I Shoulda Known I Was A Transgirl When...

Im taking SamTheThinkIAm up on making this my own changing it to mtf thread

Please feel free to add to the list

1. You see a drop dead gorgeous girl and while other guys jaws drop and might have wanted to

be with her, you wish you were her.

2. You don't want facial hair

3. You want to have a hair free body and while others might have thought that is feminine

that's what you want.

4. It's Halloween and you finally get to go out dressed as a girl and you wish you were a girl.

5. Your out with your girlfriend looking at lingerie but you really want to buy some for yourself too

they are so pretty

6. When you are younger and guys have the job of approaching girls and making the first moves

in that ritual called dating and you wish someone was approaching you asking you out instead,

it's all too hard.

7. Your romance fantasy is of you being the one swept away.

8. Your in the men's clothing section and it is so boring.

9. You see some really cute looking small car and friends are saying its a girls car.

Yeah it is a girlish looking car and you want it.

10. Your a teen and you want to have a sleep over with girlfriends as one of the girls.

11. You want a pretty feminine bedroom.

12. You really don't like this thing called testosterone in your body that makes you

aggressive sometimes

13. You would like to go out for the day starting at a day spa get a massage, a pedicure, manicure,

go get your hair done, go out shopping for some sexy clothing and look drop dead feminine

and gorgeous when you are all done.

14. Your sensitive and want to be able to show it without having to always look and be

the strong silent type.

15. You like makeup and all that other stuff in the cosmetics,

so many things you can do with it for fun.

16. You want to wake up in the morning and be a woman all woman.

Ok, here are my additions.

1. Mens/boys clothes make you itch no matter how nice the material. Even silk...

2. When your jerk stepfather is trying to degrade you by using the feminine version of your given name and you actually prefer it.

3. When you are chilling out with a mixed group of friends and the girls side of the chatting makes sense, while the guys is like translating a foreign language.

4. When your older sister pays more attention to your opinions when shopping for clothes than she does your mom's, and just as much as her best friend's.

5. When every girlfriend you've ever had was jealous of your hair because it's longer and prettier than theirs, and you get catty with them when they complain.

6. When your basis for how you treat your girlfriend is how you want to be treated, and your first 4 girlfriends dump you for it. Saying you are too much like one of the girls.

Hmmm, could probably think of some more but those are the top picks.

When you see a woman wearing an outfit that is just hideous and you do not laugh at her - you wonder why her friends did not tell her.

When you are asked which football team you like and then they ask why and you realize that you cannot tell them that they have the cutest quarterback.

The first time one of your jerk friends starts to tell you about his one night stand and you realize how much you would hate being treated like that.

When you would rather cook the meal than just sit down to eat.

Love ya,

I can speak for myself that I wouldn't mind being treated like that at all :D

A week before Super Bowl and all the guys are talking.....

You walk by and try to join in......

"So, who's playing this year...?"

They look at you like you have a lobster claw growing out of your forehead!

Getting caught looking at the lingerie section of the Sears and JC Penney catalogs while hiding behind a couch in the basement at 5 years of age.

Almost getting caught in my older sisters first communion dress, then dragging it deep behind the boxes in the storage room where I could put it on without fear of being caught at 6 years old.

Finding every 'safe' place in my house and neighborhood where I could lower my guard and think girly thoughts without fear of being interrupted from the age of 5 years old onward...

So many clues, all ignored, evaded and/or denied, too many to list..

No more, though, now I will finally reclaim my right to exist as I am..

Yes!

So many times I mistake myself for a female at a glance, or when I catch sight of my shadow, too..

It used to really flip me out, too. Now I like it more than anything...

Thats me every Year. =P

here is a list I came up with , all from personal experience.

  1. When girls want you to braid their hair because your better than them.
  2. When you last picked for a sports team because they say you throw like a girl.
  3. When your class mates had you write everything down because of your handwriting.
  4. When you had to shave your legs almost four years before your facial hair started coming in.
  5. When one of your friends growing up asked you play with her and her Barbie's then another girl.
  6. When the doctors or insistent you were going to be born a girl and had pink clothe for first years of your life.
  7. Until you join the military, everyone called you ma'am over the phone.
  8. When parents pulled you out of drama class to have you reenrolled to gym class
  9. When no girls asked you out because they thought you were gay.
  10. When you were caught dressing up, and played it off like you were force to by a sister (she was away at a friend's house that day lol.)

