Security is an important saftey concern here. A Child predator and kiddie pornographer has been caught here Pm ing our teens users. We have deleted his account. He did manage to pm some teen users before we caught him. His information is being turned over to the FBI. When you recieve a PM that makes you uncomfortable please PM a staff member immediatly. Predators and admirers are not allowed here under any circumstances.

His ID was crackdegghead (74.135.51.167) [email protected]. This man is to be considered dangerous.

As a senior member in age, I tend to look at our young people as a mother would look at her children. Whenever some pervert behaves inappropriately toward my kids, it tends to tick me off. Well done, Laura.

I'm not defending him or challenging you, but is he really into that stuff? How was it confirmed? It seems serious. This is a bit distressing for me. This guy did talk to me, and comment on my pics. I am worried. I thought I could share my pics without being scared, since guests or non members can't see them. I'm guilty and naive though, I guess, since being a girl is new to me. I'm very impressionable and easily flattered. It's my fault for craving attention and praise and people telling me I'm pretty. I feel sick to know that a possible child pornographer could have right clicked and saved my pics though, and now they're out there. >.> I'm hoping this isn't true, because I hate to think of it. I might be in denial though. I feel ashamed, confused, disgusted, and don't know who I can trust anymore. This really deflated the great day I was having.

Hi Michelle,

Don't feel ashamed at what has happened it's not your fault, they are very clever at getting into your mind, but I have to say that with the security that is in place on here you are pretty much safe, but one will always slip through the net, and for this reason I say to everyone be very careful with whom you confide, it's best to keep personal details to yourself, there are those of us who are totally out in the open about ourselves, but not everyone is and to stay in stealth be very very careful.

Please all of you take care.

Is there any advice we can have to help out on this subject in the future...is there tips and whatnots to look out for to better protect ourselves as well?

Some of us has been on line for some time and are aware of some of the dangers...but some may not be so experienced in this...so was wondering if there is any tips that could be pointed out?

One point that we keep plugging away at, but bears repeating, never give your personal contact details out, also, there is an option on your user profile to NOT show email, make sure this is ticked please, it's one of those settings that seems to be set to show rather than keep private by default.

Honestly, people like these are masters of deception from the get-go. Michelle, any of us could have been tricked by someone like him. What is important is that he was caught, and as it stands right now, the damage appears to be minimum. Take this experience, all of us, and apply it to your lives. You now at least have a partial idea of what to look for in predators like him. Hopefully in the future, if something like this were to happen you can see it coming and get away before anything bad happens! Great job in getting rid of him Laura!

I did wrestle with whether to make this public or not. I didn't want to upset anyone here. However it is a serious matter and users needed to be warned. Predators and admirers need to be put on notice that their information will be made public and sent to the appropriate authorties. They will not be tolerated here. Remember if he's doing it to you he is likely doing it to dozens of others here too, some of which are underage teens. In this case he sent several pm's with the exact same message: "I think you are beautiful". Then he proceeded to ask for dates and members pictures. If someone does that to you a red flag and a siren should go off in your head. With each response to him he will get bolder until he asks to meet you. From that point on you could be in danger. Did you ever wonder how people like this even get kids to go with them? Who would run off with a stranger? They are experts at charm and hiding their threatening nature.

THis not the first time this has happened here and it won't be the last. We have given lots of warnings about protecting yourself here by not giving out your personal information. Few listen and our warnings just lead to raised eyebrows. You are anonymous here as you want to be. Your information is safe here. What good does that do though if users give their information out themselves? We never know what is on a users mind who registers here and we have no crystal ball. We hope people are here for support and most are. We can't start giving people online lie detector tests it wouldn't work. It is important that we remain easily accessable to those who need us in the community. This leaves us slightly vulnerable but not defenseless. Our security is excellent here and we can catch them when they make their move. You can help us catch them faster though by reporting any inappropriate PM's you receive.

This is the basic profile of a predator or admirer: They almost never post publicly (posts 0) and are almost always new users. You won't see an introduction post because they want to stay off our radar. They usually start PM'ing our users right away to the point of spamming on our radar screen. They send almost exactly the same message to everyone which is quite charming and flattering. At first it's a request for more pics of you. If you already have pics in the Gallery why does he need more. Next he asks you to offsite on a messanger program to meet and chat. WHy doesn't he use the chat here? Next he talks about dating you. Then he wants to meet. He may or may not talk about sex at first. Meeting him could put you in danger. All the while he will be charming and even respectful.

Ask yourself what he does he want to do with your pics? Why doesn't he post publicly? Instead he stays in the shadows.

