Prayer-Thought-Intention Requests

Vidanjali

Recommended Posts

I decided to post here in the "other faiths" forum to declare this thread non-denominational and inclusive of all faiths, creeds, philosophies, etc. I thought it would be beneficial for our community to have a thread where we could reach out with requests for prayers, thoughts, intentions, or however individuals understand the sending of good vibes. So feel free to post here. Whether or not you get direct responses to your request, know it's been received, read, and honored. And may peace and ease be yours.

Please pray for my precious baby lady, my Siberian husky, who is having emergency surgery this afternoon to remove her spleen and a large mass attached to it. May the surgery be successful and uncomplicated, recovery be swift and easy, and pathology be benign. She is our sunshine girl.

Just heard from surgeon. Surgery successful and she's awake and resting well. Spleen was large about only about 100ml blood loss, probably all from bleeding into the mass & not from any rupturing. Dr didn't see anything else worrying except a liver nodule which she biopsied although she suspects the nodule is just age-related. She's anemic but they're holding off on blood transfusion for now bc they believe she'll recover naturally. About a week to get biopsy report. And Dr said if she continues to do as well as she has so far, she may be able to come home tomorrow. So best news possible so far. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

This is an awesome and needed idea. Thank you @Vidanjali.

I know a young MTF who graduated from college and her parents disowned her and told her not to come home ON THE DAY OF GRADUATION. I reqwuest prayers for her to find comfort, housing and joy.

The surgeon called today to tell us the biopsy of both the spleen and liver nodule showed hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive, incurable cancer of the blood vessels. Tomorrow our girl has her post-op appt with the surgeon and we'll meet with the oncologist too to learn more about what best to do. So far, I'm kind of in shock, have lost my appetite, and just trying to stay present and enjoy being with the girl. She's feeling good, energetic and bright. Pets don't define themselves by what's "wrong" with them like humans do.

Update on my girl. She had a work up last Monday before beginning her "targeted therapy" chemo drug, rapamycin. At that time they found two new tumors on her liver which had developed over three weeks since the surgery. Last Sunday morning, on seeing her gums pale, I took her to the vet right away. They determined those two tumors had almost doubled in size in just a week and she also had had some internal bleeding (hence the pale gums). There are also some nodules on her lungs now. Brought her back to the vet yesterday to recheck. Bottom line is her body is fighting HARD. But it's totally unpredictable what effect the chemo drug will have (she's only had four doses so far) and whether she'll rally from this recent bleed. She's been sleeping most of the day. So just monitoring, keeping up on her supplements and drug, high-iron foods, loving her up, and being prepared to make good decisions.

At the vet yesterday, baby girl's blood work was good indicating she'd recovered from a recent internal bleed. However the ultrasound showed that one of the large, fast-growing liver tumors could rupture any time now & that would be the end of her. So we've decided to be proactive to avoid trauma for all and have a vet come to our home tomorrow morning to administer euthanasia. Last night I spent reading to her & today we have a nice day planned. We feel confident and comfortable with this decision.

It's a terrible decision to have to make.  I've been where you are.  But it sounds like you made the right decision.  ❤️

I am so very sorry. We went through a similar series of choices and decisions with our 8 year old Lab a few months ago and realized we just couldn't get ahead of the cancer. Sending her across the bridge was our best, most loving choice.

I know how difficult it is, but you're doing the right thing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Run free, sweet girl!!

Thank you both so much. She passed away this morning with a blissful look on her face. Really it was a joyful experience which I prayed it would be. Such a blessing.

I can barely write this. A very distant relative of mine - whose company I enjoy and who I see at family get-togethers a few times a year - is facing end of life. He has leukemia. It is hitting hard now. Tomorrow, Don will start an aggressive course of chemotherapy for 28 days that will either kill him, or if he survives, will give him some more time alive.

His close family is reeling from this news. As am I.

I gratefully request your thoughtful intentions and/or prayers for Don and his family.

Thank you, @Vidanjalifor starting this thread.

Gratefully

@Timi Healing blessings for your family and your loved one.

I say healing and not curing., The two are different and healing may be for peaceful acceptance and adventure in exploring your life with him and he with you as he moves on to new adventures that you some day will join him in.

