Boys Don't Cry is an awesome movie based on a true story. I think it won some awards too.

Yeah I was looking for the same thing. Boys don't cry was the only one I was able to find and have got it on order. If you watch it before me please come and tell me what you think of it.

Boys don't Cry was a good movie even if it deviate somewhat from the actual facts of the case. The actress that portrayed Brandon (Hillary Swank) did an exceptional job...I recall reading that she had cut her hair and appeared for the casting call even wearing a binder.

I've got the DVD in the personal collection...snagged it, admittedly, not so much because of the plotline but because I was and am a big Chloe Svigny fan.

Look for Southern Comfort (wiki info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Comfort_%282001_film%29). One of the better movies about what trans individuals face.

Also look for "Becoming Chaz" to be released shortly (I think it's going to air on the OWN network on May 10th)

Boys don't cry is a good film, but not for the faint hearted. And can possibly be trigger to any FTM's who have been victimised in any way. That is a word of caution.

It's a sad movie. The saddest movie I have seen due to the fact it's based on a true story which makes it all the more hard hitting.

So good film but anyone with a heart probably couldn't walk away from watching it without being affected emotionally.

I can't find this movie. Is that the right name? Or has it not been released to DVD yet?

Also, I thought "Transgeneration" was pretty good. It's a mini-series that follows a couple of trans guys and a couple of trans ladies for a few years.

Apart from documentaries, and Boy's Don't Cry (great movie, alright but...I didn't really love it. It was the second FtM character I had ever seen on TV, and the other one was a serial killer (from CSI), so yeah, not too encouraging to only see one FtM who ended up as a serial killer and killed himself and a FtM who got raped and killed ), is there ANYTHING else? Even if it's not centered on FtM(s) but it's still a relevant part it's alright.

Also, it would be great if the character was a POSITIVE one for a change (as in "doesn't turn into a psycho" and "doesn't get killed in a horrible way").

There is a movie I just heard about called Romeos by Sabine Bernardi

synopsis:

20-years-old Lukas is right in the midst of male puberty - medically triggered – for he was in fact born a girl. Full of the zest for life, he enters big-city life but even upon arrival encounters a major screw up: recruited for his community service he is the only male quartered in the female nurses’ residential hall. What would be a dream for any other boy is acute, everyday stress for Lukas: being transgender means always finding yourself trapped in the wrong social compartment.

Fortunately his best friend Ine sticks by him and sweeps him into the scene of homosexuals in Cologne, where she is very well integrated. Fabio embodies all that Lukas lacks: disproportionately positive self-confidence and highly erotic masculinity. But Lukas, whose female attributes are still unaltered, is just about to express his desires.
