Anti-Trans Court "Expert" Couldn't Name A Single Medication For Blocking Puberty.

Even their stated identity is a lie if they call themselves an "expert." Apparently, "They can't handle the truth!" and can't even name

Jack Nicholson as the actor who said it. Also, they've been dis-invited to any round of Jeopardy.

A new investigative piece delves into the anti-trans experts making the rounds across the United States. In it, we learn that one highly paid expert could not even name a common puberty blocking drug.

On the flip side, I am surprised how many trans people know very little about being trans, and they simply tell people they want to be happy.

Not sure what Jack Nicholson or Jeopardy have to do with it... but I'm not surprised that there's ignorance in court.  Anybody who knows anything about court understands that 95% of what attorneys do is research rather than argument.  Same goes for "expert" witnesses.  Cases are won and lost on the basis of who has the most correct and persuasive information, and who has done the work of looking for that information.  I'm no great orator, but when I watch some of the things that get said (and are left unsaid) at trials, I wonder how these people actually make a living.  🙄

The whole basic purpose for this site is to help people find the voices they need to protect and present themselves in the world.

@Davie  My entire working life pre-retirement was spent in the legal  field and the reality of "expert witnesses" is something to be read at Halloween or some other day of ghoulish thoughts.  Having been on three Juries over the years where "Expert Witnesses" were used I could say that most were laughable, and duels between them were rather rousing entertainment.  One attorney who's client we found against admitted that he knew his own Expert Witness was pure bunk, but not putting him on could have been construed as malpractice on his part to another lawyer in a circular field.  He and the other Attorney had already settled the case while we were out deliberating based on a question we (the jury) had asked the judge on the first day of deliberation.  The judge asked us for our decision as a matter of courtesy.

I am sure that Erin's full article mentioned that many of these "experts" are actually professionals whose licenses have lapsed due to failure to take continuing education courses mandated by their states.  A good number of them were at one time pediatricians who were part of the Anti-vaccination crowd for childhood illness issues who also lost their licenses for malpractice insurance reasons as well. A nose wrinkling brew from a witch's cauldron.

I'm not sure it's always easy to explain why you do what you do.

I'm sure euphoria was one factor for me.  I think there are other things, but really they're kind of subjective when it comes down to it.  I can't prove I'm not just suffering with a mental delusion, especially when that is defined by some cis person who doesn't even know me.

I'm not sure there can be a definitive test for whether one can "qualify" as really being transgender.

Ivy, the consensus of official bodies is that we are born with our brains hard wired to be incongruent, and this cannot be changed. We officially have a medical condition, but the basis of the discrimination we suffer is the belief we have a mental disorder and our condition is a choice if real at all. Our only protection into the future is to take away the conservative position, if only with the voting public, so it is important for all trans people to learn from forums like these, and all reputable sources, and represent ourselves with educated argument.

Vicky, I had a career involving being an 'expert' witness and was amazed at the rubbish I saw presented! In one case the prosecuting barrister cross examined me by presenting a conflicting report, and stupidly asked me how I could explain the fact the other 'expert' didn't find the outcomes I presented, and I replied with "I have presented my findings and supporting evidence regarding the damage, but I am not in a position to comment on this experts inability to find the evidence I have presented" . The judge lauded and the barrister knew he had lost the case. I have been approached to make a report favourable to one side, and refused, but I know someone else took the job. So I know 'experts' can be bought or influenced, and I also know many people present themselves as 'experts' who are simply not qualified to do so. This is why I tend to ignore opinions, but the general public seems to grab whatever opinion suits them.

I just wish the "official bodies" would admit HOW we got born with incongruent brains and bodies.  I wish there was accountability for all the chemicals put in the food and water.  If it changes the sex, body structures, hormones, orientation, etc.. of fish and frogs and mice, it is no stretch of logic to figure out what happened to ME.  And I would go so far as to add that there are officials who need to be incarcerated for permitting the tainting of what we eat and drink and where we live.  That, and corporations and governments owe us reparations for what we've endured.  I certainly wasn't "supposed to" be born intersex... 🙄

I don't think we have to take away the conservative position, I think we have to come at it from a totally different angle which really isn't being done right now.  And it isn't being done because of the culpability of the individuals and organizations that are in power.  It's a lot easier to describe somebody like me as some kind of "natural variation"...something we just have to understand and embrace and everything's all good.  It isn't all good.  I was MODIFIED to be like this.  That means I'm an involuntary victim of the system.  When I'm around people who have figured this out, acceptance comes naturally even among the conservative religious folks.

I don't hear any of the "experts" talking about this stuff - its like they fail to connect the dots nearly 100% of the time.

While there was evidence of a significant rise in trans babies due to the use of diethylstilbestrol from 1941 until it was banned in 1971 (though some countries continued its use until 1975), there has been no other chemically related links published to my knowledge. I was a DES baby, so I followed the relationship to me being trans, but until they agree on the causes, no official links will be found. The WHO has declared that gender incongruence is a medical condition within expected the range of human conditions, and WPATH has stated incidence rates much higher than previously believed, and, although I suspect they are right, I haven't found the research behind it.

Put simply, until we have all the answers, we will be subject to conservative opinion, and 'expert' statements. Personally, I have accepted who I am, but I get so frustrated when I see my trans friends suffering because of misinformation.

So true.

And many so-called experts are not trained in the field on which they comment. Jordan Peterson for example is NOT medically trained, let alone a geneticist or an evolutionary biologist. He read politics and psychology and then went on to a PhD in psychology, which many scientists don't even consider to be a proper science.

He has claimed to be a neuroscientist, an evolutionary biologist, a climate scientist. He is none of those things. He constantly stridently comments on things about which he has absolutely no academic qualifications.

I believe this is true for me as well, although I have no way to prove it.  I know that my mother had lost at least 1, maybe 2 babies before me, and that was a common treatment at the time.  I also had a sister die of cancer at a relatively young age, which is also linked to DES.  Her twin sister had a hysterectomy to avoid this for herself.  I had already started my transition before I heard of it, and everyone that might know has passed.  But it does fit the pattern.

Bisphenol-A was used in plastic through the 80s, 90s, and until recently it was in most food storage containers.  Shown in labs to be a xenoestrogen that made male mice disinterested in female mice, and female mice disinterested in male mice.  And there's flouride in nearly all toothpaste and in many cities' water.

And if course there was DDT which caused cancer.  And there's still widespread use of glyphosate as a weed killer, which at least causes cancer and I suspect other issues.  Chemicals in the environment don't just go away, they continue to affect the land for generations.

Half the "experts" are ignorant.  The other half are likely complicit.  I believe acceptance of us will come when people broadly become angry with the system, the politicians, the elites, and the "experts."