@Timi blessings on Don, his healthcare providers & all those who love him. May all be full of grace, inspiration, and peace.

Thank you all! An update. The doctors were able to identify the source of internal bleeding that Don had been experiencing, and stop it. This allowed them to change the course of treatment to something less drastic. Back to regular chemo.

Best Tongue Twister? Try this one: "Theophilus Thistle, the successful thistle sifter, in sifting a sieve full of un-sifted thistles, thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb. Now If Theophilus Thistle, the successful thistle sifter, in sifting a thimble of unsifted thistles, thrusts three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb, how many thistles could thou thrust through the thick of thy thumb, in sifting a sieve full of un-sifted thistles? Success to the successful thistle sifter!

Thanks for that     Of course, it's fine to ask questions, however...     it may appear we do because...     a debate implies there are opposite sides, each trying to convince the other that they're right. And perhaps I am not understanding your communication style, but it seems you are indeed debating over defending that your personal experience and beliefs - that those across the transgender spectrum are noisemakers who have created a "cottage industry" because we want labels to feel special and in so-doing are threatening the lives of binary transexuals - are right and others are wrong. Your experience is valid. There's no question about that. And your beliefs are too; they are your own. But no one's personal experience and beliefs define THE truth. So, instead of debating who's right and who's wrong, we can share and learn to empathize with each other. We can listen to and validate experiences and perspectives. One does not need others to agree with them for their experience and beliefs to be valid. So, when the debate sounds like this: "You're not really valid, don't you think? Don't you agree that you should quit saying you are who you think you are and insisting on visibility and dignity because it's a threat to my well-being? Reply." then it's neither productive nor healthy.      Thanks very much for this. This is very clear and I understand where you're coming from and feel for you even though it's not my personal experience. I understand why it's a sad and uncertain time for you. I think it's beautiful that you have gained a clearer perspective on your own identity, and thereby helped others to understand yours. We who do identify as transgender desire the same. It's clear you feel hurt by the transgender population. Likewise, transgender people's desire for visibility, dignity, and rights were never meant to undermine your safety and existence. My hope for all of us is existence with fulfillment, love, and peace. And that may not be reflected in our external circumstances because no one on earth has ever led a life free of challenges. So, that calmness and steadiness comes from within. And that's a lifelong pursuit. Can we turn away from blame and use that energy to pursue goodwill? Goodwill for all. That's the ultimate challenge - to see the humanity in all and to simply deal with the practical reality in front of us.

It sounds like getting back in is the issue.  It will still be handy to have it if you aren't planning on coming back.  Hopefully it doesn't get that bad, but it is good to be prepared.

I love the lighter nights and warmer weather, its a great time to start outdoor hiking and our usual yearly walks, I am going to have to watch my weight, i am 59kg my average tends to be around 62 kg if i can stay around 59 kg i am not too much bothered. but spring is a time of planting up flowers on my balcony and attending my hanging baskets, Mia loves the cat mint and loves to watch the butterflies.

I love doing exercise, more so in the summer, i can be quiet strict with my diet, i do eat red meat and potatoes, its about finding out what works for you and being realistic. When i first started on hormones i had my weight checked by the endocrinologist at hospital every three months. I tend to worry a lot too so that might be one reason why i do not gain weight easily. when i go on very long walks say around 30 miles friends will say have your brought anything to eat? i never did only bottles of water to keep me going.

Thank you MaeBe for always being there. I really do appreciate you. I hope things are going better for you and family.   Thank you HeatherK I will tell him you said happy birthday.   montyone well I can talk with you. I'll try to make it a habit to check the forums more often. I just have a lot going on. As you can tell by my post count, I was very active. I have kids two boys and doing house renovations on top of it. Getting a new floor put in because I have only had concrete for a while because the HVAC flooded the floors and of course the laminate wasn't waterproof. What I selected now is plus I love the look better on this. I'll post a picture.

Exactly.  This was the rationale used to prohibit LGBTQ+ people from the military in the first place, back in the last century.  They said it wasn't being gay itself that made you ineligible, it was the fact that you had to hide it, thus making you vulnerable to foreign blackmail.  And of course, the reason they had to hide it was because they'd boot you out if they found out.  Total circular reasoning.
