Product Review - "smooth Legs"

I found this product at a mall kiosk and was convinced to try a box. It looks and acts like very fine sandpaper that attaches via an adhesive

substance to a plastic pad. It comes in two sizes for large and small areas. It's not supposed to be used to remove beards, but small

hairs under the lip can be removed by this product.

I tried it on my leg, which had never been shaved. It does not work well removing long hairs. It requires too much scrubbing, which makes the skin

red and can cause abrasions. It certainly does not remove hair as easily as the promotional video shows. It leaves skin very dry so applying a good lotion

afterwards is essential.

I ended up shaving my legs with a four bladed Shick Quattro razor, which worked just fine. I only ended up with one small nick on my foot.

The Smooth Legs would, I think, be good for touch ups once your legs are already pretty free of hair.

Warning: I have read product reviews on other sites that warn of severe abrasions if the product is used wrong or you have very sensitive skin.

So, if you do buy it, be careful and test it on a small area first to be sure you can tolerate it well.

Smooth Legs can be found in malls, and there are many places to buy it on the Internet, including Amazon.com. It costs around $25 for a box of

6-8 pads and the applicators.

Tried a box, myself. They... unfortunately suck. :/ Too much effort for the mediocre results. I read a review I think on Amazon, where someone tried a slightly different grit sandpaper that yielded much better results for a much lower price. I'll stick with my epilator, though. ^_^

Thanks Carolyn,

All I can say to everyone is that one has to be patient with shaving (or what ever method you prefer for hair removal). I prefer the old fashion method of simply shaving my legs... etc. At first, you are blotchy, rashy and stubbly after shaving, but give it time. Your hands, mind, and skin are not used to shaving those areas at first. At first, the results are less than ideal. Take heart though, if you are consistent with shaving (for example) what happens is that you become very skilled at shaving your body and your skin gets used to it too. Before you know it, your legs are always smooth. Long gone are the rashes, the burns, the hair. This does not happen overnight, but with practice you will achieve your goals. One day, you will find yourself gliding over your legs with a shaver and they will be smooth, silky and most of all not blotchy. Like transitioning in general, hair removal takes patience and practice. After shaving my body for years, my skin is always smooth :)

Hope this helps

Love

Brenda

Dear Carolyn,

Yep, tried that product a few months back and was disappointed to say the least ( enough heat there to start a camp fire hun ).

Oh the stuff we girls put ourselves through for a pair of smooth pins !!! :D So for me its got to be a razor too or cream + gas mask.

Why the boffins cant come up with a hair removal cream that smell ok is beyond me ! huggs, Viv.

I bought that once. I was too nervous to scrub particularly hard, and so didn't really get abrased particularly, but I think I decided that they may work better if you've shaved recently. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy, disorganized, and just bad at shaving to do so consistently. Even my face. @__@.... I need to take more care.... but agh, too much homework, not enough sleep, always in a hurry, and I'm not practiced enough at it to do it as quickly as I need to. I'm lucky if I can shave my face alone in under 8 minutes. >.<

But I'm slow at everything when it comes to hygiene. Although I did manage to take a shower in five minutes on one or two occasions, it requires that I stay rather focused, which is quite difficult for me, especially when doing mindless tasks like showering or shaving.

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).