If he wants a date their are many sites he can go to http://www.lauras-playground.com/trans_date.htm . Why come to a support site to date? He knows that here he is more likley to find someone emotionally vulnerable. This is why we keep Sex offenders and admirers off this site. There are tons of dating sites he can find TG's on. We have only a small handfull of support sites. This is the only one that does online suicide prevention. What better place for a predator to strike?

Please keep yourself safe. It's not everyone who is what they say they are. Some really are dangerous. We have enough problems. You have anonymity here, please use it.

Thank you very much, Laura. I am glad that you did make it public. Your previous post made utmost sense to me with absolute clarity. It was a good reality check for me and a lesson to be learned. I am glad that at least I did not give out any personal info or names.

After reading about the Predator that recently tried to capture some of us sort of speak…I began looking back into past postings…and I found a few other heart breaking things that has happen.

I am new so I wanted to look back into past postings to get a better feel of the people here. I admire how Laura has over come heart break after heart break…just to continue to believe in what she has created here…your heart Laura must be as large as the universe…and beyond.

And I for one am truly happy to see the site continue…and to see Laura’s heart flourish even more…

What I have noticed from reading past postings…Laura and everyone who helps out on the site has never asked for anything in return…other then respect…so you have that from me…to everyone. B)

Ohhhh, well even though that guy did PM me, I never felt like he was invading my privacy, he didn't ask for pics of me or anything. But then again, I didn't really give him much to feed off of, I just said Hi back and asked him about himself. But I'm not surprised at how it turned out, i was a little suspicious of him in the first place, I should have reported him. But oh well, great security, I feel really good about being here, knowing how safe it is.

Really, great work with the site as always, and I am proud to be here. :D

yeah...i also inspected some of the images that were sent to some of the members here, but it's definitely photoshopped. I can point out how the lighting's weird, and the height proportion is a little off and ....i can go off on other things...but you get the point.

Either way we should all be careful. On our forums, online, and real life. We're all here to discuss too :-D

Ugh, now I am glad I said something! He Creeped me out and I guess I was not alone. Laura Thank you for telling everyone here who and what he was. I hope he is the last one to come in here.

I was wondering why he directly contacted me through yahoo where he tried to get some info from me. The red flag was when he sent his reply of just a 32 m admirer when I asked him who he was. I had never seen him here before and I wasn't going to have anything to do with him after his reply.

Again Laura I want to thank you for all the hard work you put up with just keeping this site running. You and all of the staff here are a blessing.

I hate people like that.

People who take advantage of others like that.

I don't know why, but after I read the news about the predator...I almost started to cry.

Thank you for keeping us safe, I know how much you try and care, but...I'm scared now.

I can offer this little tid bit of assistance : If you are pm'd without permission , or asked for a pm and the person doing the pm starts getting in any way personal, immediately pm a staff member and report the discomfort from the person. The staff will deal with them expeditiously. We try to catch all the bad people but can not get them all unless we have users telling us about them as they are doing their dastardly deeds. You do not need to ask an RM or Supervisor to pm(especially to report trouble). WE ARE HERE TO BOTH HELP AND PROTECT YOU . ........ SharleahLynn

Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.   We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.   I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.   Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.

I think we tend to be overly critical of our looks, whether we're trying to express ourselves as masculine, feminine or anywhere along the gender spectrum. For me, I use photos as a way to track my progress, to help me find my style and look and to help me find ways to improve myself in posture, looks, make-up, style......   I didn't really think about our FB avatar being public but then realized that when people search they do see it.   Since I'm not out to anyone but my wife, therapist, priest and people here, my FB page remains "that guy." I have created a Bitmoji that is relatively androgynous moving slowly towards the feminine. Long gray hair, earrings, softer features...I'm transitioning it along with myself. :-)

I so very much enjoy your posts. This one, though, hit home with me for many reasons. I was commissioned in the Army in '77, as well. Like you, I was not overly masculine in the way that many of our contemporaries were. I (still do) cried at weddings, pictures of puppies and babies, when I talked about bring proud of what my units accomplished and was never the Type A leader. In the end, it worked for me and I had a successful career.   This is, of course, your story not mine so I won't detail my struggle. It just took me much longer to understand what the underlying cause of my feelings was and even more to admit it. To act on it.    Thank you for sharing your story, Sally.

