BE VERY CAREFUL!! Consult with your parents for two reasons, the first is a little matter of copyright property rights now, which you parents actually control for you as your guardians at law, the second is close, because the income from them will be taxed to your parents, and they should not be caught by a bad surprise when the IRS and New York State hit them for un reported taxes. If the offer seems too good to be true, it probably is not true. The old folks may be a nuisance right now, but they can help you see that you get money, and do not lose it, or a bunch of other things.

Otherwise, congratulations, hope to see you name in lights some day!!

kylie666 not doubting you but the link sent me to YouTube and all the Google adsence stuff

Just to be on the safe side, check that you are on the real YouTube page.

Many scams go to great lengths to mimic the look and appearance of well-known sites to steal login details (once you "login" on the fake site, your account is compromised). Also, double-check (and triple-check) the address showing up on your browser.

Aside from that, it is quite possible that the email is indeed legitimate. I have just checked on my youtube account (I have no videos on it, just use it to comment, rate, and flag stuff), and there is a direct link there to my AdSense account (which I use for some of my websites). And I have been seeing google ads on youtube videos for a while, so the feature is quite real.

In any case, the best way to stay safe is to type the youtube address manually on a new browser window/tab and go on from there: this avoids the risk of following a malicious link to some scam site. If you already followed some link from the e-mail, and you didn't verify that you were indeed on the real site while logging in, this may be a good time to update your passwords.

Also, pay attention to Vicky's advise: you need a legal tutor (your parents) to act on your behalf to engage in a commercial activity, and the earnings you make through AdSense are subject to taxes (which your tutor has to manage).

Last, but not least, don't expect to get rich out of a couple of videos: the money you can earn through AdSense is tightly related to the traffic your videos and/or sites have: if your videos get a lot of viewers, you'll get a lot of ad prints and clicks and hence a lot of money; but if they are low-traffic they will also turn out to be low-profit (still, low-profit can often be better than no profit).
