I Must Be Doing Ok

I know i have a very long way to go to finding my proper female voice, but I've been fielding calls now for a week, and many have been with people I've never met. Those are the big challenge, because they have no visual cues, and they don't know that I'm "supposed" to be female.

I talked with a construction contractor today, and we had a several minute-long conversation. He told me that he appreciated my being "a fast girl" in finding him the information he needed, and finished the conversation by telling me I was a "sweetheart." :D

I haven't stopped grinning since hanging up the phone. That just made my day!

Hey, Hon......

It's funny the things that make us happy at this time in our transition, isn't it?

COOL!

You are a sweeteart by the way!

I would suggest its attitude and the fact you ARE full time - no need to pretend anything else... I am so happy for ya - there will be a few who won't know, just politely correcting them, I think, would work just fine.

I know for a fact that your cadence and speech patterns are female. Maybe because you are female? That is the most important thing about speech really-unless you are a basso profundo or a young barritone. Your voice sounds perfect to me. Both age and gender appropriate.

And I second Lizzy-You are a sweetheart!

Carolyn,

You just rock. This is a well established fact and the evidence is just pouring in from all over. Way to be confident in who you are. You really inspire me.

Hey somebody tell the band it's gotta be waltzes for the first dances - I'll be by later to show my appreciation. Then they can do that boogie thing . My brother deserves his turn too.

Carolyn my dear I may I present you a wrist corsage of gardenias? I think a wrist corsage just adds a special touch to an already beautiful lady -especially for waltzing. I hope that you like gardenias. I could substitute roses if you would prefer?

:D

Love,

John

Carolyn,

After we get done Boot Scootin' Boogie, your dance card will be full and I will make sure the men know they better treat you like the lady you are.

Slipping each band member an undisclosed amount of money and enough whiskey so they play my song first.

John Sr., you may be the older brother but the band is doing my song first. I asked Carolyn for a dance way back before anyone else did. So first dance is mine LOL.

All men get in line behind me :P

Agree with Amy as quoted above. Led Zeppelin is wailing away on the radio from back in The Day to add atmosphere to your rockin' the house, girl!

You are such a trip, Big Sis! We're so glad to have you here. You brighten our days like you wouldn't believe. Thanks!

The voice, oh, my. Now, THAT'S a challenge. Heck, I'm doing "The Lauren Bacall Trip" with the voice which is about as good as I can do. Good for you, Carolyn!

I envy you. I know my voice wouldn't pass yet, but Fox (my mate) says it's getting better, and I've only been working on that part for a few weeks. I've got until August to be at least acceptable.

May you find what you seek,

Landra

Mine were painful for about eighteen months. Three years on hrt I can still function and have no pain at all. The fact you are in pain for a few days after is a red flag for me. Also, I have never read that estrogen or progesterone drops T levels. I'm so sorry you're experiencing this but I think you need to do some serious research. Best of luck....

I'm almost embarrassed to report that my favorite trucks have been Toyota Tacoma pickups - I've owned two, both white! Although I did own a 67' Chevy Carryall once that was a gas guzzler but lots of fun to drive.  I bought it from a school system and it was school-bus yellow I'm surrounded by farmers who all have the latest pickups. I envy them all!   Gwen

Good luck Amanda.   I had a friend for many years. As I changed he became very touchy and, particuarly,  toward the middle of last year, very trans and homo phobic. I think it was his other friends. He had worried about how other people would react with him from the very beginning (in fact has always been concerned at anything which could taint him as unusual). To me it seems like insecurety, but the break came when his other friends started winding him up, saying that we were an item. He finally snapped and lost his temper ridiculing the clothes I wore.   At that point I decided I had had enough and could not put up with the abuse any longer. I walked and have heard nothing from him since.   Tracy

The little cars I have had had would be almost invisible next to these   I did like the look of a Dodge some time back, but totally impractical for me. Even the garage is too small for anything other than a car.   Lovely photo Charlize x
