Personal Beliefs

So I want to start by saying this isn't an actual religion or anything like that. I was raised atheist by atheist parents in a predominantly atheist community, so my relationship to religion itself very weak.

With that being said, I've adapted and amassed my own individual beliefs, either by taking inspiration from religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and possibly Wicca, or just thinking about it myself.

The main idea of my beliefs? Growth. Specifically, self growth. 

Humans, the planet, and the universe at large are constantly changing, evolving, learning, and of course, growing. With this in mind, learning and growing as a person is something I constantly strive for, and my goal is to leave the world better than when I entered it, even if I only made it better for one person.

Another big thing I believe is more nebulous; everything has an energy to it, good or bad or neither or both. And I think nature itself has an energy to it that is both and none at the same time. Nature is an odd one, but I like it more because it's easier to accept the good and bad in yourself. 

Religion and other faiths or practices are fascinating to me, and I'm more drawn to ones like Wicca or something more related to nature and the understanding of good and bad and the inevitable entanglement of the two. 

Above all, my own little doctrine is really just me trying to do my best. I don't always make the best decisions, but at least I can always learn to do better.

Good morning, Sol! 

It is always wonderful to see people talking about self-growth when it comes to their spiritual beliefs. As someone who is focused in nature/polytheism that relates to the environment, I really like what you said about leaving the world better than when you entered it. 

I can also relate to having influences from different religions. I used to be obsessed with Greek/Roman/Egyptian gods when I was a small child and while I do not worship those specific gods, they continued to influence me now as an adult.
