High Libido & Hirsutism Hair Pre-T = Sex-Addicted Yeti Post-T?

So as I said somewhere else...I am hairy.

As in, really hairy, more than my father, and doctors commented on my "hirsutism".

Basically, the only non-hairy place is my back (and I do hope it stays that way!) and my hands.

Also, I have an high libido. Not going to go into detail, but...I've read experiences of FtMs with hightened libido from T...and I am already like that pre-T :doh1: (and it's no fun when A) you have no partner B) you are VERY dysphoric)

So...does this mean I am more likely to turn into a sex-starved hairy monster?

(Not that it would keep me from starting; I think I'd kill for being able to go back in time and start ASAP, possibly before 18)

Mostly...what have been your experiences after taking T if you were hairy and...well...quite randy pre-T? Is there ANY chance of libido getting lower with T?

Also, I have an high libido.

Many women with a high libido have this because of the architecture of their clitoris. In a small minority of women the clitoris is easily or continually stimulated which leads them to be more aroused. At the extreme end just riding on a bus can stimulate an orgasm. No idea if this true in your case but I imagine bottom surgery would change this.

Alex, I'm curious about these questions, too. I'm noticeably hairy and definitely have a high libido (it's as much mental for me as physical). I am hoping that testosterone will actually regulate some of this.

While I can't speak from experience as an FtM because I am not one, I can give some insights from my background as an RN.

Body hair is a result of many factors, including testosterone. The primary factor is genetics. Also we all (male and female born alike) have both sets of sexual hormones in our bodies naturally. Some have higher or lower levels of these. You may just be a femaled bodied person with higher testosterone levels (not a bad thing for an FtM).

As for libido, yes testosterone has an effect on libido, but it is not a single causative factor. Libido varies from person to person regardless of sex. Females with high libidos are not unusual and having one's libido sky rocket at your age is very common.

I was very hairy pre-T. My natural T levels were high. Yes, I did get hairier. Do I mind? No, because I like being hairy. To me, it is a sign of my masculinity. I always envied guys with hairy knuckles, and now I have my own. :)

As for libido... I am not sexually active, never have been, so it doesn't cross my mind much. I'm almost completely asexual, and have no desires for a partner, so I can't really give input on this matter.

Considering that taking T will induce a male puberty, there is a chance that yes, your sex drive will increase as it does for many teenage non-trans boys. All I can say for that is there are ways of sating high libido without a partner, like toys and porn. My therapist told me that libido and dysphoria are on two different planes - even with all my dysphoria, sometimes my libido gets the better of me.

Your concerns are the same as mine. I am very hirsuit (more to do with genetics than T levels) and have a high libido. See if you can get your hormone levels checked.

If you're concerned about hair, there's always shaving and waxing (ouch).

I don't mind being hairy, I just hope I don't turn into, idk, a real-life furry XD

I also have no idea of where all the hair comes from since my father is mostly hairless

What worries me is the libido, since I don't want to become a sex addict <_<

(I guess I'end up filling my Da/Yg account with loads of pr0n nicely drawn artistic nudity...)

Alex, T will give you feelings sometimes-how you handle them is in YOUR control. I have never read that transmen become sex addicts. Even most teen boys don't become sex addicts. They learn how to handle and control the feelings. You can become addicted to anything that you let take over your life-sex, gambling, drinking, drugs, eating, gaming. It is using those things to escape real life and it's consequences that makes an addict. Not a hormone or a substance.

So relax. It isn't that bad....in fact you might even enjoy it.

This.

It's posts like this that just prove to me how much men are bashed for being men. :-/ it's a sad, sad situation.

It's not the T. It's how YOU control it as JJ said.

I'd like to contribute one perspective that may shed a bit of light on some of the bad press that T gets. As a transwoman I have lived with T coursing through my veins, now on HRT that is no longer the case for me. The point I want to make is this, when the T was in my veins it was a wrong situation for me, the feelings I got and the effects of T were not in synch with who I am and so, if I am asked about the effects of T the answer is not a nice one.

However, and this is a really big however, for a man T is wonderful. The feelings and effects are exactly what a man expects and a man will be enriched and fullfilled by that. Just like the effects of E are so distsastefull for a man, the effects of T are distastefull for a woman. I think part of the bad rep that T gets is a result of we transwomen being so vociferous about how wrong it is for us. However just as you men can find a whole list of "bad" effects for E, those very things that you dislike so much are what is attractive to we transwomen.

Bottom line is don't believe everything you read about the "bad" effects of T, it just may be coming from an irritated woman.

lol! My dad is insanely hairy. I keep looking to him for an idea of how hairy I will get...I started T in January and I'm not even close to his level of hairiness...lol. It's mainly his arms and legs that are pseudo-gorilla-like that I'd rather not inherit.

