I hadn’t been here for a while and have a new browser app so I don’t know what I account I used to post with. The one that worked with a current email address was this one but it doesn’t seem to be one Ive used in the forums, so anyway, if anyone knows me it will be as the name I used in chat, regn - this is me

 

Sad to see the chat isn’t running anymore. Are you ok Charlize? I’ve gotten my -crap- together quite a lot since I used to frustrate you there. After the second rehab and a lot of therapy, I moved to another state with a new job. I tried to make AA work for a while then finally acknowledged there were too many triggers and found Recovery Dharma, which is a Buddhist inspired recovery program. I’ve combined that with medication (Baclofen) and therapy. It’s helped a lot. I quit smoking then quit vaping.  I’ve lost 37 lbs and counting. Finally reaping the benefits of transition.

 

I drank today, which is why I’m posting this.

@BC glad you're back and making progress. I totally get the struggles and I continue to have them to but I want you to know how proud I am of you working hard to overcome them.

Hey Regn so good to hear from you dear.  I'm glad you are finding a path to health and self.  You didn't frustrate me dear.  Instead you reminded me of my addictive behavior and how easy it would be to go back.  In AA one of the things we do is to work with others.  I see myself in the addiction of others.  It reminds me of the danger of that first drink.  

in answer to your question i'm doing great!  Getting old with sore bones and a big smile.  I'm still working the farm as i can and caring for myself and my wife as well as two dogs and a flock of sheep.  I still am active in AA as i try to return the gift of sobriety that i was willing to accept from others.

Yep, I think you need to have a minimum of five posts before you can use the Private Message system.

You have over 5 posts now Regn and should be able to PM.  Hope to hear from you.

 I"m glad to hear you have a recovery program that  may work for you.  Anything that helps an alcoholic stay sober is truly a blessing.  I'm still active in AA as i've found  as an alcoholic i can stay sober if i keep working at staying sober.  I feel that need to stay active, reach out to others and pursue a spiritual path.
