Why won't the politicians just leave us alone and focus on real crime in this country? I have already had to cancel my bottom surgery last year because my insurance (BCBSTX) said no.

Honestly, I couldn't agree more with this. I wish that the politicians in the US would leave us alone and focus on real issues that are plaguing this country instead of trying to dogpile us with hateful rhetoric. This type of stuff honestly keeps me up a lot at night. The state I live in has gotten particularly bad as of late. They've passed a couple nasty anti LGBTQ bills or they're at least being considered in the state capital as far as I know.

I've also been trying to get the process started with my own gender affirming surgery (top surgery) and have had to forgo the process three times already because of insurance saying no. So now I've decided to save my money and am gonna put it towards moving to a blue state where I hopefully will have a little easier time getting top surgery and just living life as a trans man in general. Nobody should have to consider this as an option just to live their live lives in relative peace.

I'm sorry you've been having a hard time. That's not fair to you or anybody else going through similar situations.

Oof, yeah. I just realized that you're from Iowa. One of my new friends is a refugee from there. She specifically moved because she saw which way the wind was blowing and got outta Dodge as it were. Best of luck sweetie!

Hugs!

Believe me, I'm looking to get the hell outta Dodge here myself. I'm currently saving up to move and then I'll get the gender affirming surgeries I want to get when I move. I'm hoping to move to a more trans friendly state because it is getting bad here. Your friend was smart. I hate the thought of leaving the state I grew up in but...at the same time....I want to move somewhere where I can feel a little safer. Not saying life will be perfect but...I'm hoping to get a fresh start.

From what I have read and heard, soon there will not be a place to go as long as religious leaders have the ears and attention of the politicians. I have tried to get people to see that the politician's strings are being controlled by religious leaders who are bent on controlling the world thoughts and because we do not accept the full lies of what they push we are a threat to them winning the control of the world. They have asked for our heads on the chopping block or backs to the wall in front of a firing squad. There is only one way to battle this injustice and that is to have a transgender person in a high ranking position in all areas of government. That is the only way our words will be heard and respected and the lies silenced. There is no other way. As long as religion has the government's strings, we are speaking to deaf ears. The red states don't care what laws the feds create to protect us from discrimination, the states create laws to hurt us and to not only demonize us but also criminalize us. Our only chance is to stop the lies from within the governments.

I don't believe that the government will be a solution. In fact, government is merely a tool of enslavement most of the time. Electing some transgender dictator won't be any better than having a dictator of any other type.

The ultimate solution is one that I'm not sure can exist at this point. We need an understanding I'm on people both nationally and globally that the highest good is to stay out of one another's business. At the moment, we seem to have a population composed mostly of busybodies.  Since government tends to be like a pond where the scum floats to the top, it is only natural but they will display the worst traits of our population. Both Democrats and Republicans appear to be obsessed with regulating what we drive, how we live, our energy sources, what's in our refrigerators, and what we do in our bedrooms.

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Things are moving quickly now that I have my drivers license and social security card in my new name. It was really affirming when I got my first paycheck in my new name.

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?
