Getting caught looking at the lingerie section of the Sears and JC Penney catalogs while hiding behind a couch in the basement at 5 years of age.

omg you did this too?! Those girls in the catalogs were soooo lucky!

omg! Krisina's #1 described me exactly when I was a kid, and I could name so many beautiful actresses and supermodels that I wished I could have been. Cindy Crawford comes to mind immediately. I wanted to be her so badly.

I do want to slightly change one to fit my life:

It's Halloween and one of your friends dressed up like a girl and you're secretly jealous because you asked to do the same thing and your parents said no.

haha...yes, they were very LUCKY! My parents thought I was just being 'precocious' for 'ogling' the ladies in the catalogs. And of course, teasing and shaming were deemed appropriate ways to treat a child once again. I can't imagine just how much grief I'd have received had I confessed on that occasion that "I want to be like those ladies' in the pictures. Wow, what a nightmare!

My first "I want to grow up to be her' moment took place at a drive-in theatre back in the mid-60s. My family and I were watching a new movie called "She", starring Ursella Andress. I wasn't much more than 4 years old but I remember the warm, nay, burning sensation in my private area as I admired her beauty and wished, nay, prayed, that I could grow up to be just as beautiful as 'She", er, her...Ursella Andress...my first female role-model!

I tried to get permission to wear my older sisters first communion dress as a 'costume' BUT the looks and comments that came after the request were an 'education' for me to NEVER, ever, voice such a thing out loud EVER again (shortly afterward I hid that dress deep in the storage room where I could put it on without fear of being caught and punished) That was the last time I shared my feelings about being trans with my Mom. It was NOT an option in their world, so too bad for me. Too bad, indeed! If Ol' Mom could see me in this wonderful outfit I'm wearing now...hahahahaaa....sorry Ma!

I'm getting there, being myself on my own terms.

Megan_Lynn mentioned games with female characters. I have one for the virtual online world of Second Life. I had a male one and it was boring and I couldn't relate. With the girl one it is fun. I get to choose my favorite clothing hair etc for her.

Yea, secretly, but if anyone came in the room, the G.I Joes would suddenly be attacked by aliens or there'd be an earthquake or something catastrophic and "manly".

ok that made me giggle

This is an older thread, but I saw the one in the FTM forum, so I figured I'd put my $0.02 here. Some things applied, some I'm not sure of, and some didn't (maybe would have if I would have considered my real feelings earlier in life?). My pre-college memories aren't very good, but I'll try.

You pick out a sports teams jacket simply because the logo looks neat and everyone else has one, not because you like the team (and when asked, have no idea what team or what sport they play).

All of your early childhood crushes involve wanting to be her and not be with her.

All of your best friends were always either girly girls or girly guys (my one best friend that was a guy was one who could giggle like any girl, especially during tickle fights).

When you're younger, you hate shopping for clothes because you'd rather be in the girls section, when you're older you buy clothes that you don't necessarily want to wear, but that you'd like to see a cute guy wear.

I do think I picked my favorite sports teams based on their colors and logos. I seemed to have liked teams that others didn't like.

I really only had 1 good male friend in highschool. I had more female aqaintanes than male ones. I remember feeling more comfortable hanging out with my female cousins than my male one (although I'd rather have been alone).

I definitely hated "dressing up" (still do!) in male clothes, especially if it involved ties (thankfully I almost never had to wear ties).

3. You want to have a hair free body and while others might have thought that is feminine

that's what you want.

6. When you are younger and guys have the job of approaching girls and making the first moves

in that ritual called dating and you wish someone was approaching you asking you out instead,

it's all too hard.

14. Your sensitive and want to be able to show it without having to always look and be

the strong silent type.

Sometimes around college time I wanted to start shaving all the hair from my body. It just seemed nice to me.

In highschool I never had urges to date, let alone sex, that (I'm guessing) the other boys did. In my middle 20s I remember calling a girl and leaving a voicemail and sitting their nervous by the phone waiting for her to call back and every minute seemed like an hour. I'm guessing guys don't do that.

I definitely was an emotional person. I quickly learned to stop that.

Getting caught looking at the lingerie section of the Sears and JC Penney catalogs while hiding behind a couch in the basement at 5 years of age.

Goodness. I can recall looking at the Sears lingerie. I cut the pictures out and pasted them on pieces of paper. I didn't come to dinner fast enough, so I got caught. I don't recall my thoughts about it though.

In college I stole a pair of panties from the laundry room and wore them. That was at least a decade before I even remotely though about transgender.

When no girls asked you out because they thought you were gay.

I've had a couple people think I'm gay. Still not sure why that is, it was prior to my doing things such as growing my hair long and things like that.

When you look at a woman and the first thing you notice is here shoes. I still do this.

You look at a woman and get jealous because you want her body bad.

Your everyother weekend self care is going to the nail salon.

You raid your wife's closet to pick out clothes you like.

You spend more time on the internet shopping for shoes and feme clothes to fit a male build

You do so much research on SRS , FFS, breast augmentation, and body scuplting that you wish Poof it could happent over night.