When every year at Christmas you wished you had your sisters gifts.

When you saw the first beard hair on your lip and cried

When you made friends so much easier with girls.

When you sit down and try to think of ways to appear more manly because it doesn't come on its own.

When you would secretly have tea time with your G.I. Joes

I can relate to almost everything that people listed, except I do love my football. O and like someboby left a comment on the quarterback being cute, I definitly do not find the quarterback cute, or any male for that matter. But yes, almost everything else, right on.

So when we compare all of our experiences even though they are not all the same, you can find similarities.

I hope this will help some here too when they wonder if others have the same feelings and experiences. :)

When you drive around town and look for places you can get out of the car when dressed en femme.

When you watch "the stand" and wish it would happen and you survived so could be a girl. Even if every else was dead.

When all you can think about all day is how to find 5 minutes alone so you can dress.

When going shopping for your wifes dress left you depressed for weeks.

When the letter to start hormones became the most important document you've ever received.

When you would secretly have tea time with your G.I. Joes

Yea, secretly, but if anyone came in the room, the G.I Joes would suddenly be attacked by aliens or there'd be an earthquake or something catastrophic and "manly".

When everyone picks a character to pretend to be from Gulligan's island in kindergarten, you always pick MaryAnn.

You get in trouble no matter where the teacher moves you because you can't stop chatting with the girls around you.

When everyone picks a stuffed toy for nap-time you always try to get Rainbow Bright.

You go through anorexia in your teens and not simply to make weight for some sport.

You pick out a sports teams jacket simply because the logo looks neat and everyone else has one, not because you like the team (and when asked, have no idea what team or what sport they play).

All of your early childhood crushes involve wanting to be her and not be with her.

All of your best friends were always either girly girls or girly guys (my one best friend that was a guy was one who could giggle like any girl, especially during tickle fights).

When you're younger, you hate shopping for clothes because you'd rather be in the girls section, when you're older you buy clothes that you don't necessarily want to wear, but that you'd like to see a cute guy wear.

The photo is great.  Software is phenomenal but it also is sort of a promise of things to come. Years ago this sort of thing took a photographer and Photoshop and all sorts of things and you would say, "I can look like THIS??"   Me, I am a duck.  That's from my driver's license.  Just kidding.

I lucked into that picture. I took like 10 before that, which appropriately make me look like a donkey. ;)   Thank you so much for the compliment!

This is a great analogy. The statement is true as it relates to the tree. The analogy fits because we as a LGBTQIA community are stronger when we stand together. It also work here on Transgender Pulse Forums. The support I feel from so many others has made me comfortable with my stance, because I'm in a beautiful forest of friends. So when I'm out alone and confronted. I can respond and act like the single tree in the field, surviving whatever comes my way. My roots reach back and communicate with others like me.    Standing Strong,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      M.   The term bigender works for me because after taking the time to explore my feelings, I kept coming to the same conclusion, that while I felt an overpowering need to express my inner woman, I also enjoyed being a man.  I realized that my personality was equal parts man and woman and to be happy and fulfilled, I needed to express both sides.  There are challenges living a life of two-gender expression, but I'll expand on some of those in future posts.     Hugs,   Sally

Sally, a moderator can edit the post adding "Post 3" if you would like. Let me know and I'll be glad to take care of it. That way your numbering system is in tact.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I thought Hey, I can't be experiencing Gender destroyer because it doesn't fit the narrative, but Hey I can. I am experiencing mild discomfort in relation to my gender. Because and that can be a form of mild form of it this forum because their elements of my gender that are out of alignment with my sign gender at birth. There are elements of my gender I have been holding back on some I did not even know for fear it did not fit was told was not very manly or in some other way not correct for someone who is an amab. I tried embracing and expressing some of these parts of me even for just a little bit every once in a while and it feels like a relief to me like a weight has been lifted.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums @violet r   I think we all were scared with our first post here on TPF. I hope you come to find this site as welcoming as an old friend. Not knowing the type of retail you're in, it is hard to know how they will react to your coming out. I would hope that if it's part of a larger corporation they may have corporate policies supporting/protecting you once you decide to come out publicly. No one here will rush you, or try to slow you down, once you've decided to come out. Some of us are secret sisters, and others of us are as flamboyant as they come. The cool this is you get to choose. You be you.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Welcome aboard, Violet. What a pretty name!   You are among friends here. We are all on a journey, with things in common despite our individual uniqueness. I hope that makes sense!
