Hello all, Annorah Here

Hey there I go by Annorah Grace. I'll try not to ramble as I'm oft prone to 😅 . I am heavily questioning leaning more towards the trans side. I guess that's the best way to put it. I mean I do "feel best" when I'm dressed up in my alter, as I like to call her but less and less when I'm Annorah the more and more I feel she is who I should have been for so long now. Alas.

I didn't find this place as my therapist found it for me after I asked. It seems like a lovely place so far as I've lurked since Monday. As i'm questioning the only people that are aware are a very limited few. I guess what I'm looking for is community and people to feel safe around and ask questions and learn more about being trans and transitioning and all the fun and scary stuff. Well, it's all scary right now if I'm being honest.

I hope to make a small home here.

Cheers,

Annorah G

Welcome Annorah Grace! Glad you're here. I've found it a wonderful place to find answers to my gender questions, the people here have been very supportive & accepting. A book recommended here I've found very helpful is You and Your Gender Identity by Dara Hoffman Fox. They also read it on YouTube.

Hugs!

Welcome, @AnnorahGrace!  When and if you feel ready, please do ask any questions you'd like.  So many of us here started in a similar place, and we offer support that can help reassure you that you're not alone.  There are numerous books, web sites, etc. that we can recommend to learn more, if you're interested.

I completely understand your observation that it feels scary at the moment, because I've been there.  The good news is that, as many of us have found out, many of the milestones we felt apprehension about turned out not to be big deals, and in fact quickly became routine.

With best wishes,

Astrid

Hello Annorah Grace.  As my friends have said, Welcome.  Please ask questions when you are ready.  We've all been (or still are) where you are.  The journey doesn't have to be scary when you have others to  speak with.

Cheers, Jani

Thank you for this resource. I'm listening to it now while I work :)

Thank you so much, I highly appreciate it. I'm aware that many have felt the same things I have and that makes it easier to talk and discuss. I would love those resources. Like you said I do hope that they aren't "big deals" but they sure feel like they are 😅

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! :D

A few online resources:

Two books by Alex Iantaffi and Meg-John Barker (available for purchase or, oftentimes, at your local library);
with helpful descriptions of gender identities and useful exercises

  • How to Understand Your Gender
  • Life Isn't Binary

At some point, I would invite you to browse through the Therapy and Therapists forum threads here.  Many, many of us have found it extremely helpful to work with an experienced gender therapist. It can really provide ways to make progress in both understanding your gender identity and in considering options.
