Also, ten or eleven jazz groups at a few places around the city. One of them was a Coltrane set at the Zinc Bar. It was divine! It took four bands to cover all the phases of his career, and he died in his early forties! Still not much of a fan of his late free-jazz stuff, though.

Sadly, I've only gone to two concerts in my life. Of course, both were Japanese bands who toured in the USA and we were lucky enough to have visit the east coast.

X Japan (October 10, 2010)

Both were the best experiences of my life. I'll remember the X Japan concert for the rest of my life. To have such a legendary band over in Japan come here, and to be able to see them... It's a memory I'll cherish for the rest of my life.

Have seen hundreds of shows, although most were smaller local punk shows... started going to local punk shows back in 1991 shortly before turning 12

Fishbone (my absolute favorite live band ever seen them three times and they never disappoint ... a lot of people rate them as one of the best live bands of all time)

Most concerts I've ever been to for ONE band? Between 1975 and 1979, 25 times. Saw them do this very song in this very year. This is exactly as I remember them. They ran hot and cold. When they were "ON," they were the greatest live band of all time bar none no question. They created MAGIC! You HAD to experience it! The Grateful Dead do not have fans. They have converts. To real fans of "The Dead," they are not a band. They're a faith. I had SUCH crush on Donna Godchaux:

I am looking forward to hearing Delfeayo Marsalis - I know his two brothers and each of them told me that Delfaeyo was the best musician of the three - I cannot wait!

That sounds awesome I soooooooo wishy wish I could see The Grateful Dead live, I always thought it would be an experience more than anything else. They made some many incredible songs, when I listen to them it takes me away to another place in space and time. The only other musician that does that to me is Lou Reed.

Saw Ronnie Montrose and his band last night @ the Backstage in Tacoma. He can still shred with the best of them @ 63 now. Hard Rock lives on !!

For the person above who asked about the Smashing Pumpkins, they're pretty good live when Billy Corgan's having a good night. The first time I saw them, in Philadelphia at a medium-sized venue, his singing was kind of off key and he seemed partially disinterested. The second time, at an arena concert, he seemed to be having a better day, and the performance was better. I believe the band is touring now, but since Jimmy Chamberlin left, I don't think they'll be that great live.

It was announced today that Ronnie died. What a legend guitar player, he played with some of the best. That first Montrose album with Sammy was simply killer and so much more. This was the music I grew up with.

He rocked T town just a few months back, and it was great see him live then, gald I did !!

Saw Edgar Meyer (Master of the double Bass) last night http://en.wikipedia....iki/Edgar_Meyer

It was just him and his Bass for 2 hours, amazing and wonderful original compositions. The accoustics at the Pantages theater were quite good, and his dynamics amazing, so soft could you hear the slightest of string growls, all the way up to fortissimo.

I've been to the warp tour about 5 times now and usually about 40 bands playing, and I get to see about 15 each time. But the most memorable from the warped tour were: Flogging Molly, New Found Glory, Bad Religion, Good Charlotte, Rise Against, All that Remains, and NOFX. I've also been to just regular concerts or bands at look bars so I have gotten to see Usher, Nickelback, Creed, Sevendust, Boyce Avenue, Christian Kane's band, Nora Jones, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson and more over the years. Yeah I can listen to about anything really.

My first show was RATM a long time ago, and I have seen more bands than I can remember since then. Living in the live music capitol of the world has it's perks. I have seen DMB about fifteen times now in different venues form west to east coast and thru Florida and into the Bahamas (Jam Band Cruise) and am going to make it seventeen by he end of May. Can't wait going to Houston and Dallas shows back to back.
