I know much time has passed since the typhoon, & it's largely forgotton about in the world comm, but I am still haunted by all the needles suffering & death that could have been eased by the gov accepting humanitarian aid. There were so many who were willing & able to respond!

Kia Ora Isabella,

It is sad what been happening in Myanmar[burma]-and also what's been happening to the opposition leader 'Aung San Suu Kyi' she been imprisoned for over twenty years [under house arrest], but I'm not too sure why you have put this in the Buddhist section...The actions of the ruling military government has nothing to do with Buddhism, even though many Burmese are Buddhists, what the military government is doing has no connection to Buddhist philosophy, in fact the government has cracked down on Buddhists who oppose their rule...

Myanmar might be seen as a Buddhist country[just like the US is seen as a 'Christian' country] but what goes on inside Myanmar [the laws imposed by the secular military government] has nothing to do with Buddhism, it's all to do with politics and power, the government's need to keep hold of power at all costs...Sadly the local population continue to suffer because of this...

I agree! I've kept up with what news is made available including the tragic items you were so thoughful mention. I posted this topic in this forum specificly because the majority of the people going though this needless suffering are Bhuddist. Thank you your well worded & thought out response! Warmest regards, Isabella

Kia Ora Isabella,

Thanks for that, I was just curious as to why you put it in the spiritual/Buddhist section and now I know...

Wed. night on PBS, I think they said Frontline is doing an inside view of a painfully slow collection of video & other forms of info on what has been going on along with the more imediate aftermath of storm in Myanmar. Info is very hard to get out of this country & this may be a rare chance to try & put some pieces of what happened together.

We have to expand on our abilities in diplomicy. Myanmar is of little to no threat to the US. We have to find ways to get humaniterian aid into these countries after natural disasters through diplomatic chanells in more creative ways. This has been a human failure in action no matter what our Pov is.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
