Yep I got them and they are actually easier to walk in than some of the shoes I have with smaller heels. ;)

The only drawback I see is that I have to cross my legs at the ankles when I sit at my desk, my legs don't fit under otherwise.:lol::lol:

LOL!

I had that problem last night in some heels I had crossed my legs and pulled my chair up to the computer..Then I realized that I was stuck.....

I also have some heels that are "clunky" (big heel base) and they are easy to walk in!

I'll bet the you love those new shoes ...they are beautiful!

Yep, and now I'll be just as tall as some of the taller women here. :D

That's unless they decide to wear heals also.:lol::lol:

Hi everybody, this is my first time on, and I'm very excited, and a little nervous.

Just this past week I went out and started a wardrobe. There is a clothing store closing in my town

and I went in to look around. I didn't have the nerve to purchase anything. I wanted so much

to buy a dress or a skirt and a top that later that day I went back. I picked up a pair of capri jeans

and a pair of black slacks.

I LOVE the capri's but it wasn't quite enough.

I went back the next day (after trying on the jeans and slacks -tucked-) and bought a brown top and a pair of

shoes. Kind of a sandle with a 1 1/2 to 2 inch heel. How I love them!

I was on a roll. The same day I bought the shoes I went to wash my car and while they did that

I went across the street to a thrift store to look around. I was in heaven but again very nervous.

I picked up 3 dresses I thought would fit and brought them to the counter. A ind of short "little black dress,

a long dress in a pretty print and a Jean dress that buttons up the front.

I told the woman at the counter I was buying them for a woman who was a single mom with no money.

I don't think she fell for it, but she was nice, and tried to help me in a "this is what your friend should do" way.

She suggested boots to go with the jean dress that lace way up.

Sorry if I went long, as I said I am excited and nervous. I love my new life, and I want to share it.

Thanks for listening.

I think a mistake is trying to make up an excuse unless they ask first. In any situation, if someone says "oh I'm doing this for a um... friend" then they're pretty much saying they're getting it for themselves. If you want a good alibi try finding a sales girl first, and ask her to find something to get your mom/sister for a "birthday" gift. Just make sure you know the size for sure when she asks.

Hi Alissa!

Let me be the first to welcome you to Laura's Playground! We are happy you're here and are posting and sharing.

I think others will also be around to welcome you, or you can also go over to the Introductions forum, and introduce yourself, there too, if you'd like.

It sounds like you have a really nice wardrobe going. And it looks like you found a way over the hurdle of how does one buy clothes for a different gender. Tho, I like Amy's suggestion too.

There's lots of places to explore here so look around and if you have any questions or want to add to other discussions, we'd love to hear from you.

Hugs

Thank you both so much for the kind words and suggestions. I guess you're right about asking for help,

though I got lucky with the sales lady, she actually seemed like she wanted to help me on my quest.

I did make a mistake in the size I bought, I got items in a 10, and I should have bought size 12. The good news

is it gives me a reason to lose weight, which I was not doing very good at as a man. I'm more conscience as a woman

of my weight.

I'll go find introductions to say hi to everyone, and thanks again. I feel safe here.

A lot of women actually love doing that kind of stuff for us. The only people I hear otherwise are usually black ladies (not trying to be racist but that's what I hear sometimes. Guess it depends on how liberal their families raised them), young teenage women who are too immature, and the older women who don't like change.

MissAmy,

Like I've mentioned before, in today's tough economic climate, if a salesperson is on commission (or even if they just have sales goals), any sale is a benefit to them, and turning away people certainly doesn't help oneself!

I guess the trick is to find stores where the sales staff are on commission. And if one salesperson is being less than considerate, just say, "Maybe I should get someone else to help me. Is the manager around so I can ask?".

I think the problem really is more maturity related, then anything else. Once a salesperson realizes exactly why they are working there - to sell clothes - as long as the money looks good, ANY customer should look good too. And any store you get good service? Go back again, and tell your friends.

Is there a list somewhere on the Playground that hilights the considerate stores? Like the chains especially, whether Nordstrom's or TJ Maxx?

Thanks I think I make a pretty good princess.

I got my blueberry dress and petticoat today. And the petticoat makes the skirt look and feel so much better. I'll upload some pics tommorow of all 3 costumes in the petticoat.

