this. I wish you the best on your upcoming journey.
