I'm not sure which one is better because I don't want more cuts/razor bumps but I want a closer shave so I don't know which one to pick...

Guest i is Sam :-)

3 blades, my mach 3 was my best friend, tho now i use a venus, but then really i tend to buy what's on offer.

I tried a fusion but my hair was too thick, the blades would get gunked up like every second.

I like my five-bladed razor, and I use it on both my face and my legs. I just have to be careful about the blade getting dull :(. Those blades are really expensive to replace.

Can't wait until I no longer have to worry about my face :(. Should only be three more months or so...

5-Blades are great! I used to use 3 blades but always gave me razor bumps. Since the 5 bladed Venus come out, never give me any problem but they are expensive.

I only use two or three bladed razors...

More than that ...they get gunked up too fast...

And having my face half done with electrolysis..there's not a lot of shaving left...

Be glad when it's ALL gone!

I actually shave what's left on my face with a 5-blade and the rest of me with a 3-blade. The new Venus 5-blade variety is quite pricey just now. I suppose when it comes down in price or Gilette phases out the 3-blade, I'll use the 5 for my legs and torso as well.

personally always used a single bladed safety straight, they shave clean, don't pull if the hair is too tough, and cost less than half as much. Plus more enviromentally sound as all you throw away is the actual blade, with no plastic bodywork, only problem is if you nick yourself with it you will know about it.

I use the gilette fusion, my only problem is razor burn. But I have that problem with any razor I use daily. I have been meaning to add something here for a while. There was a post a while back about how to shave and someone here suggested trying to shave down first then lather up again and shave up. I tried this as well as changing my shaving cream for my face to womans skintimate gel for legs and OMG, I have never had such a smooth face. I even resist the urge to shave daily and only shave every second day. My results are mostly smooth skin with no razor burn. Who ever that was that suggested shaving that way (I can't remember) thank you so much, you are an angel.

I use the Gillette Fusion too. It gives me by far the smoothest shave with the least chance of nicks. But like Donna Jean, after 9 months

of laser hair removal, shaving has become a lot quicker and easier. After I'm done now, my face is as smooth as a baby's behind. Luckily,

it isn't as smelly.

BTW, I've always wondered, if two blades are good, and three are really good, and five are great, why don't they just make a 10 blade razor?

That would be awesome, and the razor face would be big enough to do your entire face in one swipe. :D

I'm a genius!

Use the Fusion Power, closer shave than the regular fusion, but only every second day, otherwise my face looks like a warzone, minus the dead bodies. As for the 10 blade, Carolyn, not a chance in Hades, too many chances of cutting myself to ribbons with it.

That was me. I have a really bad razor bump problem and i ended up talking to a friend and they gave me the same advice and it was the greatest thing I could have been told. You are very welcome

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!!! A beautiful milestone.    I hope to see you tonight...I just have to stay awake long enough!!

It's funny with photos isn't it, how we think we look in them vs. how we actually do look in them! I'm hopeless at smiling and I have to try really hard not to frown or look like a zombie. I'm never sure how I come across to others.   I had a moment late last night when my eldest daughter facetimed my wife for some now forgotten reason, and when I was handed the tablet and talking to her, I was fixated on my image in the corner. My hair was wild at the time, I was a bit tipsy and all I saw was a woman! I have no idea what she saw in that context. I'll probably never know.

I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.   Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.

This is a scarily accurate description of what I feel!   I hope I don't sound too schmaltzy by saying this, but I remember when I signed up to this forum last year, during the sign-up process the question is asked, "Why do you want to join TransPulse?" to which I wrote, "Looking for a home where I can freely write about my issues and interact with similar people."    I think I just found one. ❤️

Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.   We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.   I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.   Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.

I think we tend to be overly critical of our looks, whether we're trying to express ourselves as masculine, feminine or anywhere along the gender spectrum. For me, I use photos as a way to track my progress, to help me find my style and look and to help me find ways to improve myself in posture, looks, make-up, style......   I didn't really think about our FB avatar being public but then realized that when people search they do see it.   Since I'm not out to anyone but my wife, therapist, priest and people here, my FB page remains "that guy." I have created a Bitmoji that is relatively androgynous moving slowly towards the feminine. Long gray hair, earrings, softer features...I'm transitioning it along with myself. :-)
