Does Soy Make You More Feminine?

I know this has probably been asked before, but I'm vegan, so I use soy as a milk substitute, but I dont wanna be even more feminine. Now, I could just as easily use almond, hemp, or rice milk, but soy tends to taste better. I'll switch to one of those if it is feminizing.

As far as I know this is a myth because of a few studies done on infertile men and rodents. More information can be found here (with some journal references if you're particularly interested): http://www.soyconference.com/magazines/jun10.pdf

I'm vegan as well.

The amount of phytoestrogen in soy products is completely negligible to the feminizing process, and, in high consumption can actually lead to health problems (a higher risk for breast cancer, I believe.) However, the phytoestrogen in soy also tends to actually replace that of naturally occurring human estrogen, which could potentially (over a long period of time) decrease the amount of estrogen your body makes. This isn't a good thing though. The phytoestrogen also has a nasty habit of increasing the cell turnover rate in your bones, which is, um, not exactly what you want (IE, it weakens your bones.) And I don't think you want weak bones.

So, anyway, Soy won't make you anymore feminine and should be eaten in moderation; it isn't anywhere as healthy as we were once lead to believe. Heck, even in Asian cultures it is only eaten (primarily) as a condiment.

Cheers.

Nawww....

Don't worry about it

We've had a number of MTF's ask about this same thing with soy and someone would have to drink hundreds of glasses of it a day to start seeing any real effects...

And, who can do that?.....lol

No - maybe a million gallons a year or something - but that would also probably kill you. Soy does not contain estrogen, just a similar component. If Soy worked as an estrogen source, no one here that is MTF would be on HRT.

Don't worry about a thing hon :)

Diet will not ever make one more feminine or more masculine... OK?

Eat healthy :)

Wow, thanks for all of the info everyone has given on this thread.

I'm lactose intolerant so any bad effects of soy is pretty disconcerting to me. Fortunately, I hate the taste of any milk substitute and only drink it when I REALLY REALLY want some cereal.

I'm vegetarian but I tried out soy milk for a bit. I disliked the taste unless it had chocolate in it. :P I still drink it plain occasionally, when I forget how awful it tastes!

Whew, ok thanks. I dont actually drink it that much... mostly just in cereal, or, say, if I wanted to make vegan brownies or something. But, if it had had any feminizing effects AT ALL, I would have stopped drinking it completely.

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).