Since my first topic (telling one's spouse) actually went over better than I expected, I shall try another.

After reading some posts regarding wardrobes, I'm curious as to what all you/we have, where do you store it, if you have to hide it, where are some good places, how often do you update it. Or anything else you might like to share about your clothes!

Although the forum is for cross-dressers, any others (like those transitioning, for instance) are welcome to join in.

Let's see, I'll start, and at the top. I have three wigs, two brunette, both just over shoulder length, one fairly straight with bangs (I like bangs for some reason), the other a little wavy, the blond is longer (sort of a big hair, I bought it in a 'blond' moment - and I very seldom wear it anymore).

I have two dresses, one a black dressy sleeveless above the knee (the two -and others- in my early gallery pics are long gone), the other, also sleeveless but a more casual medium blue with white accents and double straps, just below the knee.

Four skirts, one tan and one black, both pencil shaped and above the knee (back zippered), the third a little white sport one that's rather short; the fourth is dark blue several inches below the knee, buttons up the front.

Three tops, a button up sleeved blouse with a muted animal print that goes with the tan skirt, a white button up sleeved blouse with pleats on the front that goes with the blue skirt, and a dark green sleeveless pullover that goes with the black.

Two pairs of shoes, dark blue pumps with about an inch or so heel, the other silver/gold strappy sandals with a 3 1/2" (or slightly more) heel.

A number of panties and bras, different colors, including a white longline, and a black strapless with garters. A black body shaper open at the legs, a panty girdle (no legs); cream thigh tops, black seamed stockings, several pairs of pantyhose dark and taupe, reinforced and nude. For sleeping, sort of a shear body suit that is extremely uncomfortable. Some accessories like clip on earrings, necklace, belts, my own cosmetics.

These all stay hidden because I have adult children that when not staying with us, still feel they have free run of the house as it's where they grew up. So mostly they're folded in a bundle or a garment bag both tucked way in the back of my closet, or occasionally in a large locked suitcase in the attic.

I actually purchased most of the above through mail order. A lot of thinking and looking as size charts, mostly I got it right, one or two things just a little roomy, one or two things a little tight. (but that's also a weight problem!!!) I once purchased a blouse at a real dept. store (way 'out of town') but a little too small. Long gone. Several items were retrieved (that my wife got, but hardly wore).

So, please share with the rest of us!

Hi Chloe,

Great post, Well Ive taken a while to gather my collection and and as I live alone I dont have problems re privacy.

I really have so much clothing. And as I have just been out at night a few times I could probably do with less. I have a full

makeup "kit" but am not good yet re application -a trans friend will be helping me soon re that. Dont know about you Chloe

but Ive a thing for shoes ..I just love shoes , I think I have 30 pairs, not going to count them cos if I dont know EXACTLY

how many I have then theres no need to be ASHAMED of myself ...right?? B) I mean you never know when you need

a particular pair sooooooo. See ya, Luv, Viv. :)

I love the look the petticoat gives to the skirt even though you need a longer dress if you don't want your underwear to show.

I have almost nothing interesting because my wallet has almost nothing.

(Female-wise)

Enough underwear to last through until laundry day,

One pair of jeans

One blue tee-shirt

one fullzip hoodie vest

Three Bras

One Garter Belt + Stockings

One Spaghetti-strap top / nighty (waist-length)

One pair Kodiak Steel-toe boots

One pair of PJ pants

Male wise, I have

One pair of Beige Khaki Cargo pants

One pair blue-jeans

One pair track-pants / shorts (zip-offs)

3 sleeveless shirts, 4 tee-shirts

Baker's Dozen - or - so boxer shorts

30 pairs plain grey socks

2 fullzip hoodies

One pair black Nike runners

And I don't really need to hide anything. My parents know, my daughter's too young to have a problem with it, my husband doesn't mind at all, and my little brother is too wise to snoop through my things.

Hello, all my beautiful sisters!

Well, I have the house to myself for a change, so I'm totally en femme--wig, full makeup, breastforms, jewelry, and loving it! I'm wearing my absolute favorite outfit: black satin miniskirt, silver-white chiffon blouse with black and pink flowers, cap sleeves and scoop neckline--very tasteful. Underneath, a three-piece black lace and satin lingerie set--bra, thong and garter belt, with black stockings. All topped off (or bottomed off) with a pair of black patent leather strappy sandals with 5-inch spike heels. Plus dangly black beaded earrings and a small black pendant on a silver necklace. Oh, and a gld bracelet--and a gold red garnet heart pinky ring.

