Interesting conversation with my mother

Had an odd conversation with my mother. I was gabbing about my endless obsession with human development and the conversation veered towards gender. I told her gender is neurological and not necessarily related to genitalia. It got a bit weirder after that, she asked if trans children always felt that way. I said in general yes. Sometimes, as they grow up, some decide they are just gay, but for the most part they know.

The conversation started about how so many men think they are above women. I had told her to remind them that male genitalia is just repurposed female parts. It was rather surreal. I'm probably just being paranoid, but it did seem to subtly be about me? Oh well, I start therapy this week. Should be interesting.

Interesting Jamie. My guess is that our mothers probably know a great deal more than we give them credit for. I remember my mother waiting in the dark looking at the entrance way to the bathroom one night. She sort of suspected I was trying out her Revlon makeup. She caught me. The funny thing is that she did not scald me all that much. She told me to make sure I wiped it off before I went to school, although I wish she had told me how to get it off better. She then asked me if I wanted her to buy me some. I turned red and went to my room. I was 15 then. Later she would catch me with a load of her old panties in my drawer during the summer. She asked me if I wanted her to get me some. Again, I swore I would never do it again.

A few years later I was at nursing school. She visited a few times my first year and she would bring me items to wear. The one time she gave me this top. I did not think any thing of it. I wore the top one day and one of the women in my class came up to me and asked me where I got it. She said she had one just like it. The bells just kept ringing. My mom passed away a few years and I had a long talk with her about why I had never remarried. I mentioned that there were things I wanted to say, but couldn't. Her reply was "I may know more than you realize." That was that. I think she knew a great deal.

Sincerely

Katie

@Katie23, your mom sounds like she was supportive and pretty darn cool. More moms should be like her. I'm sorry for your loss.

Hugs!

I honestly think she was testing me after a while. Back then I had lost a bunch of weight and I told her that my jeans were really loose in the waist and tight in the seat. She gave me a pair of her lady wranglers. They fit pretty good. I wore them to school a few days later. Someone commented on my new jeans and I stopped wearing them. I should have just jumped out the airplane and flew! Wasted, repressed years.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.
