Changes to orientation?

So I've made the decision to start T. I'm asking my psychiatrist about it tomorrow! But I read that it can cause changes to one's sexual orientation? Did any of y'all experience this? I'm currently gray asexual, but I have this gut feeling that once I start becoming more myself, it'll change.

This sort of thing is unique to each of us and is on a spectrum.  HRT's mental effect of relaxing your and opening you up in your feelings that had already been present is the major thing that happened.  You gain a freedom to explore feelings that you hid away or could not process before hand.  For some, those are feelings of romantic attraction, others actual sexual attractions.  If the HRT is not right for you, as you will find in a reasonably short time, you still may have a new freedom to your thoughts that will work for you.

My impression from talking to lots of people on trans forums is that a person's sexual orientation can change when they transition, but that it is uncommon.  Most people keep the same orientation: if they were attracted to men, they will still be attracted to men; if they were attracted to women, they will still be attracted to women.

Testosterone is said to increase sex drive and this seems to be supported by FtM stories I've read/heard, however whether any of these people were asexual before going on HRT I do not know.

My sexuality went from unknown/confused (male) to heterosexual (female) following acceptance, then to asexual (female) after starting HRT.  I'm just about to hit 3 months into HRT and research suggests that my current situation is likely to change.  I'm actually loving my current situation, would be quite happy to remain asexual (female).

So it can change, but it's not a guarantee. Interesting. I have this super analytical mind that needs to have as much info as possible. I feel like if I know all the possibilities, I can prepare for any eventuality, and lessen my chances of reacting poorly. Thanks a lot, y'all.
