I want the only place there is hair to be my head. I am 14 so I can't drive to get my own razors though. Any advice? I also have a question, why do people shave their pubic hair? Any advice for that? Any information would be great.

HI Carly

whats about amazon or online shops (hm 14 years old, that could be hard to buy something online), is this so difficult to buy razors where u live. i can go outside and there are more than 10 shops where i can by them. you are mtf so why not asking your dad to buy some - lets say for your fuzz (hope thats the right word) that young boys (sorry for that) have, is that an option?

why do people shave their pubic hair, good question. i was 15 when i started shaving me there because i don't like it, in my view it looks so - how to say that *bäh*. as i know many of my friend are shaving or trimming their hair. some for a smooth feeling like me, other for hygienic reasons or that their genitalia looks bigger. you see there are many different reasons for people to shave their pubic hair.

i hope this helps a bit

:o Hey girls - advice from an older gal here. Shaving your private areas seems a good idea at first (probably because it makes most of us feel sexy and feminine for some reason - bikini line and other real or imagined effects).

But the stubble is both unfeminine and terribly itchy a day or two later. I suggest doing what most natal females do when things get too... well... bushy 'down there'. Trim the hair a bit, just thin it down with a razor comb or scissors (I don't need to mention to be careful - yikes). Leave hair down there - girls have hair down there, they just keep it neater.

Ah, a neatly trimed... area... will help your panties fit and really looks good.

Just an idea.

As to razor accessibility for you very young, ask your dad. Also you may want to rummage around in drawer for any extra disposable razors. Don't use someone elses as it is unhygenic - and the darn thing is probably as dull as a brick if it has been used. :(

Hi Carly, I would suggest waiting until you just can't stand the hair any more. After the first time you shave your hair will start growing back thicker and faster.

As far as buying the razors if there is a convenience store near your school you can buy shave cream and razors there. Just know that ones you start it will be uncomfortable to be in Gym class or anywhere else that requires wearing shorts. If you are ok with smooth skin and the kids noticing it than go for it. As far as pubic hair goes as was already noted there are several reasons including just wanting to.

I cant' say more than what has already been said. Ask your dad, or walk to the store. Maybe you can get some from a few friends. I tried shaving my legs, but then I decided to stop. It felt like it was just a waste of time and razor blades. So I hope you know what you're getting yourself into.

sorry for the stupid question carly, but why is that a problem to go for walk to the store, why is that so far out of your way?

america. i don't live there, but from what i've picked up it seems they have to drive.

@silverpetals

eh, sometimes i visit my relatives in america, and i know they like to drive all the time, 500m by foot - no way, but what is wrong to walk?

if i like i go for walk to my parents or friends and this is about 5km or 3,1 miles and carly is so young she can go if she want, but i don't think that this is the problem.

hm??

What exactly do you mean by "trim" it? Do you mean basically wait until it feels too long and cut it rather short with scissors? If this is TMI, just ignore it.

Thanks,

Emily

Yeah trim it with scissors. An electric trimmer is really the way to go, but I don't have one. They cost around 50 dollars I think.

April

would this mean basically as close as you can or just a little every now and then?

Sorry im asking so many questions, im just not exactly sure what you mean.

Thanks,

Emily

There's no set in stone way to do it. So just try it someway, and if you like it, keep it up. If you don't, try something different or just don't do it.

In case you are wondering, yes, there are people making a form of art with the shaving and trimming or pubic areas.

From an artistic point of view, some were actually very nice. Others were just plain funny. Anyway, you get the idea.

As April already said, you can cut/trim/shave it the way you want it.

 Trim it? Well, its hard to find, but Ebay shops usually have them, a razor comb. They cost $1 (plus a huge amount of postage so get a bunch at the same time). They are basically a plastic double sided comb with an old fashioned razor blade inside. I suspect they were originally made for people who were too cheap to go to the hair care places for a trim between haircuts (guys mainly). They are great for -uh - private trims. They also work great for reducing hair on arms and legs if you aren't completely shaving those areas (hiding the shaving) but want to clean up a bit.

Be careful as they will take off a bit more than you may want (do not try to thin eyebrows for example).