In my closet, I have three different red dresses my wonderful wife gave me: a long, huggy, sleeveless evening gown with a line of rhinestones going down from the neckline, a cocktail-length spaghetti strap number with three tiers that swirl great, and an even shorter halter dress. Then there is a mid-calf light blue flowered dress with an elasticized waistline that I can't decide if I like, a blue denim mini-skirt with flowered hem, a white cotton miniskirt and a white cotton peasant looking below-the knee skirt, a black chiffon short skirt with pink flowers. Blouses--a pink knit short-sleeve, a brocaded short-sleeve in brown and an identical one in mint green, a short-sleeve white cotton blouse. A red satin blouse with narrow black satin ties--I think that's about it. About a dozen pairs of high-heels in various colors and styles, including a pair of calf-length boots that didn't turn out to be as sexy as I'd hoped.

A fairly full (okay, very full) lingerie drawer include enough satin and lace panties to take me through the week, several two- and three-piece sets, and a few additional bras, and three very short nighties.

Whew! I probably forgot something, but that's about it. Why do I still feel like I need to go shopping? Ooooh, look at that cute dress! . . .

Hugs to all of you.

Miss Amy,

Love the fact that you only list linergie. That's all I have also. Three bras, couple dozen panties, all different styles, (really like my victoria's secret thong), a chemise, and a set of neon pink Pj's. Got the pjs at a thrift store, I like them but they are a little too loud.

Kinda of like to get further into it but Don't have any where to go. so, I'm content with what I have for now.

Love ya,

Bought a new babydoll at VS today. It's a black french maid one. Has a good looking thong to it too. Unlike most other nighties, this one could actually be worn comfortably as regular underwear.

Also went back to VS this morning to use my last rewards card. I went and bought the 5 for 25 panties which came out to 15 bucks. It's a shame because when I was looking for them, my size L had a bunch of empty drawers. I wanted to get a few different styles like boyshorts, but I ended up leaving with 4 thongs and a v-string.

The experience was the same for me @April Marie. I slept much deeper and I woke up each morning feeling so much more restful sleeping with forms solidly in place. For me, wearing breast forms at night started when before I was a teenager. I had no access up to modern breast forms and certainly no way to buy mastectomy bras back then. I wore a basic bra my mom had put in a donation box and two pairs of soft cotton socks. I have some crazy memories of things I did in my youth to combat my GD but regardless, these makeshift concoctions helped me work through it all.   All My Best, Susan R🌷

Colorado isn't exactly a Republican place, and won't become one anytime soon.  I think those folks might be better off not spending their time playing Don Quixote.    We certainly have our share of California "refugees" moving into where I live, so I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing Coloradans too.  I suspect the trend over the next few years will see the blue areas getting more blue and the red areas getting more red as anybody who can relocate tries to find a place where they fit better.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Well, at least it'll be a place some folks could choose.  Options are a good thing.

My family would have gobbled that jar up in a minute or two.  When we do have pickled herring, its usually for Christmas.  I didn't grow up with that particular dish, but I grew up in a Greek family so I like just about any kind of fish if I can get it.  However, ocean fish and freshwater fish taste so different.  We usually have more catfish and tilapia to eat than anything else.    What I can't quite get used to is the tons of cabbage my GF insists on eating.  When you live with a Russian, there is always cabbage soup.  Always.  When I first moved in with her, breakfast was "shchi" for soup and either bread or "kasha" which is a bowl of boiled buckwheat with butter and salt.  Those dishes can be made in any number of ways, some are better than others.  In the winter, it can even be salty and sour like kraut.  Not exactly sauerkraut, but packed in tubs with vinegar and salt so it keeps partially for the winter.  But I drew the line when the cabbage soup included pieces of fried snake one day.  😆

Good evening to you as well @Mmindy   That is awesome that you have support from her side. My dad has communicated with me once and that was because he was forced to. His new wife wanted to spend time with my kids. He hated me so much he was in the process of taking my rights away as a parent to my two boys. He was talking to a lawyer and I called him out on it. I don't love him at all. I'll respect him because I wouldn't be here without him but I wished I had another father. My uncles don't talk to me and unfriended me on Facebook. Almost all cousins except for two are still Facebook friends but they don't give me any support. My mom said she won't support me with that but she has said that she loves me. I have nieces and nephews that are still Facebook friends but they have yet to talk to me. I have one sister that supports me out of three. The other's disrespect me by deadnaming me. They have never called me their sister. I think for them they think it's still a phase. They don't ask questions about me being trans. I have to bring it up and on the look of their faces they don't look comfortable about it.

