Reformed Theology?

Hey there! Is anyone here a member/former member of a Reformed church? I'm finally beginning to understand it and am so excited about it, I would love to know other peoples opinions. Because there are soooo many interesting implications for people like us! When I put on my Sovereignty Spectacles and look through them, the world is so FASCINATING and SENSIBLE, and I don't feel frustrated with my feelings cause God planned this out! Does anyone else feel that way? Plus Van Til is BRILLIANT, and there's so much scripture to work with! What are y'all's thoughts?

I've never heard of Reformed Theology or Reformed churches. So sorry, I am not a member. But if you don't mind my asking, what are these Sovereignty Spectacles you are referring to? I agree that the Lord has planned a lot of things, and if we put our trust in Him, all will be well.

"Reformed Church" has a very broad meaning and includes any church that is changed, or broken off from the original church. Protestant (protest) churches are by definition reformed. The first protestant churches broke off from the Catholic Church, and thus became reformed to their own beliefs. Although the only reformed church I know by name is the Reformed LDS church.

A quick Google with Reformed Church and Van Til brings up a whole bunch of stuff, especially a person who is named Cornelius Van Til. A number of denominations (none Roman or Orthodox Catholic) apparently have used some of Van Til's writings in updating some of their ways of looking at things. The list I saw was pretty long, so --- gotta send this one back to the OP for more spcific comment, but it could get interesting.

I am not a member of a church as I live in a heavily conservative religious small town and none of the churches here are reformed enough to accept me. I do believe, and agree with the original poster that things seem to be planned out and fall right into place in the strangest of ways. I feel content though that everything will happen as it should even if its not the way I'd like it to.

But yeah... about these spectacles? I would like to know more of what you speak. It sounds like whatever you're reading is very spiritually inspirational.