Hope this helps :P

as Elizabeth wrote be careful.

Don't remove your pubic hair completely when you start shaving it, your skin needs some time to get used to it. It can be very itchy. For the first time you can use a pair of scissors to shorten it, and after a while try to shave it, but if you have a sensitive skin and there are little red pimples please stop for a while.

1. never shave without shaving foam in this region you should use creams for females for your skin typ

2. shorten your hair with the scissors and your pubic hair should be as short as possible

3 to avoid pimples take a shower first or just wash this region with warm water and soap

4. you can try it with wet or dry hair, i prefer moist hair

5. use a lot of shaving cream

6. try to straighten the skin with one hand, and gently shave it with the other hand

7. move the razor with the direction of your hair, never against it

8. after you are ready, wash that region again with warm water, no soap!!

9. for the aftercare use a lotion with aloe vera or baby oil

10. don't buy the cheapest razors, the best thing is to buy razors for women if you can

hm, i hope i have forgotten nothing and this helps

you can give your pubic hair any form you want to, a little triangle, a heart (hihi) or a little vertical line

good luck

I'm American but have lived in Europe before. For us, 1.5 miles isn't often considered "walking distance". It's not just about being lazy either. For example, in my neighborhood, it isn't safe to walk up to the grocery store. There's no sidewalk and the road leading up to it is narrow and curvy. I also find that Americans are often not looking out for pedestrians and cyclists because they don't expect so see any. When I lived in Berlin, drivers always seemed to be courteous of cyclists and pedestrians.

Yeah...so depending on where you live, sometimes driving is more of a safety thing than a lazy thing.

Hello again Emily,

The electrics are NOT the big jobs that you use on you hean...I have two different ones and theyre re-chargable with all sorts of different heads that twist on and off. This is the way to go...ingrown hairs are such a bummer...when you shave it off and the hair grows in instead of out...and they can get infected too.Double the yeow thanks. The heads that came with mine all allow to cut from really close to about 3/4" and it's good enough...for me...plus you only have to trim once a month or so...using a razor is a daily proposition with lots of drawbacks...nicks especially are difficult to stop and put 'blood spots' in ahem...hard to explain places. Keep smiling girl...it'll catch on, Kelly Ann

Hi all

forget this question, as I wrote it is a stupid one!

I'm not meaning that someone is lazy and you are right driving can be safer than walking. I visited so much place and towns is America, up the east coast (I was 24, 7 weeks only for me, yeah), up and down the west coast and a little bit between (2 years ago with my brother) and all I can say it is possible to walk there (just visited the bigger cities and/or points of interest), for example in picayune where some of my relatives are living there are no sidewalks, that's right. In my opinion Americans are the better drivers, hm why - i never heard a horn if I made a mistake. I think the drivers are more calmer and in picayune when I went to the mall (yes - on my own feet hihi) every second driver asked me if he/she could help me. I walked the Las Vegas Boulevard (7,4 miles 2 times ;) ) and this is a thing i will never do again *ouch my feet*.

But we should stop now, it's not our topic it's Carly's and for this reason i wrote nothing about this the last days.

Good morning, everyone! I've finally pretty much finished with this head cold. I actually got 5.5 hours of straight sleep last night without taking any cold medication...or waking up to pee. I feel amazingly rested!!   Oh, @Willow, you are in my thoughts and prayers that your throat issue becomes less of a problem over time and not more.   I'm, hopefully, going to get our grass cut today. It takes me somewhere between 2.5 and 3 hours on the zero turn mower but the ground is still so wet that I'll have to slow down a bit. At least it's supposed to be sunny and around 60.   Have a wonderful day!!