Good evening @Ashley0616,   I just got offline with HP tech support trying to get my printer tool box icon locked to my tool bar. This is one of the most important features of my printer that I like because it keeps track of ink, paper, and scanned documents. I'm diffidently not a computer geek.   I'll catch up with the other bookmarks next week. We leave to go home for the Easter Holiday with our families. Saturday with her side, and Sunday with my side. What's odd about that is I'm out to more of her side and they're reluctantly supportive. My side on the other hand are less supportive, and my sister just under me in age will not acknowledge my being there. She will be constantly moving to keep from dealing with me. I'm dead to her.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

My view is we are "dependent" on government, because as a society, we are too lazy to stay actively involved. So, we let politicians do our bidding for us.  I think we'd be in a better place government wise if we policed the actions of our politicians.  We elected them; they work for us.  Sadly, we are allowing them to run amok.  We are where we are because we have chosen to let politicians make all decisions without us.  Remember "by the people, for the people?" That was the intent of our democracy.  Today, however, it is "by the politicians, for the politicians," the people be damned.

"Play Ball! Batter Up!" is the closing line of the National Anthem as far as I'm concerned. It's the call of the Home Plate Umpire and signals the start of the game. I grew up in the TV and Radio broadcast of the St. Louis Cardinals. Harry Caray, Jack Buck, Tim McCarver, and Mike Shannon, were the voices on my transistor radio. KMOX 1120 AM pushing 50,000 watts of Class A clear-channel non-directional signal. It could be picked up all across MO, IL, IN to the East. KS, OK, CO to the West. IA, MN to the North, and KY, TN, AR to the South. There has always been a rivalry against the Chicago Cubs, in the National League. As for the American League, I have to pull for the Kansas City Royals. I've also been a Little League Umpire, and fan of everything the Little League stands for. Going to Williamsport, PA and seeing the Little League World Series is in my top 10 things to do on my bucket list.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good evening everyone,   I don't think my mother ever cooked a meal that I didn't like. We also had a kitchen where mom fixed the food, dad filled your plate, and you eat it. It wasn't until our baby brother was born that we could have Pop-Tarts for snacks. Before that all snacks had to meet mom's approval, and in her opinion wouldn't prevent you from eating supper.   Well my day started off on a good note, but has become frustrating because my IT person didn't transfer my saved videos I use for teaching. Then I found out that they didn't save any of my book marks for websites I use frequently.   Best wishes, stay motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

The number is relative to method of deliver, the time of the dose, and when the blood is drawn. However, I do want to keep away from DVT and other potential issues. I assume I may be getting backed down from my current dose, but my doc told me to stick with the higher dose, so? I also wonder if this has anything to do the my breast growth and mental changes that have been happening over the past few years, like I have some estrogen sensitivity so a little goes a long way or something? I don't have enough data to postulate, but who knows!   With weekly, subcutaneous, shots you expect to see big swings of serum level estradiol from shot to peak to trough. My doctor is interested in mid-week testing (for E and T levels only), which would be post-peak blood serum levels but they will be higher than trough. Most, if not all, resources I've seen online is to measure at trough (which I might do just to do it next time) along with a SHBG, LH, and other metrics.   This is from transfemscience.org for Estradiol valerate in oil, which is very spiky compared to some other estradiol combinations. It's also for intramuscular, which will have a slower uptake and is usually dosed in higher volume due to the slower absorption rate from muscles. They don't have subcutaneous numbers, which I would expect to see similar spikes but higher levels at similar doses due to the relatively higher absorption rate direct from fat.   Are you doing pills, shots, or patches? And when you do get your levels checked are you getting that done when your levels are lowest or some other time?
