Right-wing media giants say LGBTQ bar patrons are responsible for their own murders

The level of hatred is appalling.   They are even attacking Richard Fierro, who risked his life to stop the assault.

Are we just not supposed to talk about the US Army Major taking his family down to the local drag club for a night out?”

In response, one Gab user wrote, “If it’s not -holy buckets- he’s helping to molest children and he’s all for it. Fa***t dad in closet.

I just don't understand this level of hate.

Deflect, deny and point fingers at everyone else for what they do themselves.  Same old story.  I'm not at all surprised they've turned on Fierro as well.  Can't have a hero who goes against their philosophy of hate & discrimination; no that will never do.  Got to demonize him, too.

Nothing new under the sun.  It just gets worse...

I've noticed that most people who attack the idea of LGBTQ+ bars have never been to one.  Those on the outside see it as something like a cross between a loud, thumping club and a sex dungeon. Like, people go there to hook up.  But the folks writing this stuff have no idea, because they've never been inside.  That would be taboo, like a woman going to the men's restroom to see what a urinal looks like.  Shocking!  🙄

The reality, at least at the couple of places I've been...is that it looks like your average small-town bar inside.  There's no gatekeeper checking your "Gay ID card" at the door.  My husband is straight/cis, but doesn't mind going to the LGBTQ+ bar in the city with me.  The folks who go there are average people who just want a place to talk and share a beer.

I noticed that one of the victims of the shooting was not LGBTQ+ herself, but had just been there to be with friends.  Richard Fierro is also straight/cis, and there to be with friends and a community he supports.  Clearly demonstrates that the venue is pretty normal, no matter what others might say.

This one is going to get messier before it is resolved in any direction.  The claim that the shooter was NB is a great way to muddy the waters and support the claims that LGBTQ and Allies are secret criminals who had a falling out with each other.  Deep and sick, deep and sick, but what else is hate?

I noticed the "nonbinary" claim as well.  Hard to say... but there's statements by people who knew the shooter, and apparently that is a recent invention, possibly just after arrest.  Supposedly the shooter made frequent use of anti-gay slurs in daily life, so that casts a bit of doubt on the claim.

We are going to be up against a conundrum here that we, in the community, honor and support the gender declaration and personal identification, and our Trans/NB leaders have indicated that we do so here even though the person may have previously denied the status.  Outside of the Trans / NB community this is going to be fuel from the people who do not understand the thought processes involved there. To them it is another indication of our insanity as a group.  A person who would kill members of a community while being under its umbrella is a mind twister beyond the comprehension of what I fear the jurors and community will be.  We cannot prove a negative so the shooter is what they self proclaim.

It is very possible that if the claim of being NB is factual, that internalized fear and hatred of being NB by their community and church are at the root of the motive here.  Non Trans/NB people will not internalize the impact they had in creating that Transphobia in the shooter which made them homicidal toward others like them.  UGLY all over.

This person appears to be a mess anyway.

I have a hard time accepting the NB part, but like has been said, that's not my call.

The timing does seem a bit opportune though.

But it doesn't change what they did.

Trying to put the blame on the victims like this is beyond sleazy.  But it is in character for Carlson and the others.  They get off on doing things like this.

@VickySGV It might be difficult for some people to understand, but I think it is plausible. For example, most school shooters were part of their school's community. Some folks who shoot up a church are members of the congregation. And then there's family violence... being part of a group doesn't preclude violence within that group.  But that's not going to prevent people from making a politically easy explanation.

I'll go first.  My favorite team is the Yankees.  Loved them since I was a kid.  I was born in NYC so, yeah.  I know everyone loves to hate them, and that's OK.  I just love baseball in general.  It's a game of traditions, strategy, power, grace and skill.   Play Ball!!  ⚾   Carolyn Marie

I guess you do have a good point. It's just hard to try and not have the same meals over and over again.

Hi   I’ll weigh in on being picky about food.  Yes, and I was brought up that way.  We didn’t have to eat everything our parents ate.  They had a number of things they ate that they figured we wouldn’t eat, an acquired taste things or one or the other didn’t like them too.   even as an adult there are many things I won’t eat.  In my defense, there are different things my wife won’t eat.   the weird thing is that after being in E, my tastes have changed.  Sweet, sour, salty or bland, if I eat or drink too much of any one thing and I have to counter act it.   Willow

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday

It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.

-It's not a sprint it's an endurance.  -It won't happen overnight. -Seek a gender therapist. -You might lose a lot of support but hang in there. If they truly loved and cared about you they would stay. -Retail therapy helps and plus it builds your wardrobe and shoes. -Makeup is an artwork. It takes lots of practice to do it right and watch YouTube videos on how to put it on or someone who is knowledgeable. -You are going to have roller coaster emotions so don't rush anything.