We have had some real dillies come out as the initiative sort of thing, but as @Carolyn Marie said, very few make it out of the petition signing seasons.  I am not surprised at the origin site of this thing, it is probably one of only 3 regressive leaning counties we have in the state. We actually had one of these initiatives started to make it mandatory for police to shoot dead on site any Gay behaving individuals wherever they found them.  For the most part the matters are poorly written in ways to be unenforceable even if enacted.  Thus most never become law or get to the voters.
    • Carolyn Marie
You make some good points, AYS.  But there are usually already too many ballot propositions each election, so the proponents know it's best to wrap it all up into a nice package.  Plus, it's easier for the signature gatherers.  Otherwise they have to have a separate clipboard for each proposition.  Too much paperwork, dontcha know?   This kind of proposition is a loser in CA, so the only possible way the proponents can succeed is to give it the scariest title imaginable and try to put one over on the voters before they get wise.  Bottom line; an ice cube on a hot summer sidewalk has a better chance of success.   Carolyn Marie

Reading that article, it seems like the attorney general gets to call it whatever unless its an outright lie.  Given the nature of politics in CA, it seems like one side has the bully pulpit for sure.  Labeling it "Restricts Rights" vs "Protects Kids" is very much a matter of perspective.  Unfortunately, that matters since many voters don't bother to read.  Perhaps a better (unbiased) way to handle it would be to simply give the ballot measure a number with no title, forcing folks to read it.    I think it would have been better to handle the various issues covered by the ballot measure separately, rather than all at once.  For example, issues relating to disclosure of medical and social information to parents.  That could be its own ballot measure, rather than lumped in with everything else.  Besides, shorter and more succinct measures are more likely to be read completely.

This reminded me of an individual who, due to child sexual abuse, lived as a woman for 15 years, detransitioned and noisily insists that all trans people have his story.  His name comes up fairly often because it fits the narrative.   I don't know that anyone actually has been railroaded.  People may say it, they may look back at what happened and decide that happened.  It's a he said / she said, but it feeds a narrative that is useful for those who are already convinced that trans people are abuse victims first and foremost.  That the detransition rate is so low tells me that railroading is not actually a problem, and I regret giving the impression that I thought it was.  That so few detransition is a success story.   What is pertitent at heart is that people hear and believe all the stories out there, and the story we have to tell is not heard, because TG folk are, after all, untrustworthy in their view and unworthy of an audience.  Somehow it needs to get out there as to what the real situation is.

I'm not saying that Christianity is wrong but at the same time there were more than 30,000 changes to it. The Bible doesn't state anything against transgender. The only point that can be proven by them is that people are giving into their desire. 1 John 2:15-17 ESV "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." I would love to challenge them by asking who watches a movie, reads books, and listens to music that isn't Christian based because then they would be guilty as well. 1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Probably not a single hand would still stand that they don't participate in everything they do gives glory to God. "

@Abigail GenevieveSomewhere in the Forums here, we have a link to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health's Standards Of Care, now at revision 8 but it is available in plenty of places.   https://www.wpath.org/soc8.    These are the canons for the allied medical fields that deal with Trans people and are the guidance for those professionals.  I personally know members of the Association and have toyed with the idea of becoming an associate member since I am not a medical professional but because I like to keep on top of what is going on medically.  There are a number of Trans people who think they are overly oppressive as far as the gatekeeping goes, but the medical / psychological profession members who follow these guidelines for there patients WILL NOT be forcing their patients into unneeded or harmful surgery or medications.  I read my first pitiful and heart-rending  "detransitioning" story 60 years ago when I snuck a tabloid newspaper behind a comic book down at the neighborhood convenience store when I was 16 years old and reading it off the rack which should have been adult only.  I am afraid that it was the first thing I ever read that told me about Trans and Transsexual people, it would be another 30 years before I actually figured out my own story.  The story I later found out, was NOT written by a Trans person, but a well known Porn scribbler who wrote many fantastic and gory stories about what he thought Trans people were.  We are not anything like his imagination, but he was a "press agent" for Trans people of the time.  We do have some well known and noisy, negative view Detransitioners who have been found to have gone to multiple psychologists and lied their way Transitioning, one of the most infamous actually hid Dissociative Identity Disorder, right therapist wrong Identity that was being counseled.  It is a messy story.  The public, like my first encounter, was NOT getting their information from the scientific journals of the time, they were getting it from Adult Entertainment and Tabloids   We need to be careful of where we get some of our ideas from. Evidence is good that the person at the heart of this thread gets most of his information from us from the slanted and non-scientific sources most people get theirs.   OOPs, I( may have sent this off track here, but but but.