Post 6 “The Military Career Years” In 1977 I joined the Army and went to flight school to become a helicopter pilot.  To fly for the military had been a childhood dream and when the opportunity arose, I took advantage of it, despite knowing I would have to carefully control my crossdressing activity.  At the time, military aviation was male dominated and a haven for Type A personalities and excessive testosterone.  I had always been competitive but my personality was not typically Type A.  And while I could never be considered effeminate, I wasn’t overtly masculine either.  Consequently, I had little trouble hiding the part of my personality that leaned towards the feminine side.    However, serving in the Army limited my opportunities for feminine self-expression.  During this period, I learned that being unable to express my feminine nature regularly, led to frustration and unhappiness.  I managed these feelings by crossdressing and underdressing whenever I could.  Underdressing has never been very fulfilling for me, but while I was in the Army it was a coping mechanism.  I only cross-dressed in private and occasionally my wife would take me out for a late-night drive.  Those drives were still quite private, but being out of the house was clearly therapeutic.    I told myself I was coping, but when it became apparent the Army was going to be a career, the occasional and closeted feminine expression was clearly inadequate.  I needed more girl time and I wanted to share my feminine side with the rest of the world, so the frustration and unhappiness grew.  Despite my feelings regarding feminine self-expression, I loved flying, so I wasn’t willing to give up my military career.  Consequently, I resigned myself to the fact that the female half of my personality needed to take a back seat, and what helped me through, was dreaming of military retirement, and finally having the ability to let Sally blossom.   About Sally. Ironically, she was born while I was still serving.  It was Halloween and my wife and I were hosting a unit party.  I looked upon the occasion as the perfect excuse to dress like a girl.  After a little trepidation, my wife agreed I should take advantage of the opportunity.  Back then, my transformations were not very good, but with my wife’s help, my Halloween costume looked quite authentic.  Originally, my wife suggested that my presentation should be caricature to prevent anyone from seeing through my costume.  But that didn’t appeal to me at all.  I wanted to look as feminine and ladylike as I could.   To my wife’s and my amazement, my costume was the hit of the party.  In fact, later in the evening, my unit buddies decided they wanted to take me out drinking and before either me or my wife could protest, I was whisked away and taken to one of our favorite watering holes.  Terrified at first, I had an amazing time, we all did.  But on Monday morning, when I came to work, I learned that I had a new nickname; it was Sally, and for the duration of that tour, that’s what I was called.  Well, when it came time for me to choose a feminine name, there weren’t any other choices.  Sally it was, and to this day I adore the name, and thank my pilot buddies for choosing it.   And this brings me to my last assignment before retiring.  I was teaching military science in an Army ROTC program at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.  I had been a member of TRIESS (a nationwide crossdressing support group).  I wasn’t really an active participant but when we moved to Georgia, I learned there was a local chapter in Atlanta.  I reached out to the membership chair person, and joined.   Because the chapter meetings took place in Atlanta, a trans friendly city, and because Atlanta was so far from Macon and any of my military connections, I felt it would be safe to let my feminine hair down.  The monthly meetings took place in the Westin Hotel and Conference Center in Buckhead, an upscale northern Atlanta suburb, and the hotel itself was 4-star.  The meetings were weekend affairs with lots of great activities that allowed me to express myself in a public setting for the first time.  It was during this time, that Sally began to blossom.   I have the fondest memories of Sigma Epsilon (the name of our chapter in Atlanta).  Because the hotel was also a conference center, there was always some big event, and in many cases, there were several.  One weekend there was a nail technician conference that culminated in a contest on Saturday evening.  When the organizers learned there was a huge group of crossdressers staying at the hotel, they reached out to us looking for manicure volunteers.  I volunteered and got a beautiful set of long red fingernails that I wore for the duration of the weekend.   During another of our meeting weekends, there was a huge military wedding taking place, and imagine what we were all thinking when we learned it was a Marine wedding.  Our entire group was on edge worrying we might have to keep a low profile.  It turned out to be one of the most memorable weekends I would experience there.  First off, the Marines were all perfect gentlemen.  On Friday night and throughout the day on Saturday before the wedding, we rubbed elbows with most of them and their wives in and around the hotel, and at the hotel bar.  In fact, we got along so well the bride invited us to the reception.  Somewhere, there is a picture of me with a handsomely dressed Marine draped on each of my arms, standing in the lobby of the hotel.  Sadly, I never got a copy of it because the woman who took the picture used a film camera (yes, they actually took picture that way in ancient times).    My two-years with Sigma Epsilon was the perfect transition.  I went from being fully closeted to being mostly out.  I enhanced my feminine presentation and significantly reduced my social anxiety.  It also signified the end of one life and the beginning of another.  I had a great career and never regretted serving, but I was ready to shed the restrictions 20-years of Army service had imposed on my feminine self-expression.  My new life, Sally’s life, was about to begin, and with it I would begin to fully spread a new set of wings, this time feminine wings.    Hugs, Sally

Ashley, for a very long time she clung to the term crossdresser, because for her it was less threatening.  Over the years, though, she has come to recognize and acknowledge that I have a strong feminine side.  And like me, she now has a much better understanding of where my transgender journey is going, so me being bigender, isn't the threat she might have perceived it as, years ago.