As for your original post - lol well I had high-normal T levels before I started and I also had PCOS (I don't really think having it is relevant if you're on T since you're essentially shutting your ovaries down anyways, lol), so I had some of that going on as well... I mean I could attribute some of it to genetics, I guess... funny thing is I've always had hairier arms than most women and even some men do, but always less hairy legs, even less than some women... lol and T so far has done more on that front to my legs than my arms which makes me wonder if my levels to start with already had some effect on my arms and that's why I'm not seeing as much change there. And I guess the same can be said about my sex drive, lol, but my situation complicates things because I've been on an antidepressant med for most of the time since I was about 14, and I didn't realize until I went off them about two years ago how high my sex drive is without them LOL. But I was only off them for about 6 months til I went on them again (mainly for anxiety issues, I get panic attacks and apparently the severity skyrockets when I'm off those meds.. I've recently started trying to get that treated with CBT so hopefully I can eliminate this med from my life at some point, lol) so now being on T + meds, I've got no idea what I'd be like if I were to go off them again  I'm hoping that going off them gradually rather than cold turkey, as I did last time, will make a difference... because being off meds, pre-T, was waaaay worse than how I am now on T with the meds! So maybe you shouldn't go by my experience... LOL. all i can say is I did like the fact that going back on that med meant a more normalized sex drive :P

Another thing is that I feel FTM's often start out pre-T with some of the things people experience from T, because of biology. Supposedly there are structural differences that make our brains more like a male's than a female's (there are some studies that have been done on this - as well as the finger length ratio thing indicating pre-natal exposure to higher levels of testosterone), so I think in a way if your brain is already structured to run that way you're going to see some tendency towards T-related effects seen in males, before even starting T, if that makes any sense... I hear a lot of ftm's saying their sex drive was already high, they were already hairier than most women, they had a fairly lower voice for a female-born person, and so on. So it's just something I've thought about... and honestly I think most of the "change" you do see is just kind of an amplification of what's already there.

I was so concerned in the beginning that I was gonna become some kind of sicko who can't think clearly and that I'd lose all self-control  Hasn't happened yet... LMAO

Now I'm not sure if this is normal because generally I have this tendency to respond in odd ways to medications/supplements/etc... LOL, but I feel like more than actual sex drive my mind just goes into the gutter more often  and I've always had sexual humour as almost its own species within my overall sense of humour, and that just kinda became more prominent... lol and often, if not most of the time, it's got nothing to do with actual libido. I feel like a lot of the time when men come off as sex-crazed numbskulls to women... or other men lol... this is what's actually happening. (Matty actually made this point with me once as well, so he gets credit here as well while we're both in this discussion thread. lol.)

It's kinda weird how these people are so worked up over making these laws.  They would have no effect on cis people either way.  Yet they are the ones with the obsession.  They ought to just stay out of trans people's business.

Bean burritos are still popular in my family.   Black eyed peas are the one legume I'm not fond of.  I need to add lots of onions. And of course always cook your pintoes with fat-meat.  And for y'all yankees, navy beans with a big ol' ham bone are hard to beat.

Seek out community, not just online but in person if possible. Making trans friends is a pretty quick and easy way to gauge if you have much in common with them.

It certainly could be classed as dark humor.  Unfortunately the sentiments alone must hurt young trans folks.  Decency and reality doesn't seem to be in the GOP's vocabulary.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good morning all,    It’s a frosty morning here the lawn looks silvery, and the uncovered spring flowers have icy edges on their leaves. The only flower bed I covered was my tulips. As nice as it is here during the day, our clear wind free nights allow the temperatures to drop into the mid twenties. Here in our growing zone it’s recommended that you not plant delicate plants until Mother’s Day. Central Indiana can have snow as late as the third week of May. The birds are active at the feeders, I’ve had my cup of yoghurt and morning meds. So I’ll sit here, drink coffee and watch the as the sunrise chases the frost from the yard.    @awkward-yet-sweet I could eat black eyed peas as a side for every meal. Boil them plain or with fatback. Served as a leftover, just add in a little Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies.  Make the best of your day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Morning, y'all. Evening here; we had the regulation three mugs full today. Now it's time to drink something else.     No big plans here either, eldest daughter and granddaughter will be arriving on Saturday, and we will have our granddaughter to ourselves for a week after that. We still have plans though. Tuesday we'll go to the swim center, Wednesday we'll take a road trip to visit my mom, Thursday we'll get some mulch delivered to top up the gardens.   I still make other small plans on a daily basis though. The things I do plan nowadays, which is a bit new for me, is that after pinching a nerve and ending up in a bit of pain and getting some treatment from the physio, I am more motivated than ever to exercise more regularly. Tuesday for example, I went for a short (15 minute) early morning walk, went to the pool for some hydrotherapy, and mowed the lawns. Yesterday I did my exercise reps and spent some time on the exercise bike. Today, I went for a 45-minute walk, tomorrow I will do my reps again and go for a long bike ride. As long as I do at least one thing every day, right? The pleasing thing is that I'm losing weight! I blew out to above 95kg early in the year and I'm just under 91kg now. Yay me!

What one piece of advice would you give to beginning transitioners or considering transition?
    • Heather Shay
Positive side of the mixed bag.

Boredom is an emotional state that comes when a person has nothing to do, and is not interested in anything. To stop boredom, most people do something to occupy or amuse themselves. The first known use of the word boredom is in the novel Bleak House by Charles Dickens, written in 1852, but the saying to be a bore had been used to mean "to be tiresome or dull" since 1768. When referring to the mind, boredom is a bad state in which the person feels a deep lack of interest in what is going on around them, and where it is hard to focus.
