It's worth looking on some of the manufacturer's sites. I use a mid range Janome which works for most of what I need. The decision I had was between buying a standard machine or an overlocker. For versatility I decided on the standard but, as I do quite a bit with stretch material, I could still happily use both LOL. There is quite a bit of information on their site, but they are obviously selling. I find the machine good but found add-ons expensive. There are a lot of cheaper pattern feet etc available at a lower price.   https://www.janome.com/chooser/   Tracy

I think VickSGV has great advice talk to the counselors and teachers as they may help out or at least make them aware as a basic safe guard if nothing else. If your have an LGBT club at your school that would  be a good place to at least meet other LGBT students who will  support you.   i think maybe you may want to rethink social media because once its out there everyone will know and if your not ready can make it really hard to deal with being MtF or FtM and your safety is number one priority. Besides if you want to go that route and your school has email maybe that would be a better option just letting your classmates know or the school without letting the world know until your ready.   I am just beginning the journey of MtF and have limited advice but am sticking to this site as a way to prepare and get really good advice. I hope that helps you out .

Enjoy!  I just finished that part and I'm sooo happy I did it.  Not shaving is wonderful!  Worth the small amount of pain, so just endure it.   It's not that bad and the payoff is really worth it.   I'm only sad I didn't do that sooner.   Totally worth the money.   I found laser to clear most of it and Electrolysis for the rest worked great.

I grew up in that crap.  Admitting even that you're gay down there is a death sentence.  Trans is way worse.  That area is hard core bible belt material.   Dallas may look like the big city life compared to the rural towns north and south of it, but it's still got a large share of people who believe the same way.  There's a reason I hid from everyone and just purposefully dressed up as the classic businessman for the entire time I lived there.    I moved to get away from that type of hate.  I live in Michigan now and it's not a lot better, but it's not a death sentence.  I feel for anyone still living there.  It's taking a chance on your life to come out there.  Sometimes, I wish they'd ban religion altogether, though I doubt it would do any good and that would be unconstitutional anyway.  Honestly though, that is not a good area to be stating that openly living there.  It's like walking around with a sign in south side Chicago with a sign that says "I hate <insert racial slur>" or something equally stupid.  It's sad, but I can't say I'm surprised.  I'm more surprised it actually hit the news.  There's quite a bit of that happening down there.   The viral video is the only thing that got attention I'm sure.  Otherwise, no one cares.  It's really that bad.

I've been trying to find one that does surging, has the foot control, and can sew through tougher material.  Amazon doesn't have a whole lot in the descriptions about that type of thing so I've had a hard time finding what I want.

It’s good to hear things have gotten  some better for you. Good luck.

Go to a fabric store such as JoAnn Fabrics where the give sewing lessons and let you try some of the machines.  I still have my mothers old old old Singer, but Brother and a couple more are pretty good.  I would do the lessons first though,  They do have students who are all genders so there is no problem with who is in it.  Also, you might want to check with your local adult school and see what they have as well.  Lot of fun.
    • JustineM
@Ellora Singer makes a very good, almost intuitive sewing machine. I’ve always used them and had very few issues. Very simple layouts and very easy to use.
    • Ellora
Ive always wanted to try sewing, but never started. Any suggestions on what machine to start with and  any other tips?
    • Josie Beth
A good sewing machine with a rheostat foot control is very easy to master once you are able to use patterns. Most sewing shops sell patterns that come in paper envelopes and fold out into giant templates. To save them from wear you can use thin paper from the craft store to trace them out and make a copy. Once you get good at it you can always use ideas from the patterns to alter clothes. Maybe even do some of the conversions mentioned above with more generic clothing. I imagine that T-shirt dresses are pretty easy, and body con T-shirt dresses can double as a top. I might try that sometime when I find a T-shirt I like that’s only available in 2xl or something.
    • Ellora
I really hope that everything is true! This would be great!   Sweet! I might try some!

@Ellora @SaraAW the hyaluronic acid works by preventing water from evaporating from the skin so it’s hydrating quality is second to none. It’s supposed to remove wrinkles and other blemishes. I have not had any adverse reaction to it. Upon further research I also found out that it can also repair gums which is great news for my teeth. It doesn’t squirt out a lot so I’m sure I can afford to put a small amount on my gums and repair the damage from smoking for so many years before I quit.    Today i I got a job offer in Michigan to start working on IT contracts as soon as I can get out there. I’m a bit apprehensive because of my recent past but it seems very legitimate and I do have some solid proof that it’s real. Crossing my fingers that I can get everything in order soon and begin a new chapter of my life. Just the fact that I can work a more flexible schedule and be able to schedule with doctors and afford trans related surgery is almost making me cry. But I promise not to until I find out for sure.

    • Ellora
@Josie Beth Thank you! It makes me feel really womanly when I fit and feel the changes. I totally love the feel of my shorts now, so much i almost feel guilty lol 😂 😉. I giggled earlier, when i noticed them even more. The small changes are becoming more noticeable, which I love of course. Yesterday I got a compliment on my legs from a Mom that was dropping off her kid at T-K, (I was dropping of the twins).    =Cheers=   Oooo sweet! Keep me posted!
