I wanted to share with my community the fun I had today. Let me preface this by saying that once upon a time I used to live inside the Bally's racquetball courts. I played the game for years and never enjoyed a sport as much as Racquetball. My best friend and roommate back in the 80's played with me quite a bit. We lived together for many years and she eventually transitioned to female during this time. I was always a little envious she could now dress female and play racquetball with me there. I simply wasn't brave enough to present female during the day in a cis majority area and go workout with her. She always said "Oh! You'll love it" or "You don't know what you're missing" which only made it worse. Fast forward 30 years or so and finally yesterday, my wife and I decided to get a membership at our local YMCA. It's an almost brand new giant facility and has everything you can think of in regards to having fun excersizing, doing sports, and/or training. During the tour yesterday, I saw the racquetball courts and was immediately sold. This morning my wife and I put on our best workout outfits and grabbed our neighbor girlfriend and spent the morning there. Guess where I was most of the time. Yep, you guessed it...the racquetball courts. I hadn't played since 2006 so I had no equipment but they YMCA conveniently provided great quality equipment for free....racquet, protective eyewear, balls. Who knew they did this? The only thing I needed was a glove but I did fine without it for just today. I do have some sore fingers but I just went to Dick's and bought a new glove so that's done. It took me a half hour to get back in the rythem of play but I'll tell you I had an absolute blast! I can't wait to get back there on Friday. It was so nice to do something I had once thoroughly enjoyed but now doing it as myself...as Susan. It was a wonderful feeling just like my girlfriend said it would be over 30 years ago. Sorry I wrote so much but I've been in a really good mood all day and just couldn't stop writing. Take Care, Susan R🌷
