Tokyo Rainbow Pride

Last weekend I went to Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2023 and had a great, great time. Being with thousands of LGBT folks, including a big group of transgender people, is so affirming! This year's logo is awesome. Whoever thought of combing the rainbow with a Japanese folding fan is brilliant! Here are a few pictures:

I love this so much!! The logo is both beautiful and brilliant. My mother - and my father - loved Japanese culture and visited Japan several times. Although they were divorced they still traveled together in later years and shared a passion for Japanese art and culture. My mom had several fans she displayed around her home. They were so beautiful and delicate. The logo captures both and with PRIDE.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!! I wish we could post larger pictures to see the details. is that you in front of the logo?

That looks like you had a fabulous time in an accepting and loving community.  I want a rainbow fan now.

Thanks for the comments, ladies!  That's me in front of the logo, April.  I don't like that my stomach pops out, but that's my motivation to lose a bit more weight. I love folding fans just like your mom. Charlize, surprisingly, I didn't see any rainbow fans, but I did get some merch at the festival. Now I wish I had gotten more!

That's great Kasumi,

You look wonderful, we're our own worst critics. I love the fans as well, my wife, sisters, and I always have folding fans to keep cool at family functions. Some are delicate and dainty, while most are weather proof, and functional at moving air.

I'm so glad you had fun, and shared these pictures,

@Kasumi63 Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing it here with us. Everyone there is having a blast! I wish the pic thumbnail sizing issue here could get resolved. I’d really enjoy seeing the original size pics of this event.

Thank you for sharing. You look great, btw.

My Best,

Susan R🌷

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P
    • Abigail Genevieve
      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
