Bathroom Assault

The New York Post is not a reliable source of information on issues regarding the Trans community, it is a Fox News type of thing which has dubious connections to anything close to truth.  That particular school district has had a small but vicious anti-Trans group of adults claiming to be parents attacking it because it is proposing to enact a non-discrimination policy against LGBT people.

But I have seen this in some other places.  They claim there have been charges.

If it's true that does not mean that the perpetrator actually is trans.

In a way I suppose it would happen eventually.

Doesn't mean it actually happened either. News sources feed off of each other. One "source" declares a thing, then other news agencies cover it using the original article. Unfortunate side effect of digital journalism: Everybody is in a rush to be first, but nobody much cares about being accurate.

Hugs!

There is no evidence presented in this article that the predator student is trans, or even that he claimed to be trans.  There is one reference to one of the victims saying he "wore a skirt."  The police didn't confirm that as fact.  Conveniently, the outraged parents are using this against the district officials over their trans student policies.  If, in fact, the school district covered something up, then that's actionable, and I wouldn't blame parents for being upset.  But whether they did or not is not clear, nor is much else from this article, other than two crimes occurred by the same alleged person.

Bad news, fake news. The US averages 10 mass shootings per week, while the Post makes headlines with the mention of a skirt? And what if the victim was trans? Is it the same story, then?

This is bad. This will be bought up for years if true.

I feel horrible for the girls assaulted and doubt the boy was actually trans... But it won't matter. Another target on our backs.

Exactly. It's a teen trans rapist in the girls room for now and evermore.

Anti-trans right wingers and TERFS can both get out the champagne tonight.

Not quite what it was made out to be.

But it did manage to achieve the desired outrage.

I had read the same account in a couple of other news sources.  But now that the supposed truth is out, and it doesn't fit the original narrative, the right wing media quickly forgot about it.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
