Love is an ever confusing thing

Never quite know what the future will bring

What if it's just not meant to be

What if her heart just doesn't choose me

Leave me alone to wallow in my grief

Maybe our love was just meant to be brief

Sometimes I wonder what I did wrong

For her I have always tried to be strong

What if she decides to leave me alone

I know that my heart won't just turn to stone

I'll always be here no matter what

I'll try not to let me get stuck in that rut

I'll stand here before you

I'll make it through

But for now I'll just wait

Maybe soon I will learn my fate

Alex, you told me your poetry was getting weak, but I like this one. Of course, the pain of not knowing whether a love is shared is never something to celebrate, but your poetry tells me you have a beautiful mind. And, perhaps, a heart that is true.

Nice. I can relate to that. I like it. Especially the line about your heart not turning to stone. I feel like sometimes that would be a lot easier, and sometimes that's where i go, but in the end the stone isn't what i want for my life. I don't want to be that closed down. The alternative is scary and painful sometimes though.

I love the poem, its so lovely. You have done it again, you make my heart smile. I am so honored you call my your friend. You mean so much to me, You will never be alone. However, far away i might drift away you are always in my mind, soul, spirit. Open your heart and love, don't be affaid. Its funny that this is coming from me you know what i have been through. Everytime i open my eyes, I see you holding me tight. Thanks for being there when i need you most. I know in my heart, true love will find you my love.
