Questions about hrt and clothes

Hiya, I've had no luck getting this answered via Google so I thought here would be good.

I'm 22 and have been on HRT mtf for a year now. I just recently started my hormone blocker (second dose). My breast growth has been going pretty well so far but I have been worried that I might be hindering it. I wear a bra and fake breasts to feel more confident outside and when going to work. They are quite heavy and can get tight to my chest to stay in the right place. I wanted to know if wearing these will negatively effect my breast growth and development?

I've been living away my gender for over 7+ years now and have worn fake breasts when out in public all that time.

Any advice would be amazing!

Thanks.

I've HEARD that if you bind, it negatively affects breast growth. I'm not aware of any actual scientific studies. I also can't think of any girls who would risk it in the name of science. Personally though, I gave up on breast forms when they became uncomfortable. The bigger ones just were not comfortable on my breast buds. I mean OW!

Hugs!

I'm not sure if it counts as binding. My old friend who is ftm had a binder and it looked way different pressure wise. Mainly just pressure on the underboob as that's where most the weight ends up going for the fake ones.

Since your need for padding will decrease as your breasts grow, perhaps now is the time to switch from forms to something more adjustable.

I would be hesitant to stick with the forms any longer, because the might restrict growth, and also because of the discomfort.

@Lucylux - This also might be a good time to see what different styles of bras work (or don't) for you, without forms.  The styles you favor will also likely change over time as your breasts grow.  There are an amazing variety to choose from.

I’ve been wearing a bra with false breasts for almost a year, but i too have started to feel uncomfortable due to my breast growth. Yay!

So i’ve switched to some bra pads instead. It doesn’t feel as heavy or “natural”, but the lack of pressure is a definite plus.

Now I just need to find an organization to donate my old breasts to. Anyone know one? 😀

Check your local LGBTQ+ center. I gave mine to a friend who donated them to the community where they live. They were much too nice to throw out.

I was going to throw away my two pair of barely used "breasts".  I'm not aware of an LGBTQI center where I live but will take them with me on my ~1350km drive to Brisbane (nearest capital city) soon - should be something there.

I couldn't throw mine away. I sent them to a friend who was (at the time anyway) more active in the trans community and she re-homed them for me.

I still keep a couple of pairs around for cosplay purposes though. Sometimes I need to pad out my bust a little to make an outfit work.

how did you all put the fakes on before they they put too much pressure on the sore nipples? i pretty much wear fakes all day except when im at family functions. i got more than a few sets from A-DD so im likely to have to donate more than a few as i carry on this path. i might have something closer to AA just from male weight gain but there is some noticeable weight naturally closer to the band line. i usually use a skin safe glue to put them on to keep them in place. im sure i probably would need to give that up when it get too painful but for now its the best option to use. its not always glued as there are days i dont use the glue and let the bras hold them in place.

The big ones? Surgical glue and a bra. The little ones, I just stick in my bra when I need to exxagerate for a particular look.

Thank you for the reply. The glue I use is great, 3 days with a bit of edge lifting by then. I do prefer to glue to not worry about shifting them. The glue does need a break here and there but I manage fine in those cases.

Things are moving quickly now that I have my drivers license and social security card in my new name. It was really affirming when I got my first paycheck in my new name.

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?

Worry refers to the thoughts, images, emotions, and actions of a negative nature in a repetitive, uncontrollable manner that results from a proactive cognitive risk analysis made to avoid or solve anticipated potential threats and their potential consequences.

Good morning    Now @Abigail Genevieve and @Mmindy what makes you so certain I didn’t mean it to say bee itch certificate?  lol. Thanks Mindy. I was asleep when you saw this and fixed it, and yes Abigail, as a moderator I could have fixed it myself, or weren’t you pointing out the irony of that?   I use Alexis as my alarm to get up.  And I set the ringer to be two guys telling me to get up.  I was so sound asleep when they started telling me to get up that it scared me and my first thought were I had over slept.  Since I have a difficult time getting to sleep as early as I have to in order to get enough sleep I at least cut back my normal awake time to get ready.  But now I have to do my hair and get going.   enjoyed my coffee and a little time catching up   see you all later, for its hi ho hi ho it’s off to work I go.   Willow

Republicans have long committed grave errors by emphasizing their social agenda and moral issues instead of just focusing on the economy, lowering taxes, keeping the public safe, building a strong national defense, promoting business, touting reasonable immigration policies, etc.   The country would thrive economically under Trump's tax and business policies. That's a fact. Another four years of Biden will run this country into the ground financially (including all of our 401Ks and IRAs). But the GOP continues to play right into the Dems' hands by leading with their moral crusades instead of staying the course and trusting their fiscal policies to win the day...
