Ok.. this is something i have had a problem with for some time... and i am now at the stage where i can have my hair cut to create a medium style hair style.. but before i do that i would like to know a few things..

My hair is naturaly thick, naturally course... naturaly curly... my hair is at the length where a few strands of hair falls out during showers and sometimes brushing... so it is not as thick as it would normally be.. It is now shoulder height but curls and seems to shrink upward in a frizz as it dries.

What i would like to know is how do i make my hair soft, silky, flat and straight without using a hair straightener.. like which shampoo and conditioner and how often to deep condition to create the awsome smooth hair peoople are able to manage

Hi Sakura,

My hair is also kind of thick, coarse and uncontrollable as its geting longer and longer (just start growing them out a few months only).

My girl friends they use a kind of treatment called Ionic Hair Care in hair salon. It develops in Japan and really makes the hair very soft and shiny without flat ironing every time after shower, and it can last for a few months. I can't wait till my hair get longer and I will go try. Maybe some hair salon near you have some information about this.

Luv

Erikka :)

What is funny and soooo true,

Is that people, women, with straight hair want curly hair and vise versa.

The best I can offer is to go to a salon, and tell the stylist what you are wanting your hair to do.

That way you have a professional give you an honest assessment, get products recommended,

and get the experience of the hair salon.Which by the way,is very very rewarding. And something that girls like us have always wanted to do.I know I love going to my chosen salon. And being treated like any welcome woman customer.

Hugs,

Angie

My hair is what you described. I even bought a hair straightener a couple days ago and my hair still curled after a long day and I think I damaged my hair even more. My hair is long enough to wear a ponytail and touches shoulder length but still short on sides. I'm currently using Herb essence dangerously straight but it only helps just a little, although it does make it softer along with Dove shampoo.

I heard about Japanese salon what Erikka is talking about seeing it on youtube some weeks ago. Want to try that as well but I'm beginning to accept my hair is just that. I can't help it. It's genetic. What can I do, eh? In the past, I grew my hair as long as past my chest length so it'll be manageable once it grows that really long. Give it a time. BTW normal person's hair is suppose to fall out about 100 per day so it doesn't have anything to do with thickness I don't think.

I know your problem exactly. My hair, without the use of a straightener, is curly/wavy and completely unmanageable. Anyways, there are three products I use to get my hair straighter (though obviously it won't be as straight as a flat-iron would allow, but very close):

-Herbal Essence Hello Hydration

-Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Fortifying Deep Conditioner (works to eliminate frizz)

-Tigi Catwalk Anti-Frizz Serum Leave-In Conditioner

-TREsemme Hair Spray with Anti-Frizz Shield

Everything but the Tigi Catwalk Serum can be found in your local WalMart's Health and Beauty section. The Tigi can be found at a hair salon (and some WalMart's actually have a hair salon in them which would also carry the product--I know, I bought it there). WalMart sells non-Tigi leave-in serums as well, but I'm just saying what I'm familar with. The shampoo and conditioners will get your hair smooth, silky, and straight (just make your to brush it and then use a wide-tooth comb if you have one). The hair spray (assuming you aren't against using hydrofluorocarbons) will keep your style in place.

Hope this helps!

Welcome Violet.  It's been awhile since i found this space with so many who understand the struggle to simply be ourselves in a society that often disapproves,  It isn't an easy path but being together we can share all the bumps and the joys. You are not alone.   Hugs,   Charlize

I'm sorry it didn't work out for the new job. Nothing to keep you from being on the search. I had a coworker who used to walk out of the locker room saying; "I was looking for a job with I found this one and I'll keep searching for the next one. Never let them think you're comfortable and settled."   The coffee has just finished brewing, and we have a HVAC technician coming in about 30 minutes to do an annual system check.   It's time to get out of my Pj's.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Sally Stone, I have enjoyed reading this thread immensely. There certainly are some things in it that I can relate to, particularly when you wrote that "I wasn’t a man trapped in a woman’s body." This simple statement confirmed two things for me; I am not an imposter here, and I could end up much further along the path than what I imagine now.   I very much look forward to your future posts here.   I hope that by posing this question I'm not committing you to spoil future posts, but can I ask, why you have settled on Bigender as a label? I keep changing my label and have no idea what it might be tomorrow or next week or next month!

This whole Cass Review thing is breaking my heart. I keep imagining how it must be to be a trans kid in the UK atm. I am halfway through reading the review so that I can effectively refute it if and when people cite it here in Australia.

One thing I took on board from a former boss who was an absolute gentleman and fluent conversationalist but a hopeless leader because he was the classic yes man to his superiors, was to take the emotion out of the equation when arguing. Don't use hyperbole. Don't exaggerate. Stick to what you know and defeat your adversary with logic. Of course, your adversary will double down and make an even bigger fool of themselves, and not even realize that they have lost the argument, nor will they realize that people are laughing at them and not with them. It also helps if you can separate them from their minions.   A conservative elderly uncle, who left school at the age of 12, swears black and blue that taking Ivermectin (sheep dip) prevents Covid because he knew someone who knew someone else who took it and despite that person being momentarily in close contact with people who had Covid, didn't come down with it. "Well, you're the one with the science degree!" I said.   A lot of people argue out of ignorance. They base their points on populism and rumor. I rarely argue, but when I do, it is in an attempt to push back. Another favorite saying that I use is "Rumors are started by haters, spread by fools and believed by idiots." I then ask, "Which two are you?" 😉

Good morning, all!!! Cloudy today with some light rain coming. Not a day to work outside.   I will vacuum the house and the head out to our local hardware store after I get cleaned up. Time to buy a new bird feeder for the back porch.   I'm sorry the job didn't work @KymmieL! Hang in there.   It sounds like a busy time for you at work @Willow. Finding reliable people is so hard these days.   Time for another cup of coffee before I start cleaning!!   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.
