Art therapy

[Charlotte Ye Ye]

My mental health therapist suggested I take up art as a way of calming myself and releasing tension.  I started in April this year, never picked a paint brush up in my life.  I'm not very good, but the help it's been and the pleasure gained from doing it is immeasurable.

They look very good for such a short period of time. I too would recommend artwork as a way of relaxing. Just a pencil and paper and doodling is perhaps the easiest option.

@tracy_j I find I can disappear into my own world painting, forget the world and all it's problems.  I only keep maybe one in three canvasses.

Yes, it's a kind of therapy. Great paintings—love how present they make me feel. I paint with words. Here's a short piece I wrote today.

 

Pixie, Dave, Chekhov, & Shakespeare

Pixie and Dave—they’re both lost out of time and rejected by that same war. They like it that way. They read the plays together to act like adults so they can learn what it’s like to be very young. They allow each play to enter their lives and teach them how to move forward, to escape their previous roles and become new.
