Female-bodied Crossdressers

I don't want to offend anyone, but I'm surprised at how few female-bodied crossdressers there are.

What makes it so much less common, I wonder? I know that when I wear men's clothing, I just wear it because it's what I find comfortable and what makes me feel happy and normal in.

And I know most of the people that frequent this forum are male-bodied and dress in feminine clothes. They feel happy and normal in feminine clothing.

I guess there is a lot of minor female-bodied crossdressing going on - like females wearing trousers and tuxedos and the like - but it's just so uncommon. It's sometimes like female crossdressers don't even exist.

This is my personal opinion but I'm sure there are a lot of female-bodied crossdressers out there, the thing is, it is acceptable for a female to wear male clothing.

Look at the number of women you see every day in jeans or trousers, t-shirts or jumpers. How many women wear trainers or walking boots. How many of these you see walking around openly, now look at how many men you see walking freely around with a skirt or a nice pair of heels and hose on.

The scales are weighted heavily in favour of the female in this world at least when it comes to dress and clothes.

But, as I said, this is just my opinion from observing the number of females who wear men's clothing day in, day out, without a comment being raised. But you just try it the other way, a man in women's clothes! Disgusting! (the response you'll get).

I wear clothes I buy in the men's section of a department store.

It makes me happy to wander around and see *lots* of things I like instead of *nothing* I like in the women's section.

I only wear trainers or work boots.

So I suppose I am cross-dressing, as in actually doing it, but not sure if I would identify as CD, if that makes sense.

I can pass until I speak, but like Petra Jane said, the realisation doesn't make people freak out like they might if it was the other way around.

i think that crossdressing is only crossdressing if it's done because it's crossdressing. otherwise, clothes are just clothes

I'd have to agree with everyone here. It's more socially acceptable... if there wasn't a solid delineation between the two styles of clothing, you would probably see more male-bodied crossdressing behaviour happen.

It's just sobering since the media seems to make the word crossdresser equivalent to "man in woman's clothing" and completely ignores the opposite end of the spectrum. Like what they did before with transsexuals - all of them transwomen, practically.

Greetings I am new to the forum so just want to say hello and add my 2 cents. Women in men's clothing is mostly accepted in today's society. Look how prevalent it is for women to be in pants and slacks. This wasn't always the case. According to my wife (who mostly got told by her mother) in the 50s no self respecting women wore pants! it was skirts or dresses and modest too! Now look at the designers that adopted men's styles of all sorts.

Men's styles have grown more casual to the extent that a lot of business environments no longer require suits or jackets and ties are no longer required. But there are still a big disparity in terms of the range of style options available to men's clothes.

Now men in general tend to be a little larger and less properly proportioned compared to women. If you look at the options available to the larger size women the clothes are less attractive and to add insult to injury frequently cost more than their smaller sizes in a comparable style. Now there is a hint here : unless you are very small and can pull it off many of these smaller sizes do not work on a larger framed male. My wife tells me thats one of the first thing crossdressers must do if they wish to avoid being made or ridiculed.