You look online to find a package deal to save money on transitioning to female.

You have 2 facebook pages one as your old self. And one as your true self.

You take longer to get ready than your wife or daughter and they are hurry up.

You have nicer legs than most natural women.

You can walk in 5 inch heels like they were sneakers. Its a gift :harhar:

You shave everything from head to toe that you can reach to get rid of that nasty thing called hair.

You stand in front of the mirror trying to figure out the best pose to flatter your figure

well this is what I do

You tell everyone you just keep forgetting or are too busy to cut your nails/hair even though you are really growing them out because you love the way they look long.

When your stepfather threatens to paint your fingernails because they are too long and you secretly wish he would.

When people ask your name and you stop and think "wait, is that really my name? that sounds like a boy's name..."

When you slice a hotdog before putting it in the microwave so it won't explode, and imagine it as SRS on yourself... uhmm, that one is probably just me.

Kendra,

Wow! I could have written almost your entire post except for 2 points.

1. Sports Team -- Raised in Pittsburgh, PA, there wasn't a choice of teams. It was black and gold from birth.

2.

In highschool I never had urges to date, let alone sex, that (I'm guessing) the other boys did.

I feel like I'm a very atypical TS or possibly not even TS because I have such a strong desire to have sex. Everyone else I read about seems to have little to no drive as a guy. I always waited until the girl asked me out, but then I was in a rush to get physical. Hmm.... Maybe I should make this thought into its own thread. I don't want to hijack this one.

Guest HeatherAnne

I recall being very interested in being physical back when I was trying to bury my TS feelings. Unfortunately, during the act I would sometimes need a TS fantasy in order to perform. As long as I could focus on my partner's enjoyment, though, I never had any problems performancewise - losing myself in the act.

As for peeing standing up, I should have had an inkling because I've never been very good at doing it, it always felt wrong so I never practiced. Also I should have known when literally every dream I had where I had access to magic, say a genie, wish number two was to be a girl (number one was limitless rule free wishes).

Hehe, that's funny,I was never smart enough to have that be my 1st wish. My number one was to be reborn and relive my life as a girl however. Consequently, this is one of the things that led me to realizing I was a transgirl.....

Not my the first thought, but when women complain about their various rites of passage and I say trade you and I mean it.

As far as the numbers go, all but 4, and 2-5 on the second list, men's clothes only really offend my eyes, brain and their tactile feel. Curiously the finest of men's cloths arent too bad, they of course are eschewed by society, it's enough to drive me nuts seeing fields of bubbas with sloppy clothing.

1. When you so bad wish you could have a doll to care for and cuddle

2. When you dream you're a ballerina

3. When you play House with the other girls on the playground and you put a lot of thought into which character to be (I was always the eldest sibling- power without responsibility)

4. When you identify as and prefer playing as the female characters in video games

i don't have a problem with starting, my problem is with finishing... either it happens too early, or we would wear each other out and still not get anywhere near close.

but back to the topic...

i should have known i was trans when i only had one friend during my school years, and never having a girlfriend during high school. i'm almost 30 and still never had a bonafide girlfriend. ah well, lesson learned i guess, i just wish i had a way to roll back the clock and relive my high school years (but as the correct gender).

Ditto here. I have performance issues, which really stinks. :(

No girlfriend until my early 30s, only 1 date in high-school and college combined. I met my love of my life in my late 20s and we've had a wonderful marriage. Of course I just discovered my TG feelings, so not sure what will happen. I don't want to lose her, so maybe I'll just end up doing nothing.

You have given you and us a big clue right there.  I hope you have shared this observation with your Endocrinologist and are willing to take their advice about changing that behavior.    Non prescribed herbal or animal supplements can have a negative effect on your body's use of your available hormones.  Also, your genetics are going to be controlling what your body is going to do with your hormones, and again, that is for you to consult with your Endocrinologists.  On this site none of us are licensed medical personnel and we cannot give you advice on your health more than what your doctor can.  We have rules that we enforce against our members advising about "Folk Remedies" because we have had members who have gone that route and badly damaged their health and quality of life.  Only thing I can go anywhere on, is that maybe if you change your expectations of what should happen, you will at least not be in danger of harming yourself from anxiety.

Hi lovely people,   I'm a 25 yo MtF woman, and I've been suffering from low estrogen issues since October 2023. I completely lost my feminine libido, my breast completely stopped growing, my estrogen levels dropped by a lot (despite NOT decreasing my E dosage) and thus my dysphoria drastically increased. I think it is worth mentioning that, for my health issues, I had been taking ----- Lamotrigine for months & had been on ketogenic diet, and these things seem to be a culprit of my current issue. I weaned off Lamotrigine some time ago and gave up on keto diet, but it still doesn't seem to help. My estrogen is still low (44 ng/ml) and my libido hasn't come back yet. In general, I struggle with my dysphoria so much because of that and, to be honest, I don't know what to do. I've tried so many dietary supplements, yet I didn't get any effects from them. My endocrinologist didn't know how to help me. She only suggested to increase my daily estrogen dose (to 3x per day ------sublingual estrogen tablets and 3x per day ------ estrogen gel applied to armpits or thighs), which I did, without any effect.   Please, help me. Prior to keto diet & Lamotrigine treatment, I'd never had experience like that. I'm basically helpless and have no clue what to do. Having to deal with low estrogen is a horrible experience to me and it affects my life severely.   BTW, my T levels are always within female range.   Do you have any clue what exactly I should do?

