J.K. Rowling Doxxed by Trans Activists

It's not good for her, as it would not be for anyone else, but what did she expect in being so agressive. Many of the activists home adresses will probably be fairly well known too. The media thrive on such things.

It is a pity that Ms Rowling only feels she is threatened.  Perhaps her fears of a "man" in the ladies room blinds her to the violence the trans community faces.

People should maybe just say their piece, and then shut up.

Yes indeed.  Say you hate once and shut up.  Wearing a "Kick Me" sign, front and back all the time - - - you get the message.

Maybe I am missing something. Since when does this nitwit Rowling have any legitimate education giving her any expertise to flap her gums? It ticks me off. Many times people think we are going through all of what we go through for giggles and grins. These clowns have no idea of what we carry around in our heads and our hearts. They take it for granted that they wake up and they never feel what we feel. They think we must have asked for this or get some perverted pleasure out of all of the things we go through to feel right within ourselves. I am glad I never caught up in her little fantasy series.

Is anyone concerned that this high profile reframing by Rowling that this is a trans-woman vs. woman national scale issue is going to to affect woman therapist's analysis and advice when treating transgender patients?

Will bias creep in? It shouldn't but we are all human and even if the professional response is that any personal biases are blocked out, the fact that the personal bias was blocked out itself has an impact on the analytical process.

I know if you go to Bangor, Maine you can swing by Stephen King's house, and you can find out where it is on the internet.

I've been by Paul McCartney's London house a few times, even before the spread of the interent to the masses.

Supposedly JKR's address was out there as well before this 'doxxing' and this big 'news' is just another part of her weird obsession with publicly fighting against the gender identity of strangers.

Yeah.  She's famous enough that I'm sure the location of her home is no mystery.

This stuff just degenerates into "The Pot Calling the Kettle Black," and there's plenty of _________ to keep it going.

The worst part is that it gets people riled up that really didn't give a flip previously.

But then, I guess that's the point, isn't it?

I think interference of personal bias is always a potential issue for professional therapists, regardless of the issue(s) at hand, and I think that therapists are required to routinely undergo some therapy, themselves, as part of their profession in order to deconstruct personal bias and prevent transference to their clients. I suspect that the large majority of therapists who specialize in LGBTQ+ issues are motivated to do so out of compassion and empathy for LGBTQ+ persons, and not, say, in an attempt to preempt the spread of any so-called queer agenda. So, on the other hand, given any rising threat to the agency of LGBTQ+ people, it may be the case that therapists would be increasingly compassionate. Just a thought.

She is a professional storyteller, afterall.

To your point, @Jandi, in the article she says "perhaps...the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us." What's with the "us"? Maybe she is using the royal "we", but it seems rather that she has decided that her instance of perceived threat extends naturally to all ciswomen. Besides which, her statement is illogical; it begs the question - how is one to "prove a movement" that transwomen are women when a distinction is made pitting transwomen against "us women"?

Anybody ever thought she might have made all of this up just to slam us? I wonder if the woman is mentally ill. Oh well, mind over matter. It's our mind, and she doesn't matter. I have never read any of her books and have no plans to change my mind on that.

My Suzie and I have two different coffee makers, her’s is a Keurig coffee maker, and she grinds her own decaf coffee beans. Mine is a 12 cup Bunn drip style, and I use mostly Folgers Dark Silk or Black Rifle C♠️F.   I fill my 20oz OzarkTrail travel mug after preheating it with boiling water. Then I drink two 10oz heavy ceramic mugs while eating breakfast, catching up on the news, and social media. The travel mug stays hot throughout the morning and is more like a sippy cup for my security until lunch.    @Willow It’s good to hear you’re resting and able to stretch out the amount of pain pills you need. Listen to your body, and don’t over do it as you return to your normal routine. I’m also glad things are coming together with your wife/partner and family.    Hugs for everyone,   Mindy🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋💖

That sounds like a really odd situation. I think you did the right thing. I wouldn't trust that guy either.

I don't know if I could handle avacado on toast. Supposed to be really healthy. I love the dachshund salt and pepper shakers.

I'm about to have my second coffee of the day.  It's cold and windy outside but nice and cozy inside.  I think I'm becoming a hermit.

Another vote for pumps.  They look classy.  Although those boots look fabulous!

Interesting about period symptoms. I get the backache, the emotional ups and downs and the desire to make a baby for about 2-3 days a month, and on a regular cycle (ie: it is always the same 3 days, give or take a day.) Since my knees hurt virtually every day--relics of an errant and misspent youth--I discounted them. The rest makes sense, though...

Thanks so much for the input ladies.  Valerie, the only time I plan on spending outside is the walk from the parking lot to the restaurant, not a long walk, but could be as much as one-hundred yards.  I was leaning towards the pumps to be honest, but these particular boots, with the high-heels, aren't great when I am doing a lot of walking, so I thought this event might be the perfect opportunity to show them off.  I may just wear the boots while driving, bring my pumps along and make the final decision when I get to dinner.

My father actually got very close to saying the "proud" word as i finished building our home.  It had taken over a year during which i had been almost fanatical.  I desperately tried to get by without a mortgage having sold our first farm and getting out of debt.  I guess i had proved that i was a man.    Hugs,   Charlize