One of our cats is polydactyl.  He has 7 toes on each front paw and 5 on each back paw, for 24 toes total.   Another one, an ex-feral who, at the time, was free to roam, climbed 50 feet up a tree without having any thought about how he was going to get down.  His pal climed down backwards, but he couldn't.  He ended up coming down by leaping from branch to branch.  Which nearly gave us heart attacks, because he only has one eye and therefore has no depth perception.   The other ex-feral (both are now indoor cats) obviously does not have those soft pads on his feet.  At night, when we are in bed, we can hear him stomping around the house.

The two o'clock Onshoring meeting was going well.  Taylor was leading, inviting other people up to speak on their specialties. Aerial photogrammetry and surveying, including the exact boundary, were out for contract signature  Gibson had handled that - Manufacturing was supposed to, but somehow hadn't happened.  Legal issues from Legal. Accounting reported on current costs, including all upkeep, guard salaries, etc.  Manufacturing was supposed to give those numbers, but they hadn't.   The downside was the VP of Manufacturing.  He had arrived at the meeting red-faced, his tie askew, clutching a bottle. It smelled strongly of vodka. He had never done anything in his twenty years of being VP of Manufacturing, and he did not like being asked now.   "Mr. ----, do you have the inventory we asked for?" Taylor asked politely.  VP Gibson had asked him to have his people go through the plant and not only inventory but assess the operational status of every piece of equipment.  They needed to know what they had. "I'm not going to take any f---- orders from a g-d- tra---," he snarled. "God knows what kind of perverts it has dragged into our fair city and bangs every night." "That is completely out of line." That was Gibson.  Taylor controlled herself.  That was a shot at Bob, not just at Taylor.  She was glad Bob was not there to do something stupid.  Had Mrs. McCarthy been talking? What had she said?  Was she given to embellishment?  Taylor took a deep breath. "I'm not sorry.  You f--- can take this stupid onshoring --- and shove it up your -" "That is quite enough."  This was the head of HR. "You can take your sissy ways and sashay -" "You are fired." "You can't fire me." "Oh, yes I can," said the office manager.  The VP took another swig from his bottle. "Try it."  He looked uncertain. "I will have you removed.  Are you going to leave on your own?  I am calling the police to help you leave." And he dialed the number. He stomped out cursing. They heard him noisily go down the hall.  This was the front conference room.  He actually went through security and out the door, throwing his badge on the ground on his way.  The guard picked it up. They could see this through the glass wall. "Can you fire a VP?" "The Board told me that if anyone gives me problems they should be shown the door. Even a VP.  I can fire everyone here. I won't, of course. Those were problems." "Are you alright, Taylor?" She nodded.  "I've heard worse.  Shall we continue?" And they did.   The last item was that certain business people in China had been arrested, and the corporation that had been supporting them all these years had been dissolved.  They were on their own, and the Board was dead serious on straightening things out.  After this meeting, Taylor believed it.  She did not attend the meeting to discuss how to distribute the few duties the VP of Manufacturing had done.  That was ultimately up to the Board.

Lunch was at Cabaret, still free.  The place was quiet: it was the sort of place you took a business client to impress them, and the few other people were in business suits.  Most of the legal profession was there.   She told him of the morning's frustrations, breaking her own rule about confidentiality.  She asked Karen how the branding was going, and Karen had snapped back that she had not started on it yet - they had all these proposals.  Taylor had explained that it was important, for the two o'clock meeting, and Karen told her to do it herself.  Karen pointed out that Taylor could not touch her - her uncle was on the Board and her brother was VP of Manufacturing.  Nor would the two computer guys go out to the plant - they were playing some kind of MMORPG and simply not available. If she wanted the pictures, she should go.  Mary prayed an Ave Maria, but both she and Brenda were racing to get the proposal out. The client wanted it Friday for review.   She didn't bring up what Mrs. McCarthy had told her.  She wasn't sure how to approach it.  She thought of telling her of a 'something more comfortable' she had bought in case he ever DID show up at her door. It was in the bottom drawer of her dresser, ready to go.  Instead she talked about moving to a place with a garage.  Several of the abandoned houses had one, and they had been maintained well with China cash.   Bob had finally realized that when he was introduced as Bob, Taylor's boyfriend, that was just how things were done here. Other people had introduced each other in terms of family relationships, which were strong.  Long before you found out anything else about someone, you knew how they were related.  Family kept people from leaving Millville.    "What is the real name of this town, anyway?"   She laughed.  "I am trying to find that out.  It's 'Welcome to Millvale' when you come into town from the north, and 'Welcome to Millville' on the south.  I have counted two other variants."   "What a town. Roosevelt is like that, with the families, but there is only one spelling."
